that brick w/ the joint compound on it looked AMAZING, what a brilliant idea! I like it a bit better that way more than w/ the paint, personally, but it definitely looks good all painted up as well. Purely a stylistic choice.

Every week it’s just getting better and better. The floors are going to be insane. I think you could both approach some companies and maybe get the appliances sponsored! I’ve seen that happen on other channels and with then seeing the progress so far I’m sure they’d want to help!
Quick question, how did you get the mortar to show back through? The last look, it was solid white.
So sorry for the camera casualty. R.I.P new camera lenses. Wow, cleaning and prepping for paint takes at least half if not 2/3 of the time. Andrea's attention to the little details makes all the difference in an "amateur/pro" job.
We did the brick backsplash when we remodeled our last house. We're doing a kitchen remodel again in our new house and plan to "brick" it again.. I left it just looking like the red brick and loved it. It's such an inexpensive way to update plain walls. It makes it look like I'm drinking my morning coffee in a cafe!
How has it held up to moisture? I'm thinking about doing it in our rental property, but I'm curious about longevity.

Looks AMAZING!! The new backsplash (gorgeous!!), countertops, painting (amazing what a fresh coat of paint does to a ceiling, which gets overlooked a lot) and with the painted cabinets (from last week’s video), had it all coming together beautifully!! Buying a couple of coffees now, bc a new fridge is just what this new kitchen needs!💜
A friend of mine has been a handyman for over (30) years and helped me do some demolition/remodeling on my home a few years ago, and let me tell you! When he taped and mudded, there was ZERO need for sanding. It's truly an art!

We used the same panels for behind our stove and vent hood! We painted them white as well. It gets so many compliments when people see it! I originally was going make my own but this was way cheaper and it looks and feels real.
how is it holding up with the heat from the stove? I'm worried that it will warp like plastic will when exposed to high heat.

We'll be keeping the original brick in there and building a new mantle!! We'll have a few videos on that space too with a new wall of shelving and YES, new furniture that they have no idea about!! I may be more excited about that space than the kitchen haha

You made the zigzag connection look so easy. I watched another video where a couple did that and we’re not able to join the panels, so I had decided that would be a no for me. Another week, another great video Andrea! You do such beautiful work!! The brick backsplash has given me inspiration to do that in our kitchen, that has been slowly getting renovated....I can't complain about the "slow" part, it's getting there! My husband is a builder, so that means, our house is always on the back burner, so to speak, but I get it, the man is tired! Great job as always Andrea!! I love it! ❤

I really like the white faux brick. For backsplash, my favorites are beadboard and shiplap. White brick would be my third favorite. Excellent job!

I want to try the faux bricks on my wall...but maybe leave them with a bit of the color coming thru...have to research that one. Great job. It is really fun to watch you do all the work because you do such beautiful work.
That's how I've done it in the past too, you just skip the painting step! You can seal with a matte water based poly too.
I find myself smiling at the end of every one of your vids...just so satisfying to watch and funny too! Sorry about the broken lens...that sucks! Maybe add on a 4th week of campaign to cover that accident :)

I am MIND BLOWN how this legit looks like my kitchen I remodeled 5 years ago 😳 like the color is very similar - I have a white brick backsplash... the layout is different but overall it feels like my kitchen lol. Obviously we have great taste in design 😉 bc I am still in love with my kitchen and doing stuff yourself feels amazing to accomplish and you guys know that considering you have 10+ years of experience - I am only at 5 yrs experience and I have been learning a lot from you guys in these videos - I actually didn't do that cut out thing with my bricks (so lowkey my kitchen is like chopshop version of this one) 😆

Thanks you!! My degree actually has absolutely nothing to do with what I do now haha. My dad is an engineer, so I think I definitely picked up some of his love of tinkering and building things, although he works more with machines and I prefer woodworking and things like that! Things probably look more effortless now, but that's just after years of growing and practicing... my first furniture builds and DIY home projects involved a lot of trial and error (that was before UA-cam could teach you everything lol) and definitely didn't look very professional!

I just taped the edge of the countertop and caulked before painting :)

Question- you sprayed primer then sprayed the trim and window and door casings. So that is usually a different type of paint. Didn’t the overspray affect painting the walls with a flat or matte paint?
Hi Jackie! I've never had problems with that and I almost always spray the ceilings, then trim, then roll the walls after!

I did remodeling on my childhood home and the men we hired left to do a small job and never came back or answer our calls. We have a few jobs left and was curious where y’all lived and if you did work for other people. We live in Texas and I watch many of your videos and love your work.
Nice trick with the mud on the faux brick wall. It really gave it an instant aged look. Btw the dust spread more because they had that ceiling fan running while they were sanding. That’s a no-no.
