    I really want a Ridgeline and was planning to buy this week but there's a stop sale order on them. I may opt for a Pilot Trailsport and just get a utility trailer for those times I need to do home stuff.

    they need to stick this drivetrain/engine in the CRV...and call it CRV trailsport!

    You video is a nice orientation. If you wish to make it better...take a little more time of how all the gizmos work...talk slower...and add closed caption for us older folks.

    Honda for the win, if just for having to not deal with a Toyota dealer!

    At least it’s a V6 & not a turbo 4….

      Unfortunately it’s direct injection only and uses a timing belt, so it’s a ticking time bomb.

    • @craigfin3222
      @craigfin3222 Місяць тому +1

      @@user-tb7rn1il3q To be fair, Honda does recommend replacing the timing belt every 100k miles. People who experience failures due to belts versus chains, often try to push that limit and some even never replace them. Side note, almost all of Honda's vehicles (Acura's included) use timing belts and their engines often rival Toyota's in terms of longevity.

    • @user-tb7rn1il3q
      @user-tb7rn1il3q Місяць тому

      @@craigfin3222 Only the V6 uses a timing belt. Toyota is ahead of Honda in terms of longevity. By 100k miles the less affluent second or third owner will not be able to afford a timing belt service. The belt will break and the car will get repossessed.

    Better than the Highlander, but not better than the G Highlander

      It is better than the G Highlander as it has better Off road capability. Trailsport is what I'm talking about

    A far better off-roader, better in updated tech, but still. Toyota is a good option for solid reliability and overall longevity.

      @@DacAL_8says who? You have no idea how reliable either engine will be. We don’t need another armchair engineer who thinks he can see the future.

    • @markshul03
      @markshul03 Місяць тому

      @@DacAL_8 Then you need to get your money back. It isn’t “gunk on the intake manifold” it’s in the valves, and it affect every direct injected engine, turbo charged or not. However, Toyota helps mitigate it by using dual injection and having port injectors to help clean them.
      Take your degree and ask for a refund.

    • @DacAL_8
      @DacAL_8 Місяць тому

      @@markshul03 the gunk build up is in the back of intake valve and eventually block the intake manifold. Did Toyota specifically said dual port injection system? Show me where ? You’re a freakin liar!
      The other problem with turbo is the wastegate. There’s no easy way to remedy the gunk build up there.
      You sound like you have too much hate in yourself. Who hurt you? You need to redirect that energy into a positive thing. Just saying…

    • @DacAL_8
      @DacAL_8 Місяць тому

      @@markshul03 Freakin liar. Toyota has not done dual port injection system on any 4 Runner. Nothing shows up on the 2025 4runner specs. Intake manifold behind the intake valve is where it gunk up. Do you know why?
      Heard about NOACK ? If not shut the f up!
      Turbo engine runs hotter than regular NA engine that’s direct injection system. Turbo = hot oil vapors that tends to stick on the back of intake valves and the waste gate when the engine cools down. You have no freakin idea what you’re trying to reason out. Probably. Toyota fan boy…
      The more you leave comment here the more it shows that you don’t know shi….
      It should be better if it’s a 6 cylinder turbo ( larger cooling system) than a small 4 banger hotter turbo engine. The only thing Toyota must do is to have a better cooling system to support that tiny hot engine or add oil catch can to prevent more hot oil vapor that stick to the intake valve and gunk up.
      Please stop commenting, bec. you make yourself look dumb.

      Reliability also has a cost. You could certainly buy a Hyundai or Kia that looks fancier for the same or less, but they won't outlast a Honda and will probably burn down your garage overnight. Resale value shows that.
      In fairness, if you're the kind of person who trades in their vehicles every 3-5 years, it probably doesn't matter. Even a Hyundai or Kia should likely make it that long (at least while under warranty).

      No KIA engine is going to outlast a proven NA Honda J series engine. There are other options but none have a proven track history. Only Toyota does
