Butter knife
Those fancy placemats are antimacassers. They were put on the backs of chairs so people's hair oil would not get on the chair. They were also put on the arms of chairs to keep the chairs clean! Grandma used them. Way easier to wash a doilie than try to clean a chair or sofa! I understand the butter dish thing! Croched lace reminds me of my mama! Memories are wonderful! Love you accent, says the North Carolina gal!!
For your silver butter dish, that is to hold a butter knife on the side. So pretty and practical and I so adore your connections to your Mom, Julie. Love your videos and learn so much. Hugs and admiration from the Colorado Rockies 💗
When I go home to visit my folks, my mama has a butter dish sitting on the kitchen counter...made me smile 😍

In the old days when doileys were used on arms of chairs, the placemat sized ones were placed on the upper back of padded chairs to protect the fabric from hair oils.
My Mom is in Heaven too - 7 years now. I sure miss her, but I am glad she is spared having to live with how crazy everything is now. COVID-19 and the lockdowns would have been really hard on her. Rest in peace Mom 💟
I am so excited that you got the Mercury Glass Lamp.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️😁 Then you had to make me cry talking about “ butter and your Momma!”..... we always had a butter dish and REAL BUTTER ! And it was at room temperature also! 😢❤️

I see many comments about the silver butter dish...I think I agree with it is to hold the knife. That was my first guess 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
You could probably purchase new tacks at a Craft Store to fix the picnic basket...but your idea I think will work and I think they are called “brads” but I’m not sure the taps will be big enough unless you use lots of hot glue 😬

I got one of those butter dishes in 1977 , it came with a small knife that sat on the back.

That little rack on the butter dish is for your butter spreader so u don't put it on the table. Great find.

Wow fantastic haul and so jealous of those pillow cases or shams .I love them..love all the linins. Love everything u bought. My granny had butter dish to. I am 70 so that was long ago..she passed away when I was about 12 .I have that turkey plate..have had it for years .the one u showed but didn't buy. We use it every year..thx for taking us along. Awesome stuff. Exspecially those pillow crochet shams...

That was a fabulous haul. I love the Mercury glass lamp...so pretty. The linens were a great find too. You can use the crocheted ones as bureau and night stand scarves.

Also, some wired garland and/or a checkered ribbon on that candlestick would be darling. You might want to look for a hurricane glass topper to set over the candle as well. I just adore your videos, you're so sweet and creative.

I have the same dollie place mats that you have and the same napkins. Love doilies I still use them in my house everywhere . My mom crocheted I have a lot of her things. We use to sell her things to our church ladies. I miss her. She also is in heaven. I also have the same pillow cases.❤️🥰love all of your haul. ❤️

We have a lot in common. I love vintage butter dishes,(I only use real butter too, and never refrigerate), I have vintage doilies all over my house...(there's just something that says home, about doilies). I love the candlestick. I love pretty linens of any kind. Great haul.

Same here about the butter, always keep it on the counter top in a glass butter dish. My mother also kept butter in a dish, and she is also in heaven! My favourite finds were the large brass candlestick and the basket!

Your butter story of your mama touched my heart. Your Salvation Army has good prices. The bird wall hanging for $1.99 you picked up and left made me wish I was there. The lace pillow cases could also be used over a table so beautiful. My bedroom is shabby chic would look nice. You remind me of the actress Ana Gasteyer. They say everyone has a twin. Those white dishes at .56 are pfaltzgraff heritage pattern dishes. I would have bought them all. Glad you got the footed mugs. I think they are so classic and beautiful. I collect that pattern. So jealous your store had them. Love you thrift videos

I love the brass pillar for candle. You can get some glass hurricane shapes to fit that so a draft wouldn't blow out your candles.

Does the edge of the lid fit in it so it will not set on the table and get butter on the table cloth. Brass is coming back in style. It sells fast. Watch Crazy Lamp Lady.

Their prices are much better & more reasonable than GW. Glad you got to go. Take care. On the butter dish that might be to lay the top sideways?? Talking about butter, when I was young I remember going to a farm with Mamaw & Papaw & getting a big mound of fresh butter right from the churn.

Looked up your butter dish on Ebay some are going for $25 plus sh. Brand Ervinware, at some point looks to have had a glass insert and a little silver knife. 😉 Curious the side holder might be magnetic!?

Great haul. A brass paper fastener may work on your basket. I still use the crochet doilies that my aunts made many years ago.

I am new to watching you tube videos and I have found ones where people buy things at thuft stores and recycle them but I really apreciate how you show how you decorate with the things you buy. Oh, and I decided to go back a couple of years of your videos and working forward. Now, if you changed things just ignore this part but...FYI - you don't need to push many things closer to the camera to be seen. An example was you buying a couple of things for the yellow collored linne on them, well I could see it better in your hands back by you than when you pushed it forwaed. Otherwise I am enjoying your videos.

I spent a lot of time at my grandparent's farm and they had some cows. Drank a lot of unpasteurized milk and also didn't get sick.

I love the napkins..so pretty for a spring table setting and love the tall candle stick.I was wondering if you got the shelf with the heart doors..when I first saw it I thought why did all older country decor have those hearts lol..it cute sometimes but sometimes it ruins the piece
