- The Pogos are doing okay i think..... great development of brood however there are some bodys. trying not to panic as that usually causes more issues and i recon it will be okay. plenty of babies
Also a comparison and look at the venus, tubepod and lunapod from wakooshi. they've all got there pros and cons. 10% off with code Antymatters at checkout @wakooshi.com.
ive spoken to wakooshi and hes going to have a look at the lids.
Your Pogos are looking great! It looks like the nanitics are dying off. But that tends to happen when they reach a certain age. Mine have done the same recently. Can't wait for more updates on them!
Great vid pogos are definitely on my list at some point i've only used the lunar pods so far my only issue really is that the mini outworld becomes a bit overrun after 30-50 workers also especially if its solenopsis or tetramorium which are inquisitive which can be a pain seen as there is the possibility of 2 large test tubes worth of nest but such little outworld space it is working great hibernating my native colonies atm though
Great video review of the nests , the luner handles looked like real bonus to me apart from the dropping in but.
I have always found the little round lids on a venus a bit annoying to get off until i got the little suckers and trimmed the little notches off.I have also made a fruit fly feeding funnel that works brilliantly with a venus but wouldn't with the other two. Glad denton was not brain damaged .let us all give praise to wobbly wendy patron Saint of disabled ants 😂
All praise to Wendy hehe. Yeah I used to get annoyed at the venus till I got the suckers, those things are bloody useful forbthe lid. I'm quite enjoying the luna woth the sound handles, hoping sid will maybe tweak them a little. So close to a perfect little nest for a rock bottom price.
mmm fried ants
so random question but i recived a tetra colony from u not to long ago there doing great and should explode soon but they sen to have not taken the wings but instead clipped the alates wings i was wndering if u knew why this would be?
Not sure tbh, it's likely there fertile. I've witnessed a couple queens popping jer own wing off however with the amount if elates I've got inshould have seen more really. It may be how they usually do it inside the nest. If there not killing them they should be functional queens though. There very good at making non productive queens dissappear so I'd say ots okay of there not killing them
Just watched your manica rubida video and was wondering how to heat them without a incubator? and whats the best substrate for them? i was thinking of housing them in a plastic tuperware box with a test tube inside to simulate a nest?
A tubs amd tube setup would do them excellent I think, they love space to dump there rubbish, seems to really increase there survival having it. Heating wise a thermostat and some form of heatmatt/heatwave works well. You can also use laptop chargers transformers and the likes to, if the tub is mostly sealed with a few holes in the lid itl radiate the heat around nicely
She look like Glen from the walking dead. Poor dentin.
Haha yeah does abit lmao
