Great review. I’ve been looking for something for a “get home” situation for husband and daughter. They work a ways from the house. I wanted something that I didn’t have to constantly be replaced as I would have to do for any grocery store foods. This seems perfect, specially since the water comes with it. Thanks for sharing, now I know I can go ahead with my order.
That exactly what I do with these Tammy. I throw one in the trunk when we hit the road vs. remembering to gather several things. We have some more Augason reviews coming up soon along with some other freeze dried stuff if you might like too. Thanks for watching
Only when stored between 55 and 70 can we expect those kind of numbers. I’ve talked about this on different videos because I fully believe the way some of this stuff is stored ( garages/ sheds etc) some will find they have food that is no good When they open it up.
Check Walmart, midway, and sometimes Amazon online for current pricing Lee. I’ve learned that if I say what the price is on something it’s usually off in this crazy inflation situation. Supply and more important, demand, has been a huge issue with all freeze dried/preparedness foods the last few years that prices literally seem to change daily at times. If budget is tight, you could certainly make up your own kit like this out of instant oatmeal, packet of mashed potatoes and some bottled water. They wouldn’t have the same shelf life as packaged but for the little cost you could rotate them out easily enough. I don’t use stuff like this as a main food supply rather just a handy envelope to throw in car when I’m traveling etc.
You do what you have to do in the particular situation you’re in. After over twenty years of emergency response, including emergency evacuations, I can say with confidence there are many real life instances beyond the “ prepper” fantasy world where there is no choice but to get your tail out the door in seconds or die. I’ve worked situations where people went from living their normal life to being a refugee in their car or an evac center in minutes….the lucky ones that made it out alive….Every incident command response situation I have been involved in was different with its own unique problems and those that lived had critical thinking skills in that scenario.
Every thing is excessive price wise anymore and getting worse sadly. All of the emergency food has skyrocketed since the beginning of 2020. Having said that, you can shop around and find better deals and sales from time to time. I focus more on re- packaging bulk foods for any meaningful quantity. Freeze dried stuff has its place but isn’t what I call first string preps.
Another great review. Thank you for looking out for those of us that have food restrictions and mentioning them on your video.

25-30 years of shelf life? At room temperature in a hot climate like Bakersfield? Amazing.

I checked Auguson Farms on Google and found their food prices to be excessive?
