I have broken down a few 390s. They ALL had ashy, flaky oil buildup. So, I am assuming this lucky 390 was not subjected to Pennzoil or Quaker State paraffin oil all its life. More than likely either Castrol or Valvoline.
Was hoping you'd explain the "spline" count. I've been thinking about doing this, but can't figure if 28 is TBird Galaxie and 31 is Mustang Cobra, as some have said.

Exactly. If that is indeed a true Sports Roadster and not just a convertible with an added tonneau cover it deserves to be restored correctly. They are destroying the car's value with those aftermarket bolt-ons.
