I would not pay Tanev much. 4 million tops and NOT long term.
I hate Keefe even more. He massively screwed up Robertson and made him hate Toronto. So glad he's gone.
Keefe made some questionable coaching decisions. Other than Robertson being in and out of the lineup too often, Justin Holl's poor play, was relied upon too much.
With Minten and Cowan as potential replacements for Robertson, his trade request isn’t that big of a deal. Losing Bert sucks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they can replace him in free agency cheaper than his asking price.
Why do Leafs players always want traded after a few years?
Another good player Robertson gone to light it up somewhere else. The Leafs are so mismanaged it's not funny. God it's hard being a fan of this team.

Hes been injury prone since he was a rookie in the AHL up until last season as a rookie in the NHL. Anything other than a prove it, 1yr deal would be mind boggling. Let him sit & waste his potential even more

Signing Domi not Bertuzzi was the correct move. The Leafs should play Domi and Matthews on the same line a lot more!
The Leafs have screwed themselves signing Tanev. He won't finish the season and won"t finish the contract. The big regret will be losing Robertson, watch where he goes.
They style of play that the Leafs seem to want is not Robertson's game, he is small and if they " are stuck with Willy " and Mariner seemingly untradeable, there are there is no more room for him so it will be good for both sides if they honor his request. Tree wants size and needs bigger dmen and a goalie. I think he is still active in a Mariner move, however that would look. We may not know that until trade deadline or next summer when he walks, but he may not get they payday he is hoping for in TO. Stay tuned...
I got a feeling canucks will pick up Robertson and give him as much time to play and proves everybody's wrong
Robertsons play never impressed me...seems like in his interviews he always felt he was entitled to be a star without earning it. Liljegren still has a chance to be good if he ever learns how to hit or absorb one. i wish the leafs could have worked out a deal with Bertuzzi
