    You should rewrite the title to: “14 things you’re gonna hate” to ‘14 things you’re gonna hate, BUT NEED TO HEAR!’
    All great advise!!! Thank you Carey.

    I offer to pay for myself, because some men in my area think taking a woman to an expensive restaurant or venue entitles them to get sex after that date, even if it were the 1st one, and the woman never discussed it. Yes I pay because date rape is a local possibility.

    I think men are missing the mark on not wanting to pay for the first date. Women aren't users because they want the man to pay for the first date. A man paying for the first date shows a generous spirit, being a leader and being a provider. Most women work and have careers they are not trying to go after his money.

    I really liked this video . . A good attitude and positivity helps... not sure about the guy paying for the first meeting though, some women think there is an expectation of something else when the guy pays..

      My opinion, and some people will disagree and that’s fine. I have no problem paying for myself on the first date. I would never not accept a second date because of it if things otherwise went well. Now if I wound up paying for the whole thing, that’s another story lol.

    Lol! Do I have some stories! I spent two hours at a coffee shop listening to a guy (who I actually kinda liked!) talk about his ex-wife. He wanted to see me again, and I agreed, but before I even made it home, which was five minutes away, he texted that he wanted to see someone else.
    Another guy actually stood and surveyed the sports bar while I sat at the table he took me too. He kept eyeing me up and down and got upset at all other topics except a possible one night stand. When I said no, he grabbed my arm and hissed in my ear, "And you're not slender either!" I'm 106 lbs.
    It's been a number of years, and I'm sorry, but I'm not really anxious to get out and do all that again.

      hopefully you have grown and can make better choices the next time out. ;-). Maybe some of my screening suggestions and tools will help you avoid some of those pitfalls. 🤎👍

    • @reflexxuns767
      @reflexxuns767 Рік тому +2

      @CoffeewithCarey I've learned to trust myself. I knew before I left my house that the guy I had planned to meet at the sports bar was "not right" somehow, and he surely wasn't, lol. I won't date someone who gives me an off vibe.

      I’m a man, and while I realize there are many great guys out there, there are also way too many pigs. Apply techniques to dig into the personality of these men BEFORE you agree to meet them. You’ll save time and lessen the temptation to become too cynical about men and dating.

    Carey, I am 82 and attractive. Retired teacher and author of textbooks.
    I met a man who is perfect for me except he has a bit of dementia. Is it likely I won't find another mate at my age?

    • @CoffeewithCarey
      @CoffeewithCarey  11 місяців тому +2

      Only you can speak to whether you will find another partner. I’m not sure how you are meeting people, and how often. But the one thing I can assure you is that dementia never improves; it only gets worse, sadly.

    • @sethtenrec
      @sethtenrec 5 місяців тому

      Mary, I know it’s been five months since you posted this, but whether you meet another mate or not, I don’t think you should be signing yourself up to be with someone heading into dementia. I’m speaking from experience, currently dating someone on this path and I’m going to have to break up with her.
      You have to think about yourself, and value yourself more as well.

      If a dates is only an anticipation on the way to intercourse, and has nothing to do with knowing me as a person, let alone seeking an LTR, save the dinner money, and Al uh a book, “ Every Man’s Battle”, look it up! Until you see women as people and not just potential sex objects, you have no business dating, whatsoever.

    What older guys hate to hear.. Most women around 50 or over prefer younger men if they're honest. At least that's what I've heard from so many women, especially on dating sites. Some say they don't want younger guys but this is only because they're afraid to be left by the younger man for a younger woman. Sure, money and status matter as well. Well, older men usually prefer younger women too, same thing. So many people are only their partner's second choice without being aware of it.. We better stay healthy, fit and attractive, love is superficial in a way.

    • @CoffeewithCarey
      @CoffeewithCarey  11 місяців тому

      maybe you should stay healthy, fit and your most attractive just for yourself. Because you want to. That doesn’t have to be superficial, it can even be evidence of your values.
      Also, I appreciate that you didn’t say “all men” and “all women prefer…” But even saying, “most women prefer” raises red flags for me. Better to view each person as an individual with their own unique ideas, perspectives and preferences. Lumping people together into groups of any kind usually does you no favors. 👍

      I'm over 60, male and recently started dating again. I specifically did NOT want a younger woman. I felt like an over 60 woman is less likely to play the dating games that today's younger women do, she's unlikely to have teenage kids that now I"M expected to fund their college education, and hopefully she would realize we are running out of time, it's time to be serious, not play games. When telling this to the woman i'm dating, she was just sitting there nodding yes.
