    It never makes sense to buy a NEW car if your reason for selling one is I can’t afford this or that. You can’t buy a car for $100. The Lincoln was costing you $100 in gas … How will spending more on a new car help save money ??! It’s just a excuse to get a new car . The cheapest option was to keep your Lincoln.

      I mean, I’ve got 5 other vehicles that i have to pay for gas and maintain, so buying an ev will definitely cut the cost there. Plus the loan will be paid off in about a year and a half so, it will be more savings in the long term:)

    I believe you are going to regret your decision. It is going to take a DECADE or more for you to just break even on the cost savings of your MKZ over an e-vehicle. Also, your cold Canadian winters are going to wreak havoc on your e-battery.

      We shall see. It’s not like i depend on an ev, i have 4 other gas cars. Plus the new loan will be paid off within a year and a half, so its more of long term savings than anything:)

    I have an 2017 hybrid MKZ with 75000 km since 6 years now and had only to change oil and the 12 volts battery! Really not expensive to maintain! But I do miss my good old Volvo S70!

    I thought about the Mach-E for a while but it was out of my price range and where I live, I can't exactly go to a local gas station or even a Walmart to charge. If I can't charge it at home, I probably shouldn't be thinking about an electric car anyway. Maybe things will be different a decade from now.

      Right…..thats the thing with evs, its best if you have a charge station at home

    EV with good range. Luxury car. Cheaper than a Genesis. I'm guessing a Tesla Model X or S

    How the transmissions on these mkz/fusions? I know they are ecvt ive been reading and seen lots of failures.. any year better than another? Thanks in advance!

    • @321verykind
      @321verykind  2 місяці тому +1

      I don’t know what you’ve been reading but the e cvt on the fusion Lincoln are actually reliable. 2013 -early 2015 are known to have some bearing failures but overall very reliable

    • @TheLeGeNdPvE
      @TheLeGeNdPvE 2 місяці тому

      @321verykind Yeah that's what I've been seeing bearing failures. There is a company that fixes them for just shy of 4 grand or the dealer can do it for 10k. Reason asking I'm looking at 16-17s with anywhere from 50k-100k miles not km. So I was weary you know? Figured I'd ask someone who owned both lol! So they are solid after 2015? It could be the majority of people don't have issues so they don't post about it? I googled it and I seen alot of 2013-14-15 and 2018's.. complaining about the ecvt and a loud whining noise. Idk 🤷‍♂️ I just don't want to buy one with 88k miles and be in for a 4-10k repair after I just spent 20k on the car you know? Again thanks for any info and help I do appreciate it!!

    Buying electric is a big mistake. They are a fire hazard & very expensive maintenance. Insurance is also expensive as well. I’m not sure why you would have a problem with the Hybrid Engine. Lincoln is known for getting great gas mileage from the Hybrid. As far as the seats go mine fit me like a glove. The way you said you were driving it sounds as though you have a heavy foot on the gas pedal which even in a Hybrid will consume gas. You can’t drive the car like a race car & expect great gas mileage. People are always asking me what kind of car I’m driving because they love the look. Different ones have said they like the sporty luxury look. I love my Turbo 4 AWD. It’s the first 4 that pins me in my seat when I have to go On Throttle. I hope it doesn’t get very cold where you live. If it does then your car won’t start when it gets below a certain temperature. Don’t park it in your garage. If your car catches fire your house will go up in flames too. A woman had her Mercedes Car in for routine maintenance. They gave her an EV Mercedes for a loaner. It was parked in her garage. Her husband heard a sizzling sound. He opened the door. The EV was in flames. He barely made it out alive. The garage & house went up in flames very quickly. The total loss was $1 Million Dollars. They lost everything. The home wasn’t even 10 years old yet. They bought it new when they were married. Mercedes just recalled the EV’s at that time too.

      That’s not true for all evs lol. I did plenty of research before I made the purchase. I drove my 2019 the same way i did with my 2015 and somehow my 2015 gets way better gas mileage so how could that be haha. Your comment is very amusing….

      Electric cars have no maintenance! And are very safe!

    • @jimm2434
      @jimm2434 2 місяці тому

      They’re a fire hazard as I stated. My comments are from actual owners & a maintenance garage mechanic. I find it ironic how you find my remarks amusing @321verykind. You’ve already commented on your regrets about buying your Tesla. I mentioned what manufacturers are having trouble. Tesla, Kia & Mercedes SUV. I’m referring to the specific price of replacing the battery packs in the vehicles. These electric vehicles aren’t new. Some electric vehicles were first made in the 1920’s by a few of the well known manufacturers. I’m not making anything up. I’m not against this type of technology. The reliability & the cost of the multiple manufacturers has rendered these cars expensive to own. If they iron out the problems then consider them. For me, I’ll pass & stick with my 2018 Lincoln MKZ Reserve 2.0 AWD. This car is night & day different from my 2011 MKZ 6 cylinder. I hope Lincoln will return to making cars.

    Why don't you trade for a Lincoln Continental?

    So you worry about the battery on EVs costing more than the actual car If something goes wrong. But you still went for an EV....🤔. If it makes sense to you, go ahead 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @321verykind
      @321verykind  4 місяці тому +1

      That’s only Hyundai/kia/genesis evs that have that problem. The ev I bought has a growing market of used/reman batteries that don’t cost more than the car LOL. I did my research and crunched all the numbers before this commitment:)
