I passed a Gino’s the other day in Glen Burnie Maryland. There are 3 still in operation. Also, it’s Ma-hail-ia Jackson. One of the most famous gospel singers of all time.
@The UpLIFT Channel It's a pleasant surprise to hear that Gino's is still around in Glen Burnie, Maryland! Nostalgic dining experiences can be quite special.😊
It looks like you missed SANDYS Hamburger Chain, which started In 1956, it lasted until 1981, and then Sold their franchise, too, Hardy!! I remember we had a SANDYS in Memphis TN, I would take my girlfriend to SANDYS on date night When I was 18 and my girlfriend Brenda Lee, which was 16 at that Time....I remember hamburgers Were 15 cents and our drinks was A dime!! Memories are just Memories and those were the days I thought they would never end.....
@Milton Hollis Your reminiscence of SANDYS and the affordable prices from back in the day brings a sense of nostalgia. It's beautiful how memories can transport us to those unforgettable moments in our past. 🌟🍟
@BabbleTop You know I married that date named Brenda Lee tha i t took to SANDYS and stayed married to her for 50 years until she Passed eleven years Ago and never remarried because we had three Son's and now I have 7 grandchildren m. So thank you for those pleasant memories @babble top
@Milton Hollis Your story serves as a source of inspiration, reminding us all of the profound impact that love and commitment can have on our lives and the lives of those we hold dear. If you have more memories or stories you'd like to share, please feel free to do so. 💕👨👩👦👦
I ate at a very obscure chain called Burger Carte in WV in the late 1980s. I was just a kid but I still remember it being the best burger I've ever had.
@zmbdog Burger Carte in West Virginia must have had something truly special to create such a memorable burger experience for you. Sometimes, those hidden gems offer the best culinary surprises!😁😊
@Daniel Cassabon Who knew that burger joints could have such heated rivalries? The White Tower vs. White Castle feud sounds like a burger war for the ages! 🍔⚔️😂
I miss Burger Chef and Lums. I do wish my memory was better, but what little i do remember is the feelings I got watching this. A vague recollection here and there are all that's left. I was a little kid when I went there.
@Jack Mack aka #HeavyGuyHaiku Nostalgia often brings a sense of warmth and comfort. If you ever want to relive some of those memories, you might consider trying to recreate some of the dishes or experiences you enjoyed at Burger Chef or Lums. Sometimes, even a taste or smell can bring back a flood of memories and feelings from the past. Enjoy the journey down memory lane! 🍔🍟🌭
@Shady RK9 Yes, Burger Queen was a real chain! The fact that there's only one remaining Burger King in your area, located downtown, highlights how the fast-food landscape can change over time."🙃
@Cesar Mendoza Fast food content is a guilty pleasure for many, and it's a fantastic way to make your 2:30pm break more entertaining. Thanks Keep enjoying!" 🍔🍟📺😊
The last Geno's actually closed in the early '90s. And they've actually revived the business in the 2010s. They were also had the franchise rights to Kentucky Fried Chicken until the '80s.
@Jane Doe It's always intriguing how fast-food availability can vary by region. We appreciate your suggestion for a Jack In The Box video and will consider it for future content!😊
Wow! Abe Vigoda!🤯 Miss that guy. Fish was a great spinoff, really would be appropriate for today's audiences. Most of these are new to me. Growing up in the Monterey Bay in the seventies, I only heard of these things through movies and TV.
@Charles Urrea Abe Vigoda's legacy lives on through his memorable roles. Exploring the pop culture of the '70s through movies and TV is like taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane.😊
@Big Bad John While D'Lites, Lum's, and many other beloved restaurants may no longer be around, it's heartening to know that some of their spirit lives on in various forms. It can be a special experience to revisit those places that hold a special spot in our memories and enjoy the flavors and atmosphere they once offered. Here's to keeping those memories alive and savoring the unique tastes of the past! 🍔🌭🍟🥤
D'Lites really rocked. Everything about them reminded you of Wendy's, but a healthier version. The architecture, decor, and even the burgers whispered "Wendy's." The salad bar (even better than the Wendy's bar) featured Marzetti natural salad dressings, known at the time as T. Marzetti brand. If they relaunched in today's health-aware environment, I believe they would do well. ⬅
@Big Bad John D'Lites sounds like it had a unique charm, offering a healthier take on fast food with a touch of nostalgia. The salad bar with Marzetti dressings must have been a highlight for many.😊
You know the one restaurant I always heard of but never saw one in real life is the famous Big Boy Burger with that creepy smiling cartoon guy whom looked like he stepped out of the 1950's; the most famous ref to him was in the first Austin Powers movies.
I remember going to several of those restaurants on my spring break headed from Indiana down to Florida. They weren’t horrible, but that statue of Big Boy is definitely creepy like the Burger King King dude.
@RajaReign78 Ah, the classic spring break road trip! The Big Boy statue and the Burger King King have their own quirks that make them memorable, even if they lean towards the unique side.💯
After watching this video, I can guarantee that everyone can go out driving around their city and find at least three fish-and-chicken or gyro stops that you could tell used to be a Tastee-Freez (or a reasonable knockoff).
@Anthony Rupert Discovering these remnants of the past can be a fun and nostalgic experience, and it's a testament to how food culture and restaurant history continue to influence local dining options. So, if you're ever in the mood for some fish-and-chicken or gyro, keep an eye out for those places that might have once been Tastee-Freez or were inspired by it. You might stumble upon some hidden gems! 🍔🍟🍗🌯
