If you mask off the lower part of his helmet and dull coat his bare head I think it'll look pretty good, I can't see a reason to own this fig and display him without his face showing tbh. There's already plenty of other Vaders with their helmets firmly secured, they all seem to have the same kinda lame body too. I own the Empire version that came out not that long ago, I had to cut away a fair chunk of the cape's fabric and resew it to get the right size and shape, then trim his waist fabric since Hasbro's clothing job was far too big and didn't sit correctly on him.
I love the variety with this figure, you can choose how scene-specific or generic this figure can be. It definatly feels an upgrade of the ESB vader while not making it feel outdated, great video mate 👍👌👌
I like this figure a lot and and I got him for free luckily. The one solid nitpick I have about this figure is the fact that the helmet never quite looks right because there’s no good way to assemble it. I really wish that maybe the metal prongs clipped into two holes on the bottom of the front of the mask or something.
I got the vintage collection version instead. Already have 3 black series Vaders, and lot of complaints about the helmet being loose on this one. Nice thorough review!
Actually there's over five different reviews I'm just letting everyone know a lot of people report the helmet mask has problems staying on but overall it is amazing figure and I am so pleased that they use The empire strikes back mode which has the butterfly joint articulation, although hot water should be able to fix the problem or superglue, if you look during the beginning of the episode of this video you can see where the face mask piece is coming up not able to connect in the groove by the jaw and neck piece, he's a factory error where the groove it supposed to be in and he already said he used hot water, it was a very relevant thing to say in a review, but it was skipped over, I'm talking about the face mask being attached to the neck part of this helmet, and you can also see it in different parts of this video if you look for it you will see Anakin's white face peering out, it needs attention because this is not just a one figure problem it is a factory mistake, I really think this is the best Vader of all time, but I am disappointed with the factory defect, hot water can help but it will not do the job completely, I felt it was my duty to let everybody know about the major flaw with the depression part of the mask consistently coming undone, otherwise this was a great review, I noticed you kept the helmet off as much as you could, and that you used your finger to keep that part right before you took it off, I wonder Mike if you bought this or was it sent to you by a company,?¿?
Wow essay lol, I feel its alittle analysed here, the mask isn't great at times and needs abit of time to put into place, the gap at the beginning is probably me on my 9th take of the review 🙃 😅, although that being said I'd definitely would like the mask to fit more securely, I do think the flaw is the chin piece should be secured in place. With 3 pieces held together by a few tabs and the helmet being articulated with a head inside will cause it to open up. But then that being said this is a vader with a removable helmet (my opinion is the display option) thanks for watching and Comment, I paid for this plus etc as an import
Same. They might though, at some point. They already have a fully sculpted burned Anakin headsculpt, which you can see part of in the Duel’s End Vader.
Preordered mine but will NOT open it due to the cardback and I’ve the TVC version “mint” along with a loose unit. However, I’ll try to get the regular release at some point if it ever happens or if I find a second one in the wild so I can see all of its flaws for myself. For all the “effort” in TBS, the TVC version benefits from the amazing sculpt and articulations from Dark Times Vader, and it has all of the features as well as the unlit lightsaber hilt.
I just wish hasbro would give us stiffer weapons and the helmet needs something like that, it seems too rubbery and tends to creep up. These are only small niggles though I do wish the weapons has the solidity of Kenner/Palitoy. I loved those and never once swallowed one, so why do they give us adult collector harder plastic. One of my figures looks like it is sporting a krumlauf! (I do hope I spelt that correctly 😂)
Waiting for the 40th Anniversary wave 3 to hit my stores next month or so. Found the TVC version last week. I will keep both version mint, cause I have the Kenobi Vader opened already (not the helmet damage one--it's not out yet). Looking forward to grabbing Luke, R2, & the rebel soldier if I get lucky😅🤞
Looks pretty good, though in the film his helmet lenses were black not the muddy brown of the first flick. Also wasn't Anakin's flesh more pasty white? I would really like to have seen some swap out fists and a force push hand. Nice that they changed the hinges to forward and back for his sabre wielding.
Should I buy this now at 45 bucks? Is the demand high and are they getting increasingly scarce? Is it limited edition? Do you guys think the price will go up or down? Help please 😅
I remember when Hasbro made a big deal out of completely redoing Vader from scratch back in 2017, calling it their ultimate Vader. It's only been six years and I think this sculpt needs a complete overhaul already. Still to stiff, fabrics are all over the place and they still can't get the hilts right.
Only if you don't try to move the head. I don't know what he means when he says the helmet clips on. That implies that there is something that it is secured to but in reality it lightly rests on the head.
There is something you don’t realize these are not the best, and to say that I have to have been seeing Justin’s collection, one word or two words, hot toys they made a new suit for every single Darth Vader across Star Wars, so yeah, take that
This version is hands down much better than the first helmet off Vader that we got. I'm loving how shiny the helmet is. The face sculpt looks great.
Hey Brian 👋🏻

I was today years old when I learned I could preserve the bubble on my TBS anniversary card backs like this.

I have uploaded another video about his helmet it may help
I'll probably get it, but only if I see it in store. Still no chain on the cape around the neck, that would be my nitpick.

With that being said I agree 👍💯
Shouldn’t his eyes be more black. Weren’t they only ever that reddish brown in ANH?
“The emperor is not as forgiving, as I am”
I wish they would do a revenge of the sith Vader

How is your mom’s basement?

Just canceled mine after watching this
How do you get this so early?
Was an import
Just got him myself 👍
Great figure, but that helmet is a c*nt 😅.
Great video, buddy 👍
Lol watch my other video, the helmets fine lol
is this 4 inch ? or 6?

Does the helmet at least stay on securely?

Is it me or does his neck look elongated? It completely turned me off.
Even though the ESB one has no removable helmet, I still think it’s the best
great figure, but i wished they´d given him his eyebrows back.
the head has way toomuch colour. Needed to be pale as the moon
Yeah you'd think the artist was smoking crack on making the face😂
There is something you don’t realize these are not the best, and to say that I have to have been seeing Justin’s collection, one word or two words, hot toys they made a new suit for every single Darth Vader across Star Wars, so yeah, take that
The gap between the mask and the base is a turn-off for me.
Nice for Collection but not for a toy, since ALL come out só easy (mask and hands).
For me, "Obi-wan" still better than This One.
