Timespinner is one of my all time favorite MVs, if only due to the gameplay and design (not the story or dialog). Check out Valdis Story, that has one of the best OSTs if not THE best OST in my opinion, if you can call it an MV. Great work man, keep it up!
FiST in C tier is absolutely insane to me. High A tier minimum for me. The way all of your weapons integrated into your movement / exploration capabilities was super refreshing.
As a gay person, I feel like the diversity in Timespinner was not done well Hopefully they improve on that in the sequel Somewhat unrelated, but I always enjoy seeing Rabi-Ribi loom over the other games in each review I assume you are saving it for your last one? I would love to see your thoughts on it, considering how the characters are drawn and sexualized in that game
One thing amazing about Tevi's crafting which I don't think you mentioned in either vid is that you get rewarded more materials the less you have of them, which rewards your for using them often and inspires you to craft a lot, and is anti-grind as the more you use, the more you get so if you need to use the items, you'll always have the mats as simply using them increases drop rates dramatically. Big part of why it feels so good. Easy S-tier for me, but honestly based on how many pros you had and your other video I'm surprised it was so low in that tier. I was thinking at least A-tier as it felt like you had a lot more praise for it than some of those other B-tiers above it. All subjective though and I'm a full-on Rabi Ribi fanboi so naturally imma be all about Tevi.
I’m gonna take issue with your walking on water take real quick. If the rules of your story say that you can’t pass through water when time is stopped, then logically you also shouldn’t be able to move through any space filled with air, seeing as it’s just as much of a fluid as water is. Instead, you can make the rules say that, when time is frozen, you can manipulate and push matter out of your way, which lets you move through air, sink in water, and maintain buoyancy since that’s just a phenomenon of static forces. Now why none of the frozen enemies or cannonballs say under Lunais’ weight when she jumps on them contradicts my argument here, but to that I say, “Whatever.”
Also, as far as the 3 laser barriers goes, I always interpreted it as your weakening the empire in the past means it had fewer resources to expend on its security system whenever they got around to building it in the intervening years.

I would accept any game justifying walking on water as a time stop ability, but logically if you can move at all you should move through water My best take would be, maybe the force of time stoppage acts upon particles, but because air is such an easy fluid to move through it hardly impacts your ability to move, water could then be walkable but if you were to stay still or try to swim, you'd slowly move through it. This could lend itself to allowing you to jump on enemies, maybe because they're solid they move extremely slowly or even imperceivably slow. That would be able to make it a slightly more challenging platforming obstacle but easier than say disappearing/crumbling floors, or allow consistent logic that leaves enemies where they are but technically they are moving, maybe at a pixel per hour lmao
Those 3 asinine barrier beams were where I rage quit and walked away from Timespinner over 4 years ago. I have never been more disappointed in a modern Indy metroidvania than with Timespinner.
Did not care for Momodora RUM at all. Bounced off it hard in the first two hours and returned it. Minoria sounds like it has all the same issues. Also, I feel like I have to make this joke whether it's valid or not, so...."Minoria? More like MANURE-ia, amirite?"

Didn't find it especially short or easy. Definitely a place or two where I got completely stuck, though.
If I may offer a suggestion, might it be worth adding a new tier along the lines of "not a Metroidvania" or something similar? If I'm remembering correctly, the site you use should allow you to add more tiers and even rename them. There have been a couple games occasionally, like "Dead or School" in the last one video for this, where you struggled with where to put it exactly. This way with the new tier, you can properly separate the games you like but don't really technically count for this tier list and the games that do count but you didn't like. Just to make an easier distinction. "Minoria" - I feel rather mixed on "Minoria" myself. On one hand, I don't actually dislike it, there are plenty of aspects to it I did enjoy. Problem is that I played it immediately after "Momodora IV"...which was just a more solid experience. "Minoria" very much felt like an experiment to try something similar but a bit different. Given this was also the same period of time where the devs had to cancel a fully 3D "Momodora" entry due to poor reception, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Gameplay I thought was fine but the main issue for me stemmed from the models not quite animating too well. So you'd always have this disconnect between what you're feeling and what you're seeing. Story-wise, it was also just okay. While the two endings work well enough, the story itself didn't really really progress in a way where both felt like natural conclusions. There were moments that tried to call into the characters' motivations into question but the characters themselves never quite showed that progression in doubting what they're doing. Though I do remember catching one note that referenced "Momodora IV" so that was nice. Meaning "Minoria" takes place in the same world and is more-or-less a spin-off. As an aside, damn I'm starting to really dislike hearing the term "Soulsvania". Thought I'd get used to it by now but I'm hating it more and more the more I hear it. Eh, whatever.

I agree 100% with everything you said about Timespinner. It’s fun, but doesn’t really stand out in any specific way. As you said, the dialogue can be cringeworthy to the point of being immersion-breaking. Especially the hub-area characters, who constantly remind you of their sexual preferences. It comes off kind of creepy.
SaGa Frontier pools the weapons and items in the same menu sub-panel in its UI like in Minoria and that is real obnoxious. But SaGa Frontier is a retro RPG from 1997 while Mimoria doesn't have an excuse really.
B4 the vid Minoria was very dissapointing imo; a step back in almost every way from Momo 4 especially with the overly bleak tone, cliche story, and i hated how it handled its endings. I Hope Momo 5 is better.
Just for curiosity, have you played GRIME and Momodora Moonlit Farewell? If so, do you plan to cover them? Oh and also have you checked out Frontier Hunter: Erza's Wheel of Fortune? I'm waiting for it to get out of early access to play it and I already bought it, what I like about it is that it's a Metroidvania more akin to a Castlevania or Bloodstained, which in my opinion there aren't many of them.
Actually in minoria, unless you go into the game saves and make a copy, I think you can't get both endings. To get the other one, you have to play NG+. That is the only purpose of NG+, unless you want to play the game but be op. Also, being an 18yo trans girl, I was surprised when you said everyone that plays metroidvanias are around 40 www
i know you have Death's Gambit Afterlife in S-tier but you should reconsider that. probably a B at absolute best. it's just super tedious to get through, a bit bloated with the crafting and inventory too.
There seems to be a huge bias towards the game's story and "it being a classic" rather than everything else. i would personally put both axiom verge games way lower, for today they are really underwhelming theres no way the overlord game isn't in D or even F tier, same with timespinner
I would change the term "furry aesthetic" to plain out Tumblr aesthetic or Fujoshi aesthetic, it's a more accurate description when describing Tevi's designs, the art is fine, the designs not so much.

Timespinner seems to resemble Order of Ecclesia to an uncomfortable degree.
I find Order of Ecclesial to be a lot better, even though it lacks an interesting time travel mechanic.

You were too generous with timespinner, for an "obscure" metroidvania its still pretty overrated, i would put it right next to iconoclasts
