Nice! Peter Tosh included his version of "Johnny B. Goode" on his 1983 album Mama Africa. I bought a copy of that album on cassette back when. A few of the other stand out tracks on the album include "Mama Africa", "Glasshouse", "Where You Gonna Run", and "Maga Dog". Robbie Shakespeare and Sly Dunbar provide the bass and drums respectively on many of its tracks. For more from Peter Tosh also check out "Legalize It", "Ketchy Shuby", "Get Up, Stand Up", "Downpressor Man", "Stepping Razor", and "Equal Rights".
Awesome! Peter Tosh's Mama Africa album is a classic, and his take on "Johnny B. Goode" is unforgettable. With legends like Robbie Shakespeare and Sly Dunbar contributing .For more Tosh greatness, "Legalize It," "Get Up, Stand Up," and "Equal Rights" are must-listens. Thanks for sharing this! 🌟
Had to come in on this one, Vickie and Peter! Peter Tosh is a huge figure in music history, and doing his version of an iconic Chuck Berry classic???!!! This is going to be awesome!!!
Wow!!! That blew me away!!! Though the overall style of the song is definitely reggae, his band brings in what we used to call back in the day "hard rock" elements with that guitar lead that makes me believe this guy can do just about anything! Peter Tosh is a legend to be sure; would love to see more reactions to this guy and his band on this channel!
So glad you enjoyed it! Peter Tosh was truly a legend, and his versatility is incredible he could blend rock and reggae like no other. If you come across any other performances of his or songs that really blow you away, feel free to send them our way! We'd love to keep reacting to his amazing work and his band's energy. More Tosh reactions coming soon!
