Swatching A.Gallo's classic 48 watercolour paint set - Part 2

In this video, I continue swatching A.Gallo's classic 48 set - there will be some purples and blues, including YInMn blue and lapis lazulis, Fra Angelico blue. Looking at the price of lapis lazuli and YInMn blue, A.Gallo is generous to include them in this set because these pigments are expensive.
From this swatching session, I also enjoyed the look and feel of potter's pink - it's a bit lighter than other potter's pinks I've tried but I do like the softness of this version.
Notturno is another paint that I really liked from this set - it's a three pigment mix and has a lovely granulation once dry.

Is that Permanent Carmine granulating? I don't think I've ever seen a PV 19 granulate before.
Also, good grief, those divots! With as expensive as those paints are, maybe don't pre-activate them with a drop of water. I'd be willing to bet you don't need to, since you've ended up using SO MUCH just for those swatches. 😬

No, it’s not granulating, probably just how the light falls on the paper. I always pre-activate my paints to see the mass tone and it’s also better for the brushes.
