Always a great time watching your channel ! I like your Heartburn Hotel Version , Ha , Just kidding Eric ! Wow Elvis with a big band ! How neat ! Maybe this where Elvis started to get his inspiration for the horn sections in the Vegas years ! I love all the Trumpet arrangments in his Vegas shows. If I Can Dream starts with trumpet, , Along with the middle arrangment in Just cant help believin are filled with great trumpet arrangments ! So great Eric Keep up the great work , You Get it for sure . There are Elvis fans and then there are the Elvis fans that go deep into the journey that Elvis takes us on , exploring many hidden places and gems ! I am one of them , and you are for sure ! TCB my friend .
Haha, Heartburn Hotel, that's good! This version isn't really my cup of tea, particularly because I feel they used the house band from the Stage Show and they were getting Elvis off his rhythm, at least that's how it appears to me. I do like discovering new things regarding Elvis, even if I don't like it, I still feel compelled to share it with all my Elvis friends. Thanks! Keep TCB'ing!
I've seen it before but it's always a fun watch. Elvis performed on the Dorsey Brothers show several times; you should check them out they're all great.
Thanks Eric, what a piece of Elvis history! Among my DVDs I think there are videos of the Dorsey shows, but I can't remember if I've watched them. I had heard of this version. I've always thought of Heartbreak Hotel as being blues/jazz rather than rock'n'roll, and this version even more so. Elvis was so handsome at this early stage of his career, no wonder girls went crazy over him. If I'd been around I would have been one of the girls trying to strip his clothes off, LOL
I never seen this before this was amazing really enjoyed it, look.at how young he was there and that deep southern drawl he had back then..love the big band Have a great weekend😊😊😊😊
Hi Cathy! First time for me as well, I loved how they got that side profile shot, you can see facial expressions and gestures that are still there in the 70's... Definitely has that drawl here! Thank you! Have a great weekend as well! I have no plans this weekend so time to catch up on some yard work!
Hiya! Yes, I have seen this. Watched it once and that was enough for me, now twice thanks to you lol. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this version. Though it is always nice to look back at a young Elvis. I also hope your heartburn has been relieved now 😆...TCB⚡
Same for me. As much as I enjoy just seeing him & that voice, it definitely is least favorite version. I read some details about the Dorsey shows, Elvis was very disappointed with how this sounded w/the orchestra. He didn't like the sound AT ALL. He requested (more demanded - as new as he was, he was getting their show good ratings) that he have his own musicians back for future appearances. They granted his request. He had such a good ear - he was absolutely right, this isn't nearly as good as any versions that I've seen w/his own guys.
@@judyzeller3921 Oh now that you mention it, I do recall reading that he didn't like the way this sounded. However, I don't remember reading about him demanding his own boys. Thank you so much for that information. You are absolutely correct, he had a great ear I believe!
Idk about GERDS but drinking milk seems to help my acid reflux even though “they” say it makes it worse, it’s always helped me. Btw who is “they”?! Lol!!
BIG difference between the Joe Gercio orchestra & this one here in '56. Gercio was PERECT for him & his band. This NO WAY. I'd never watch it again -- 'specially w-that over-the-top blaring horn. All wrong for him.
I would assume they just used the Stage Show house band, and I think they were throwing Elvis off of his rhythm as it's not what he was used to with this song. Thanks Carol!
Hello everyone, let me know your thoughts on this unique version of Heartbreak Hotel from 1956? Thank you all so much! Y'all Keep TCB'ing!
Wow never seen that before bless Elvis. Oh dear hope your heart burn gone have a lovely weekend 💕
It was a first for me as well. I have heartburn all the time, GERD... Have a great weekend! Thanks!

I think I've done some in the past, although I'm not sure. Thanks!

Sooooo Sweet. Delicious 🤤
Haha, thank you!
I saw Elvis on Ed Sullivan, but I don’t think I ever saw him on Dorsey’s show. Wow! I like it. Thank you! This was great!
He appeared on there I think 6 times, I'll have to cover some more of them. Thanks!

It's not my cup of tea either, but I appreciate it's uniqueness. I'm constantly battling the GERD, haha... Thank you!

Chocolate milk helps me sometimes... And, "they" are everywhere! Haha

@@TCBEric It wasn't a rhythm thing, it was the sound being wrong for him.
Yes, those horns were too loud, changed everything & I think threw him off. He knew his stuff & knew the sound he wanted & this wasn't it.
