Looks really good, I would have put the peel n stick over top the mirror for 2 reasons. 1-easy removal if you change your mind down the road, 2-would have given a slight depth at the outside edge to the faux brick and made it look a bit more real
Good point - why take off the mirrors?
What a difference you made with wallpaper, paint and accessories that tied everything together. I would've loved to have come to visit you, bringing my favorite book and blanket 🙂
This video looks like a staged room. If I were to do this in my home I would have gotten the faux brick wall panels. They are kind of like the bead bard wall panels MDF. A lot of movie sets and escape rooms use them. The texture would bring the room to a whole new level.
I concur
Sounds cool. An you just buy them at Home Depot or similar store?
@@Katy32344,
Yes. They come in 4'x 8' sheets.
@@Katy32344 Yes, you can buy the faux wall panels from Lowes or Home Depot. They come n textures like brick, stone, etc. Last I priced them was about $40 per large sheet, roughly 8ftx4 ft, in 2019 after talking with the owner of our local escape room place about their set building process for puzzle rooms and the haunted houses. With the 2021 inflation and shortages I am not sure what the price would be, and the order time will be longer. Good luck.
That peel-able/removeable wallpaper is gonna stick to the bare drywall mud that was used to repair the walls.
You really need to paint over that and give the paint a few days to cure before adding the wallpaper.
I made this boo boo myself so I know.
I would prefer the brick board you can buy at Lowe’s because it has lots of texture and looks more realistic and is not much more expensive than this paper. I checked because I want to do this to a wall in our home, maybe the family room or guest bedroom. I like that the mirrors are down, but that area should have a lot more of the brick look paper. I don’t even like wallpaper, so the faux brick boards at Lowe’s is what I would use, the decor and furniture is lovely and I do like the paint color, but not with this brick look paper, it’s the wrong color combination in my opinion, a clay tone would have been a better cohesive choice. It’s lovely, just not our taste.
Actually LIKE her speed of details, quick 2 point yet showed how to do EVERY ASPECT of diy remodel...
More of her
maybe remove the side mirrors and put a frame around the middle mirror. I think it looks great.
I actually liked the mirrors but might have removed the mirror 'wings' at most because I truly love the way a mirror brightens the room. I have an entire wall of mirrors in my dinning room and absolutely love them.
I would've just applied the adhesive brick directly to the mirror. That was if time comes to remove it, it would peel off the glass easier than drywall.
I was thinking the same thing. There's a lot of other decorative things that can be done with mirrors. Mirrors are expensive. I wouldn't have trashed them but, that's me 🙂
I was gonna say that. I've done it b4. The least work the better. Personally I find it easier 2 work with pasted wallpaper. Looks much better. I like wallpaper Accent walls.
@@janicefitz6348 I love wallpaper! So glad its finally back! ❤
I L.O.V.E. this idea of the brick wallpaper. Have wanted to do this for years but I’m too chicken that I’ll mess up somehow and not be able to fix it. Plus my ceilings are 9 feet high and at my age, my kids have made me promise to stay off ladders.
You definitely have a decorating talent. Beautiful job!!
I love it, what a difference!!
Looks great..love the paint color. I've always wanted a brick wall in my house.
Amazing!!! Looks absolutely beautiful!!! Fantastic job! Love it!
Good job. Love the wallpaper.
Well done!! ❤️ Beautiful colors. Looks cozy.
Turned out beautiful..... but I would have painted the walls before putting up wallpaper. I am concerned it will not stay stuck... drywall patches too chalky.
I love the mirror more. The contact paper glue will dry up in a few months and start to hang.
Simply elegant!
Beautiful transformation!
Beautiful!
I liked the mirror lol If it were me, I would've applied the peel and stick wallpaper directly on the mirrors instead of going through the effort to remove them.. much more efficient
Love the faux paper
Looks great!
Absolutely gorgeous
It’s amazing what peel & stick wallpaper will change a room. We have a beautiful fireplace and mantle. So we went with a rock. Wow, it’s beautiful. Now to finish the rest of the living room. Enjoy your channel. 💛🌻
I like the mirrors better. The wall looks cheep now.
Nothing screams hedious as loudly as faux brick wallpaper. Currently diyer's everywhere are painting over real bricks that look like this. If the real thing doesn't look good, a paper imitation is a definite decor don't.
so pretty!
There is nothing about this renovation I liked.... and I have seen lots of reno shows and consider myself having a good taste in interior design. Some people are better off hiring professionals than wasting time and money on bad decisions ;)
Beautiful room! Love the wallpaper.
Very pretty I like your room remake
I think they call that contact paper?☃️❄️💚🙃
Not bad, but would have looked much better had the wall paper bricks matched up 😉
I liked the mirrors, the peel and stick paper is lovely too
Beautiful!!
I also shop a lot of my furniture finds on Marketplace!!
I agree the mirrors were not right in that area. Maybe ok in the 90's...I like your choice of wallpaper for that area.
It looks beautiful! Great job!
I love mirror too. I think however ..that the brick wall paper looks very cozy . It's all a matter of what your mood is . Sometimes we just like to switch things up a bit. It all tied in beautifully together. Nice job!
I liked the glitter walls
What color paint is that it's gorgeous
I don't see the point of replacing real quality mirror with fake brick paper and underwhelming cookie-cutter art. The mirror didn't not strike me as "cold" at all and think of how lovely it would have looked by candlelight-- but perhaps the effect was more modern than the homeowner preferred.
Absolutely gorgeous ,I love your makeovers they are excellent……❤️❤️
What name and where, did you get that, paper? Considering doing my own. Ty, for sharing
Good job
I match the pattern on the floor, before hanging the first piece. Then match the 3rd to the 2nd, before hanging the second, and so on.
It’s such a shame to see those mirrors covered. There’s nothing cold or impersonal about natural lighting
I have brick floor to ceiling where my woodstove is, greatroom connected to kitchen. I would love the brick wallpaper in the kitchen and under the bar, to tie it all together. Do you have the link to purchase?
I was sad to them destroy the mirrors. Mirrors are so expensive.
They should have only taken the side ones down and not break them, use them somewhere else or sell them and then frame the center mirror with some lovely moldings you can buy at ho e depot or Lowe’s. I don’t like faux brick wall paper, looks cheap to me.faux brick hoard at Lowe’s looks and even feels like the real thing. You should see it and it’s not expensive either! I’m going to do a small wall in my family room and maybe a wall in the sunroom too once we finish it this summer. The outside is almost complete, just a bit more paint and readjust a door, the. We can finish the inside.
I liked the before and the after. Both looks are nice.
Love to know where you sourced the brick wallpaper.
Yes where can I get that brick wallpaper?
Maybe check on Amazon.
I love the diys but that wall colour is awful!
Pantone anyone?
I agree that the mirrors had to go but faux brick is just as bad. Lol
To each their own, however, I would change a few things. The new wall color looks practically the same as the old one. A clay color would have brought out the colors in the faux brick. There is way too much surface clutter everywhere, even the faux brick is cluttered by art and an ornate mirror, which kills the effect of the brick. Try switching the mirror with the painting over the couch. Just one centerpiece on the mantle plus the lamps would have sufficed, although these lamps seem too small for the mantle. And the furniture needs to be rearranged. How do you walk through the room into the other room at the left corner? Better to have the couch facing the fireplace, to create a walkway on the left side of the room that goes directly into the other room. Keep the coffee table empty, put the lamp by itself on the side table between the chairs, restrict books and other accent pieces to the shelves next to the fireplace. The area rug is redundant. The coffee table is already off-white, and there's enough pale pieces in the room to contrast with the beautiful floor. Why cover it up? If anything, a dark brown area rug would balance the darker tones on the fireplace, chairs and small accent table, but darker throw pillows or a throw blanket would have worked just as well. The room is over-decorated with accent pieces. Learn to appreciate negative space. It's pretty important in a small room. You just make the room look even smaller this way, not cozier.
Most ppl use rugs for a warm spot on cold hard floors
This interesting... I really liked the room makeover visually! While some points may be valid as for traffic flow, I loved all the visual nuances
. Of course I'm not a less is more decorator!!!I'm a more is more ? Felt it was a barrage of negativity
. Key word..barrage..just saying.
Lyk beter en mooi❤️🇿🇦
Where did you find your wallpaper?
Our storage outbuilding had a brick wall looking like this, so we painted it white and it looks so much better.
Years of decorating in the Newport Beach, California Fashion Island area taught me that wallpaper doesn't add the texture and warmth that exposed brick does, but it does scream "contact paper--line your drawers and cabinets".. And yes, I can believe you got that couch from an inexpensive source. If on a limited budget--always consider Ikea and Scandinavian. And learn your Hyyge. It really brings a yummy and natural glow to your inner sanctum.
She takes the $1,000 improvement off and replaces it with the $30 'improvement'. 😂 And, it is truly awful looking.
I would have liked the picture whole instead of spotty before and after, the before was good, the after wasn't like the before tour. So...told me not much in comparison.
Sorry, it looks like. Contact paper, there is paintable wallpaper that would of looked better..
Back in the day my mom loved contact paper . . . . . . . . to line the kitchen drawers. 😆
Not a look I would have in my home.
@@ceedeebeez1 People use peel & stick paper when they're renting and have to restore the room when they move out.
It's great to be able to afford your own place, but that's sadly out of reach for many people who don't earn enough to buy.
yep, u shooulda put the brick in the back of bookcases..more authentic.. my dad was bricklayer,,
luv it but u still hung a mirror i would of hang up same frame with a photo of u..................................vintage style.
If you paid attention to the crimes in this world. You'd shut those drapes. Never leave a Window uncovered at night or of the evening. The criminals watch through windows to pick their victims. I'm sorry but it's true. If you watch anything about serial killers they will watch through windows to stalk their victims. I have never ever left my curtains open. I was almost a CSI until I found out that they revisit their crime scenes. That stopped that in it's tracks
I must agree. I do not understand why people leave their drapes open at night KNOWING strangers are looking into their homes. Ted Bundy started out that way, peeking in until one night he crawled through the window. I was taken back by her remarks they never close their drapes at night.
@@thebastardgift Yeah me too. Even enjoying the view from huge glass windows during the day is dangerous. I can't remember what they called him.But that New Orleans guy started out by watching women in their homes. It's scary as heck
She has retractable black blinds in every window. Look when she’s hanging the rods.
She has dark brown retractable blinds in her windows, she shits those at night I would think.
@@sherrygaetke3968 Yeah but she said she likes to keep the curtains open she loves all the light. I do to. But curtains stay shut when I'm in my city place. After watching bout that New Orleans killer my country home is shut now 2. Geez he stood outside a woman's bathroom when she was taking a bath...window open curtains open..yikes
Love the faux brick but hate the hunting pictures - why anyone in their right mind would have them is beyond me.
The brick does look good w that white fireplace. Plus who has money 2 hire a pro. Much less re decorate. Lots of us r renters. Not renter frdly
Please, please tell me where you got your sofa. I absolutely love it!👌👍😇🙏🥰😍❤️❣️💗

I purchased the same wallpaper from Home Depot but you can find it at Lowes as well. I installed it in my walk-in closet.
@@sylviaw3538 thank you
WoW qu’elle différence , de toute beauté. Good job. Louise du Québec.😽😘🐾💕👍
I would rather just use paste and measure it on the wall
I like both looks.
Beautiful
Plus curtains soften a room & make it cozier
Beautiful, Awesome Job. I just love it..
