5 years of war in Afghanistan for just a blowing loss. Losing my best friend Jack to a god damn mine, having to shoot a kid for killing one of my comrades all for a loss. Seeing over 50 people die in my journey. Seeing Alex pushing me to cover, he got shot 5 TIMES IN THE CHEST for a bloody defeat. I cant do anything now and my life is miserable and kids say they want to join the army when they grow up. Its all fake; they say they care about you but don't. As a soldier, they said nothing about how we feel except of go there or go to attack there with ground support.
I can see why this has not many replies, you've said it all. Hope you find some meaning and relief in your life soon. I'm not an American but I have family there. A couple of my cousins came and visited me and my family while they were travelling. It turns out they work for veterns affairs and they sound like they are trying to help as many people as they can, but there just isn't the resources. %99 of people are trying there best to help those around them but it takes more then that to make a significant difference unfortunately. Guess what I am saying is it's a tough, isolating world out there, that will quickly forget about those who fall through the cracks and I know that. And if you can't bring yourself up by your bootstraps then bring someone along to help you up. Future you and those that care about would hate to see you fall through the cracks and disapair into the abyss to join the countless others who have been abused and forgotten. and I guess that goes for anyone having a though time.

This is one of the most wonderful, well put together, well edited, and the saddest All Quiet on the Western Front edit I have ever seen. It is a mix of a beautiful song and a beautiful movie. Good on ya mate.

Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain and suffering
To think that all this death was meaningless for the germans 20 years later and the new german leader betrays all the death and disruption that the great war caused a war he fought in and new the pain but was filled with so much hate he marched over the borders of foreign countrys starting the second world war
that's the thing, so much pain was still left to heal for Germany from the great war even then. Hitler just channeled the pain into hatred (which is really just an attraction of pain applied to a thing and confusing it for the pain itself). This is why throughout history we see a steady cycle in most popliticley unstable parts of the world between war/geoncide/interal conflict, a short respite as people can't take it anymore or a side is defeated, but of cause the pain, the problems still exist, the pain builds again until an individual harnesses the pain as hatred to to cause a literal blitzcreig in war, or a political one in policies of hatred. This cycle can only really be broken by a reckoning of the crimes of the past and acknowledging who has committed them, and fixing for good the underlying social or economic issues. Only then can a real healing process begin. This process unfortunately was never quite completed in the American south or east germany for example and so the termoil continues, for now.
I am a Namibian and knowing Germany colonized Namibia and they treated my ancestors badly , bc when I was younger I was afraid of Germans and then when i watched this movie I was in tears and realized they were also scared of the French tanks and then I just said at the end of the day we are all human and we get scared of things or people we haven’t seen before and my grandma told me that when WW1 started like the young men did not imagine it to be that bad but then they came to realize that they made a big mistake but we know some of them as heroes 🔥🫡
Old times Emperors, Kings, Sultans fought and died with their men. Ebu'l Feth Fatih Sultan Mehmed was 21 when he was in the battlefield to conquer Constantinople. During the Battle of Issus, Alexander was only 23. Old times young leaders were with their young and old soldiers but today old coward men are ruling our countries.
