Once we lose it, there's a slim chance that one of those bad mojo blasts might hit us and we're all gone.

They changed costumes because they were battle worn and the mansion was burned down. They couldn't get clean spares of their current uniforms, so they're wearing what they wore when they were working from Muir Island.

It's not an island, it's Asteroid M which fell into the ocean in the original series. He just raised it out of the water
That's good writing. In the "Sanctuary" Episodes in X-Men TAS at the end of the part 2 episode, Magneto safely guided his Asteroid M down to Earth into the Ocean which kept it intact. It was truly a safe haven for the Genosha Mutants but Cortez ruined it for everybody when he turned on Magneto.
"Sanctuary" was one of my favorite episodes in the original series 🔥

In another timeline, Miguel O'Hara, Spider-Man 2099, wielded the power of Mjolnir as a deterrent, essentially becoming the leader of Earth. What's sadder is that in both scenarios, an overwhelming iron fist is needed to keep both Humans and Mutants in line...

What Magneto did doesn't only the humans tho, it affects everyone. There are entire hospitals now that just dead, mutltiple planes just fallimg out of the sky, power is gone everywhere for both mutants and humans.
Through I suppose Magneto would atleast offer a safe haven for Mutants to live on Asteroid M but who knows how things will turn out.

I think that the magnetic fields altering will not only mess with all technology in the world, but with climatic effect in the world too, so a lot of mutants and humans would die. I remember vaguely that in the marvel ultimate universe something like this happened, and kill a lot of people and heroes in the process.
Basically the way I saw it explained is that Magneto stripped the magnetosphere from Earth. Which basically means everything gets fucked by solar rays.

Actually it was stated that Cable is the perfect host for the full power and it actually has NO negative side effects on him. The issue with Nate was that he is an imperfect clone so the same amount of power will actually kill him. But Nate got a tattoo enchantment that got rid of his genetic handicap.

Listen I'm no scientist but I think Magneto's actions are implied to permanently remove electricity from the world. I also think the magnetic field protects us from solar radiation, which would absolutely kill humans and mutants. I kinda wish they would be more explicit because the stakes are unclear. If it's just electricity then what Magneto is doing isn't really apocalyptic. And if it's going to make life on earth impossible it would also kill 99% of all mutants. So either way, either Charles or Erik is overreacting and I'm not sure which.
Magento really causes an Extension Level Event. Without the Magenetic Fields, it's so many bad things that will suddenly happen. Natural disasters, radiation, etc. That's not counting the Earth's core either.

This episode is truly remarkable, and the action is masterful! THAT ENDING WAS INSANE ASF!!!
While understanding Charles's reasoning for giving Magneto the mansion, the man still neglected his students and pupils. Look where they are now: on the brink of war, he's lost two team members to Magneto (Rogue quite literally went rogue). I love how Storm and Jean see each other as sisters, and their bond together is really wholesome. That line: “Make them mind your weather, sister. And them weather your mind" is such a good line!
I find it interesting that Bastion still loves his mother despite what he did to her and turned her into a sentinel zombie, which makes me think he's not as emotionless and robotic as we were made to believe since he is part human. It's scary how powerful Bastion is, considering he's basically a one-man Sentinel factory.

I believe the reason for the new suits is because their regular suits were all damaged or destroyed in battle or the destruction of the mansion and their backup base they moved to only had old costumes around.

The magnetic field is important to deflect solar radiation, without it the world is cooked basically, noting will survive, wouldn't matter if you go underground.
Muir island is the original base. The suits are a combination of the original suits from Giant Size XMen in the 70s and Jim Lees X-men in the 90s. The base that Magneto created is called Asteroid M. The quote is “what did you expect, yellow spandex?” From 2000s X-men where they all wore black suits. The X-men have been out since 1963 and there are years and years of history and lore that they are recreating and reimagining for this show and they are doing a fantastic job! Best X-men show ever!
If Magneto was trying to kill everybody except the more powerful mutants, he would be thinking like a freaking Nazi. And we know how he feels about them. 🤦🏾

As you we watched this episode we saw Charles take over Magnetos mind. With Rogue on our side Charles could have disabled his shield for Rogue to absorb his powers and now take our time for Gold team or now go assist.

Congratulations Magneto, you are potentially killing billions, humans and mutants alike in 1 of 2 ways
1) the magnetic fields keep out excess solar winds. The lack of field could lead to all the atmosphere on earth being stripped away by these winds
2) the magnetic fields disappeared means lots of temperatures rising and all that yummy radiation getting in. Everyone could literally be cooked alive

Magneto stripping Wolverine is the catalyst for Xavier fucking obliterating his mind since he was so pissed about it. So that was the “birth” of Onslaught, since he’s the combo of Magneto and Xavier’s dark sides.

In the OG Series, Master Mold TOLD Trask & his team that mutants are humans, so their directives were f'kd up and essentially, sentinals were created to end humanity! So the X-Men handled that threat!!

What do you mean?
Jean is an omega level mutant with omega level telepath and lafer developed alpha level telekinesis. Cable is only an alpha level mutant(many say that's bs due to his feats), but he has omega level telekinesis and alpha level telepathy. Without the Phoenix, he beats her in a battle of force, whereas she trumps him leaps and bounds with telepathy. His powers are normally used to surpress his techno-organic virus from killing him, but sinister forced him to use them
With the Phoenix, Jean washes him in both even without the virus.
