@@chrispassmore4461 haha, it’s only that we’re a few weeks behind lol, we did think this might confuse people, but we part ways again in next week’s vlog as Nikki goes north and we go south. We should catch up again in a couple of weeks xx
Hi Jennifer, we live kingfishers too, they are tricky little customers to film or photo, but just stunning! Yes, those kids, really don’t know what goes through their little minds 🤷♀️ Thank you Jennifer! xx
Lovely cruise and good to see Nikki catch up with you again! That has to be one of the most handy Tescos on the cut! Don’t think we would have dared leave our boat either, with that fire so close 😳
Aww thank you! Yes, it was a little too close for comfort, but we were so impressed at how quickly the fire brigade arrived, it was literally minutes! See you soon 😜 xx
Aww James, this was a few weeks ago, we’re back near Norton at the Buckby flight now. So sorry 😞, wish we’d gone down further, it would’ve been lovely to see you again too! Hope you’re well, you’ve certainly got your work cut out with your boat, but it’s looking good, really starting to take shape now! 👍 Hope we get to meet up again soon xx
I’ve worked on the railway at Tring … bloody horrible in summer .. black midges everywhere, but not as horrible as those damned wide beam ‘obese 🤣 narrowboats’. The GU looks amazing around there. Got some good memories of working on the WCML on nights … Leighton Buzzard and regularly visited the Marina at Cooks!
Thanks Nigel, the GU has some really lovely stretches! Haha re ‘obese narrowboats’ lol, some of them are amazing, I just couldn’t imagine steering one 🤪 Thanks! xx
Great video as always. I know this was a few weeks ago but that rain…literally tipping down, as I’m watching this during Storm Cieran! Hopefully you’re well out of the way of the current rain. Rhapsody looks fabulous in the sunshine. So glossy and shiny. Gorgeous boat and clearly well loved and cared for. I love how you get the reflections in the paintwork, and in the water. Beautiful. Have a lovely week xx
Aww thank you Mishka, such lovely compliments, thank you! xx Martin really does take pride in keeping the boat looking nice, he’ll be chuffed to hear this xx
The Red Lion is a favorite Pub of mine, I worked not far from there in Bletchley and our Group Hut was in Fenny Stratford next to an Abattoir. Always enjoy your Vlogs. Greetings from Northeastern Pennsylvania . Great Pub in Leighton Buzzard .
Perfect shopping mooring 😊 this weeks vlog was smoking 😂😂 the silly what's out, i had to listen to that twice 😂 you must have a tracking device onboard, nikki always manages to find you 😅 stay safe ❤❤
I love the Cormorants drying wings. Shags are sea birds and nest on cliffs, so easy to tell the difference. Its just as well it wasnt a shag, that i said i love !!! Great vlog and glad your back with Nicky once again. I love your music, what is it called please.
Haha re ‘shags’ 😂 I do try to call them cormorants, but have been corrected before, so end up putting both names. Thank you for clarifying it for us 👍 They are amazing looking birds, especially when drying their wings. Thanks again! xx
Cracking vlog again. One of best cared for boats on the network. Am I right in saying you’re wintering at the GU Leicester line summit? We’re leisure boaters out of North Kilworth (where you purchased Rhapsody, I think) Be great to come say hi, I’d like to glean info from you both about all the improvements you’ve made to Rhapsody in Blue. Thanks for taking the time to do these vlogs.
Hi Paul, yes, we’ll be wintering on the Leicester line 😃 We moored at NKM for 6 months, it’s a lovely marina and we have friends there too, so we will be popping in, I dare say a couple of times! Hopefully we’ll catch you when we do, what’s your boat name, or which section are you moored at, (we were in section D when we were there)we’ll look out for you? Thank you! xx
@@JulieandMartinonRIB Hi Julie, we’re in K, on Mandalay. We’ll keep an eye out for you and come say Hi, or (if we’re both at NKM) please come see us. Many thanks, Paul & Liz.
Thanks Matthew, it was difficult, because you couldn’t push it from the other side, I didn’t have a choice unfortunately, but will be very wary of it next time! Thank you! xx
Hi new subscriber here. Just wanted to know who enforces the 2 hour mooring rule. I don’t expect the CRT team waiting to check if boaters are keeping to the rule
Hi, lovely to have you onboard! That’s a good question, we didn’t really think about that. Although it is down to CRT to enforce it, as they cannot be there at all times, they rely heavily on boaters being honest and respecting the 2 hours mooring for shopping. Most boaters will abide by the rule, so that everyone can do their shopping. It’s similar to lock landings and water points, they are mostly restricted to 1 hour at a time and most people do stick to that, but obviously you will get the odd person that exploits it. Thank you, hope this makes sense xx
Hi David, it’s a chrome Spitfire, we bought it as a nod to the previous owner who was in the RAF and who had looked after this boat so well, we thought it was a nice gesture. Thank you! xx
We use an app called OpenCanalMap, it shows you where the services are, shops, locks and parking etc, and shows your position in real time 👍 Hope this helps, thanks! xx

I like the way Nicki swaps seamlessly from one vloggers vlog to another on a Thursday. 🤣🤣😎👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻

Rhapsody in Blue is a very spoilt narrow boat……in tip top condition and not a dirty thumbprint anywhere. Lovely journey, very enjoyable.
Thank you so much Rikki, so lovely of you to say xx
Always love seeing the kingfisher at the start,my favourite bird. And as for these boys,a good kick up the backside would help them.
