I’m also a Limitless owner, but with the 1717 motor, and because your motor’s outer-can temperature was at 183° F near the end bell, I thought I might pass-on some important information.
When heated above 176° F (80° C), a magnet will quickly lose its magnetic properties.
The magnet will become permanently demagnetized if exposed to these temperatures for a certain length of time or heated at a significantly higher temperature.
Odds are, the internal temperatures near the rotor are 20°F higher than the outer-can temperature.
With this in mind, it’s but another reason for the Castle Creations firm to deny any type of warranty on their high-speed equipment. The motors and ESC’s will be pushed beyond their limits no matter how hard the end user tries to keep it sane.
Gear down and get some high-velocity fans blowing on your motor!

Just something about on road bashing and burning rubber that is so much fun! I had an awesome session with my SWB Felony VW and Rally Car! How can you tell which wires supposed to go to the correct spot on the esc? If you're looking at the back of the can is it ABC left to right?
I had to get it , you and Aussie rc playground keep making me buy them. The thing is so nice , I'm doing this the same as you Matty. Looks so good even sitting on the shelf. Castle is not cheap but definitely worth the money.

I have the Felony and it's hard not to power slide the thing everywhere... The Arrma 1/7ths are perfect... there's a reason why Raz, Kevin and a LOT of speed run people use this chassis. Absolute winner by Arrma.

I've had the same setup for awhile since they released the 1650 kv.... It 's fast. Easily breaks 120 on a straight road

Cool video i am a little late though, That's a crazy fast RC i was looking at a Limitless V1 or 2 but i figured out that the Infraction V2 6s is cheaper and easier to get into at my budget. I might get a Castle 8s combo the 1717 one for my XO-1 and maybe another 1717 or maybe a 1520 for my new Infraction. Keep making the good content.

The Limitless is definitely one of the best speed demons out the box. Yeah 4 - 6s is plenty for bashing around drifting etc. Loads of fun burning rubber. 🔥

That was sick. So ruff when hit the dirt but the stream it was leaving after was cool! :)
I really didn't want to hit the dirt haha, it was super loose dirt so it looked bad, new development area so everything is fresh haha, it's cleaned now though!

46T center diff & 20T pinion for general bashing. Protek/rocket makes 30/35mm aluminum fans as well 👌🏾❤

Nice bud. I prefer converting a V1 Infraction to an almost GT vehicle with a sleek body. It looks better than the limitless stock TBH. But anyways, nice toy! I'm still working on my Felony that I converted into a thunder truck. XLX2, 1100KV motor motor from HW. I just have to work on changing the rear diff and installing the spool in the center. Hehe. Good stuff bud as always!

im excited just watching lol i have been putting off getting into speed run cars. because i know how much money they can consume, if i do get into, im just aiming for 125 mph. thats fairly cheap to reach
I think some of the excitement comes from building up your PB! My current PB is only 101mph using a 124019 wltoys haha.
Surpass make a cheap 1/8th scale 6s kit, you could start their or go better if you can afford to do so.

You should use the 9imod 50kg servo this is really powerfull and cheap
What sticky tape did you use to keep your electronics stay in place?
I use gorilla mounting tape, it's great stuff. Be sure the clean everything with alcohol or break cleaner. Cover entire surface and give it some time (over night) to fully stick

1520 1650 Kv runs too hot I traded it in to castle for 1717 1650 Kv can't wait to see how it does
I want to do a Limitless project, but I want to put a Castle 1721 2400kv motor with the xlx2 esc. I think that would scream!
That would be my next step if I go that far with it. That combo in no joke, probably the best speed run motor right now
My goal is 150 mph, but finding a street that's not busy is going to be my biggest challenge. Good luck, and God speed with your limitless. Lol

If you want to pull more speed, the 1717 will pull a bigger pinion on 8s without running as hot.
Unfortunately I could not get the 1717 in Australia. I think the 1721 might be the step up with the xlx2 if I decide to go that far haha
@@MatthewSimm yeah the new 1721 would be a beast. Not sure how the length is on that motor though. If it fits with the motor and center diff mounts in the stock locations it would be a no brainer.
Sounds good and worked great until my xlx2 spit white fire out of it yesterday as soon as I powered it up…contacted castle and was told the 1717 1650kv shouldn’t be ran with xlx2 at all, so I asked if it would be ok with my Mmx8s and was told not really but if I do then I shouldn’t exceed stock gearing🤷🏼♂️
@@rickthompson7335 Lies!!! The 1717 1650KV is sold as a combo with MMX8s. Whoever told u that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I have that in my Mojave and Limitless. I have 22t pinion in the Mojave EXB and 34t pinion in Limitless with no heating issues
@@benhiman007 I’m just telling you what I was told sir 🤷🏼♂️ I sent the xlx2 in and am waiting to hear what they decide. I just bought it middle March and it didn’t have very many runs on it either. Correct connections/proper battery/logs always looked fine…then bam it’s on fire.

Hey if you make another video with this could you please like just record the sound of the ESC starting up it is very nice like a montage but not really know what I mean just like you don't talk or have any other noise it's like damn it and it's on and then the car goes super fast and then it cuts back to you like actually starting it basically you know like slowly in like a tease or something I hope you understand what I'm saying
Actually if you don't mind could you send me the raw clips just those three clips of the ESC starting up you recording the car going blazing fast beside you and you slowly starting the car from a stop basically I want to edit it just for fun I can send you the edit back

I am 16 years old, I have a kraton exb which is broken, I got a Udr which is broken and a broken slash 4x4. I saved up and I have just about enough money to buy a limitless and then I would be broke. I have been thinking about buying one for over a year now and I found a good deal on the Internet. I really want one. If you were in my position, would you buy the car or buy spare parts for the broken cars? By the way I love the video, its awesome
