To John Brown...all of them. Great video though Mike. Even as a Medic we kind of just skipped the whole 9mm thing. I never did a pistol range in the Army so this is nice to hear it in grunt terms.

That's why you take the source out 1st, then eject by racking slide several times and/or lock back and inspect. Without a source you can't release the slide and chamber a round. 1st step is make sure finger not on trigger, release mag and store it then rack back 2 time possibly 3 to insure there is no live ammo in firearm then lock back and inspect. The 1st finger is called the index finger

Awesome video. I am going try some of these techniques. To see if they improve myself. My training on pistols was in the Marines on the m9 at the same time as I was getting training on the benelli m4. I qualified expert on both the same week. In the morning shotgun afternoon pistol, after running between both ranges I got to drive everyone back to the armory then to the motor pool. Awesome times.

    Very good video.
Modified unloading procedure, one particularly important in low-light scenarios is to curl your small finger into the magazine well to verify no magazine is installed. And with the action locked open, inserting your small finger into the chamber verifies the gun is ‘clear’. This is an important procedure to master considering enough gun defense scenarios occur at night or in low light conditions.
