Infidel, there's only one way to stop those judgmental assholes.. Judge them for what ever band that they listen to/ band shirt do to them , what they do to others
NOT GIVEN NOYB Who cares, in some ways you are also judgemetal by saying "If you actually understood his videos you'd know that. You're an idiot". Live and let live.
Infidelamsterdam Hey, I watched a couple of videos and you seem like a really cool guy. I am definitely not emo, and I personally hate shit like Marilyne Manson, but I have no disrespect towards Emos. a lot of my good friends are emos and their really not that bad. I fucking love metal. I always have. I was raised on it thinking rock was the best thing ever. I know your more of a Metallica guy. I wouldn't consider myself a Metalhead. I don't have long hair or own that many band T-shirts but would you discriminate me if you met me because of these things? I know what im about to say is probably gonna get me chewed out but I love Disturbed, once again, would you discriminate? I live in a bible belt and its fucking annoying because people think im a Satanist because I have a Disturbed hoodie. And im worried because I also don't wanna be called a poser just because I love metal, yet I don't have long hair or know how to growl (which I really want to learn.)
When my daughter started listening to alternative music she got into emo and core. So her and I went onto UA-cam and spent hours listening to emo and core music. I would rather have her listen to this than bullshit like Britney Spears and shit. Moving on, she wanted to explore more genres within the metal industry. So off we went to explore every genre within metal known to man. We listen to a wide range of metal, whatever we want to listen to. It's great, whether it's emo, core, goth, death metal, black metal, melodic, atmospheric, blackened, industrial, funk... Etc. No boundaries, no limits just great music and great quality family time.
Wow, you're awesome! My family doesnt understand Alternative stuff and Sub-culture like goths for example. My parents hate hardcore music and my grandparents said they all do drugs and didnt have any jobs. When i was younger i hate it too because i was raised that way, then i learned to not judge people by their looks. I gave it a try to listen to all kinds of music because once a metalhead were making fun of me on youtube because i listen to only bubblegum pop music. So i was like, i will give it a try and i love it without myself noticing. I love Alternative music, i didnt end up doing anything bad lol. Once my mom found out i bought like a black bracelet with a skull on it and she seems terrified. They didnt know yet that i enjoy hardcore music because i know their reaction will be negative. Telling them i like to wear black and listen to Slipknot is like coming out lol.
Warachara Upapong Just hang in there, metal is a way of life and we are one very large family. We will be your support system and help you through the tough times. We have your back. Just stay true to your love for music and the music itself will get you through good times and bad times.
Warachara Upapong If you ever need anyone to talk to please write to me, I am here to listen and help. My email address is louisecroukamp@gmail.com. I will introduce you to my daughter, she is 15, you guys may get along awesomely. Also always remember, don't get into the whole genre boundary thing, listen to whatever makes you feel something. If a certain type music evokes an emotion within you then it has achieved what is was meant to achieve. Go with that feeling. I always do the goosebumps test, if a piece of music gives me goosebumps then I know that piece of music is for me.
It's a pleasure, I know what it's like to be shunned by society due to being different all my life. So can totally relate, and believe me, back in the 80's it was so much worse and totally not tolerated. We went through hell, lol. But we survived and came out of it so much stronger.
I just came here from some metal forum, they did an article for a progressive band called Polyphia. The entire comment section was filled with "These guys look scene so their music is terrible." Their music is far from terrible. It is some of the best guitar work i have heard from any scene band EVER. I proceeded to tell them that looks don't mean shit if a band can play good music. I also informed them of your channel so i expect to see a few of those jackasses commenting soon. Stay metal, you're the man.
I really dislike people who wear shirts with bands they don't listen to to seem edgy, okay sure it looks cool, but seriously what is the point. I'm not "scene" or "emo", Sure I wear band shirts of bands I like and listen to, I may style my hair in a certain way but I sure as hell aren't a poser. I respect whatever music people listen to. I don't think that my music is 'the heaviest shit ever' I hardly think it's even heavy at all. I don't go around saying how 'cool' I am because I listen to 'heavy' stuff. If I like the music, then I like the music. I like all different genres, but to be fair I think it's reall pathetic when people bash you on what you listen to.
Thing is i usually see it with older classic bands, One day i was saw this girl with a rolling stones shit and i asked her about it and i swear on my mommas grave she asked 'who are they? are they some kind of band or somthing?' and i just turned around and walked away
Gerardjinglesmyballs I agree with your first point. The band t shirts I own are all of bands I listen to at the _very_ least, semi-frequently. Same thing goes with concerts, I'll typically only go if I'm familiar with who's playing.
Gerardjinglesmyballs I I'm sorry, but may i ask why you care in the first place? Literally, the biggest generation of babies. If you're going to choose a group to define you, then why do you give a shit about what other people think? Is it because you feel like maybe you don't actually belong in this group? I can wear whatever the hell i want but the difference between you and I is the fact that i can have pride in myself when someone tries to judge me on it. The only real group you're in is your own group.
How can u even dislike this video? there is no reason cause he's just saying he's fine with everything and he likes to have contact with any person he likes without looking to how he/she is dressed like most others do. respect!
I honestly like all sorts of metal, whether its Thrash Metal or Metalcore. Being raised with Iron Maiden, Dio, Slayer and Immortal, I can see how the music has changed. Bands like Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, All That Remains and Shadows Fall are still really great bands. Metal is metal, that's how I see it. Metal will never die.
+newb dood I don't have a problem with core at all, I have a problem with its followers. Especially when they say something like "I'm a metalhead" and by that they mean only core, then they proceed to insult metal and think it sounds like shit. That's what makes people angry as fuck.
I'm a 15 (almost 16) year old Christian kid that has hair almost down to my chin, which, I guess is scene.. (I just like how I look with it.) I don't wear skinny jeans because I'm not really that interested in it. (And that's okay.) I listen to The Agony Scene, Alesana, All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, August Burns Red, Beartooth, Becoming the Archetype, Blessthefall, Bring me the Horizon, Chelsea Grin, Crown the Empire, Enter Shikari, Fit for a King, For Today, I Prevail, I See Stars, ISSUES, Memphis May Fire, Miss May I, Oceans Ate Alaska, Of Mice & Men, Phinehas, Pierce the Veil, Silent Planet, Suicide Silence, Thy Art Is Murder, Underoath (R.I.P), We Came as Romans, Whitechapel, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Woe, is me and a whole lot more. I'm 100% sure that someone will have a problem with that and I really don't care. Also, I like your videos and I respect your message. Subscribed. ^_^
I don't think people should be discriminated against due purely to the music he/she listens to period. Wether they like Heavy metal, Metalcore, pop punk, whatever. It's just music. They're all apart of the Metal genre but the styles differ. As long as you're a nice person, I don't care what music you listen to. Personally my taste in music is pretty varied, I like heavy metal bands like black sabbath and Metalcore bands like Of mice and men and some pop punk/ post hardcore bands like A day to remember. It's just music guys, who cares if you don't like it. Judge people by their personalities not fashion and music taste.
You're correct, but a lot of the fans of metalcore and pop punk tend to hate on metal, calling bands such as Emperor gay. That's what pisses me off, but if you like those bands and are nice that's cool.
So if Hitler has a great personality and treats me great as a friend, I should judge him on that only? Very many faults in what you are saying. Personality is bullshit until you see what the person's vices are.
To the guy who mentioned Adolf Hitler, there is a huge difference between judging someone on their personality as oppose to their music taste, and judging someone like hitler based purely on his personality. I don't get what your argument is, to be honest. If I shouldn't judge someone on their personality, then what should I judge him on?
I knew a nerd guy with with regular clothes( a doublechesterfield long sleeve t shirt) , regular jeans , short hair, no tattoo ,no piercing, no nothing at all! he would listen to bands such as Malevolent Creation, Massacre, Diabolic, Resurrection, Uncanny. Authorize, Luceriferon, Desultry, Bolt Thrower,Asphyx,Immolation,Ripping Corpse,Necrophagia,Sinister,Gorguts,. But i knew a guy with full metal style ( long hair, tattoo, piercings , leather jacket,MegaShit t shirt lol) ..His ultimate TRUE death metal was Cannibal Corpse lol
That's quite normal you know? at least in Argentina I meat a lot of metalheads like that but...... BUT... often they look like that because they think that "They listen to true black/death metal, clothes doesnt matter so metal style clothing is bullshit and you are bullshit if you wear this shitty leather jacket and those stupid piercings and tattoos"... =/... aaanyway...
Outside of concerts, I look like a really, really straight edge white girl. I have a short pixie cut and don't dye my hair anymore, rarely wear bandshirts (mainly because I only buy them on concerts and from bands I really love so I only have like two) the only thing "metal" I wear day to day are those "nordic-ish" silver rings. While on a concert/festival I wear my camo pants, some band shirt and a vest with patches (Idk what it's called in english, it's not my first language) and boots. In short, if you meet me outside of a metal concert, you'd never guess I listen to some weird shit (like Marduk, gotta love them!) or drink tons of beer and mosh every other weekend and that's ok because well, that's only one part of who I am (maybe a big part but still). I don't care if I am not troo Kvlt or whatever because grils can't be kvlt anyway!
I don't know why we just can't all get along. Somewhere down the line, someone loves Asking Alexandria but also love Slayer and Metallica. Somewhere in the line, we like the same stuff. I don't see why we should let the way we dress or see themselves as be a barrier, and hate on each other for it. For instance, during a Sabaton concert in the UK I had camouflaged trousers, boots, Sabaton t-shirt and my battle vest on. They were some "emo" type kids there seeing Sabaton and they were actually intimidated by me when I walked by, it was the most dumbest thing ever. I approached them, and had a little chat and they were pretty cool dudes. Despite them listening to Bring Me the Horizon they still listened to Sabaton, Slayer, Iron Maiden and one of my favorite bands Toxic Holocaust. Again, I don't see why we should basically put up a barrier and stop each other from communicating despite possibly having similar interests.
Yes! I listen to all sorts of stuff myself - various types of metal, post-punk, new age, and blues. I find it sad that people within the metal community can't get along with each other and I'm friends with people who don't even listen to metal. Most of my friends listen to pop punk, my closest friends listen to pop punk but also Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden. Generally speaking, I don't get why people judge other people's character based on their musical tastes. I mean, I really don't like pop punk but it doesn't mean I can't get along with or be friends with someone who does like it - chances are in my social circle that they also listen to heavy metal as well, and are willing to listen to some of my favourite stuff too - or that we have other common interests besides music taste. As for the way someone looks I find it funny af when someone tells me that I don't look like the kind of person who would listen to both Iron Maiden and Billie Holiday.
Amber Lindemann-Kruspe Unfortunately, that is how us as human beings are. We always judge a book by it's cover. It's the same concept but we judge people on what music taste they have. Or even how people dress. It is just one of those things, I think the "elitists" don't want Goth or Emo's to give metalhead's a bad name, since they are more open to the public by the way they dress ect. I always wear by battle vest, so it is pretty obvious I am a metalhead, and I get nods or even have a full conversation with someone in public. But, this has never happened with a goth or emo. Basically, I think metalhead's think that since goths and emo's tend to be people at a young age, make as you would say "They make an ass of themselves." And give metal a bad name which is stupid. I will never understand why we can't all just get along. Maybe one day we all will. Maybe one day.
I have distanced myself from the metal community. It is still one of my favourite genres but the community is way too elitist. A scene that is so insistent on being allowed to wear and listen to what they want but are first to criticise and poke fun at people outside the scene who wear and listen to what they want. The double standards have put me off the scene completely. I'll keep listening to the music I love but fuck the community.
i agree i run an internet radio station dj nightly and i play all types of music in the end we all have a shared love for music i was a burnout my parents were hippies scene and emo kids are just the next generation of metalheads expressing themselvs. The aint hurtin no body just doing there thing
Its called "metal elitists", and they ruin the genre for me. I wear shirts like HIM, 2Pac, etc all the time. I also love bands like Toxic Holocaust and more extreme stuff. You can't judge someone if they enjoy other types of genres or genres in metal. As long as they enjoy metal, it shouldn't matter. Infidel got it spot on.
tbh i like "emo" bands. hell, my first concert was pierce the veil and issues. but if it falls under the category of rock or metal i will probably like it. i even like some rap. i hate that if i wear a pierce the veil or an asking alexandria shirt im seen as a whiney emo poser but if i wear an iron maiden or slipknot shirt im seen as a regular metalhead. i just like metal and rock in all forms wether it be post hardcore, grunge, grindcore, punk, thrash metal or metalcore.
hiphop and country music are alright. I like and accept alot of things but the only thing i ended up still hating it, is Blood On The Dance Floor's music.
'We all wear black, we're all satanists, we're all nazi's.' I love you. You made me feel like I'm not 'disgracing' the metal name aha.. You're amazing and your stuff is great.!
Oh my god, this video is what every person in the metal community needs to see. I listen to metal, well, why else would I be here. I don't dress like a "typical metalhead" but I still consider myself one. This video just solidifies how great the metal community can be. Your points are amazing, and your videos are awesome. Keep it up, man. \m/
Dude, you have said it perfectly. I like all different types of metal and I absolutely HATE people that judge it. Definitely subbed to your channel. Very wise dude right here.
Raigeki To be weird is to be different, being different is to be unique; being unique is to be fucking original :P I love slipknot, pantera, slayer, motorhead and all those other awesome motherfuckers, but nothing compares for me personally to Korn. I'm a Korny fuck and proud :)
Well said, from a Goth Elder I could not agree more :). I know this comment is late, but I am glad I found your channel. We struggle with elitism in the Goth culture a lot. There are many channels on UA-cam discussing this very topic, but when I speak to these "elitist Goths" their argument is that new comers to the culture do not know anything about it. They merely like the fashion, but have no idea about the music, literature, films etc. Is this something that also occurs in the Metal culture where newcomers just play dress up but have no clue about the history or genre of the music?
I avoided metalheads since a long time precisely for this reasons thank you so much for this video, it's good to know there are people out there with this perspective. The fact that some people set rules on what's metal or not, is against everything metal in the first place I always thought METAL = NO RULES! So many people don't like things to change I guess
Spot on, dude. Way too many people are obsessed with image and constantly make snap judgments about people based solely on appearance or personal taste. People should be judged by their actions, not the clothing they wear or the music they listen to.
I don't give two shits about what others think of me & what I listen to & wear...I listen the genre of music that I grew up with & wear t shirts & jeans...
I went to a metal concert and a guy was wearing a BVB shirt as they just played there like 2 weeks before no one hated on him we become friends we talked to a lot of people around us about they and they were the nicest people i ever met. It people on the internet that cause all this hate. I don't like BVB like i hate them but that doesn't mean i have to hate on people who like them
I love metalcore and deathcore but sadly I am still not a metalhead to other metalheads who listened to brutal death 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️to be honest I am listening to Anime OST a lot and other genres too
THIS GUY IS A FUCKING GENIUS I listen to Mayhem and I listen to Black Veil Brides. I listen to Cannibal Corpse and I listen to Pierce the Veil. I listen to Darkthrone and I listen to My Chemical Romance, point being,I listen to a lot of music, metal, rock, punk, and industrial. And i go around wearing band shirts of emo bands but I also have an intense love for "real" metal. Black,Death,Folk, Thrash,Speed,Power, whatever. I don't understand why someone can't like multiple styles of music, heavy or not. This guy is the realest metalhead I have ever seen.
I saw this account on Instagram dedicated to rating battlevests. The guy would tear down people and say their vest is garbage because it had bands he didn’t listen to. Absolutely infuriating. The worst part is you can’t stop people like this, there will always be assholes.
When I first saw the name of this video my first thought was "oh no another person hating on us emos" that makes me so happy to hear someone defending emo and scene and others
Infidelamsterdam His videos are jokes yuh. As in, they're literally jokes. Not meant to be seriously. Doesn't mean they're bad. But I suppose it's a matter of opinion.
Black metal Werewolf is another metal head youtuber who is respectful of metal . He even goes the extra mile. when defending the genre . .not every one understands his sense of humor..
fuck i just love your point of view. And you're so calm and actually tought about it. There is so much thought behind this and so much sense. Can barely find stuff like anymore. And so fucking tolerant. Thanks for sharing!
Growing up as a kid my dad is a metalhead so growing up with metal music and wear a cannibal corpse shirt to a motionless a white concert and got shit from people like yeah i know seeing a guy wearing this shirt to different style music but again growing up with all types of metal music so if i find something that sounds good I'll listen to it but thank you for making this video \m/
I really like this video. I especially liked it when you didn't trash Bring me the horizon because you don't enjoy it but simply just stated it wasn't your thing. People tend to think that because they don't enjoy a band or anything that they trash it. New subscriber!
Charlie L me i like to trash "real metal" ironically to piss off elitists it is the funniest shit But i generally respect all music as long as it has A) meaning B) a purpose So pretty much anything but stuff like gucci gang
For me as a half black , half asian guy who grew up in the white "rich" area it was really hard to be accepted by other asian or black people cause I kind of fidn't fit in. I am also really bad with technical stuff and dancing but I do play Guitar, Drums, Bass and Recorder. Then when I was 8 (25 now) I won the newest Album of Nightwish (Century Child) which also got me into guitar playing. Then with 13 through skating met some people who were also into metal but more thrash- and speed metal. Then when I was 14 I made some Metal Friends when I was alone at an Aboted Show, we then founded a Metal band but split after one EP because of our diffecrences in Musical interests. Now I listen too mostly (Heavy, Speed, Power, Death, Deathcore, Metalcore, Djent (found out that a lot of bands I listened too were labled as this on the internet), Beatdown, Grindcore, Goregrind and Slam Death.
When I "joined" metal we were all brother, metal-head punker, rocker, everyone who wanted to runaway from the world..could find an home where we were.. now(seeing how my cousin think about metal) it's all "how you don't know this, so you are poser, I'm not poser just cause I wear metal shirt, stud and chains".. is just cause they want to feel "alternative"..they don't want to find a way to escape from reality, a place where find what you're searching for..and that's why I hate them..
this reminds me of someone i used to be friends with, once upon a time. anything i listened to if it was heavy metal, some form of thrash, post hardcore etc he'd hate on it. no so much the genre but each individual band, or individual in the band i.e. "the guitar is sick but the singer sound like shit." so in the end i stopped talking to him cos he was just too much negativity in my life
"the deserted scene" i gotta get in on that shit deserted metal.....metal about being deserted on an island and songs about SOS's and coconut milk..... i like it....
Dude you're awesome. I don't know why people judge people such as me like an "emo" or "scene" looks. People judge us so often and it's bullshit. You're amazing dude. Just thank you.
In my area there is very few metalheads All the metalheads I know are mixed Theyre all cool I know an emo a scene kid and nu metal kid a death metal fan a melodeath fan a rivethead and a few others Doesnt make a difference once theyre nice people They listen to the sane stuff I mean I keep an open mind I could go from children of bodom to slayer to cannibal corpse to slipknot to bmth to miw to marilyn manson
This is so true. At first glance, I'm just an emo dude with a band tee, black skinny jeans and Vans with flippy hair, but if you get to know me, you'll find out that I am metal as hell at heart. I mosh, I listen to the HEAVIEST bands (Cannibal Corpse ftw) and I headbang like I'm insane. Judging someone by how they look is one of the most dumbest things that can be done
I love you. I admin a page on a Facebook called Metalheads Who Love Cats, and elitist pricks come out of the woodwork all the time passing judgement on those who don't listen to what they deem heavy enough. You hit the nail on the head. Thank you.
@stroodle01588 Lets not! I love metal, I love The Devil Wears Prada and Cannibal Corpse but I still want them separated into subgenres. It's easier to discover other bands more similar to specific subgenres you're looking for or are interested in. Also Persona non grata means an unwelcomed guest.
Thank you dude. I really appreciate your thorough feedback on the topic. The weird narrow judgements happening everywhere are disappointing to say the least. It means a lot to hear this being shared; Stay awesome!
I agree i get a lot of Shit becuse i lisent evrything from Avril Lavigne, to balck Veil Brides, to Joan jett, to Metallica, to the Pretty Reckless. IT Just pisses me off
Although I consider myself sort of a metalhead, I listen to a LOT of music people consider to be emo (twenty one pilots, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy) as well as music that is ACTUALLY emo (Brand New, Sunny Day Real Estate, Basement, Orchid, Pg. 99). People really shouldn't stereotype others just a for what shirts they wear or their hair style. Just listen to your music and screw anyone who tells you that your music sucks. Sorry. I got a little passionate there.
I had a beautiful education,my parents explained to me that i must respect, and my father was -still- a metal head,so it was cool because when i was a little girl,i used to listen to Top 40 and he respected that. When i grew up,i became more open with metal and emo music -by emo music,i don't mean 'I'm feeling all this feelingsss' but meaningful lyrics- and me and my father are now super cool to each other. I show him some bands,he likes it,life is beautiful. The cool thing,is that in my country, the 'emo' style is infamous,so nobody is insulting me. You know,i think that people should stop with the clichés. I mean,i'm not depressed,i'm not cutting,i'm normal ! Peace. NT-Nice style, dude.
RoastedZombies Respect for being a different person or do something different. Sometime, communities are bastard because of non-respect between members.
Randomly stumbled across this vid between music videos. Listened to the whole thing and I have to say I totally agree. The 'scene' attitude is just the cancer of collectivism bleeding into Metal from the mainstream. Treat people as individuals and you will be a lot happier IMHO.
Right on! That's exactly how I feel about the whole thing. I miss the 80's days when we were all just Metalheads there was no lame shit going on like today.
I saw a girl with a Metallic shirt that was signed by the lead singer , and i was thinking , like holy shit!!! Thats awesome. So i went up to her and ask her...like Hey!!, how did you like the concert or were you excited to meet the band, Metallica... She said ( oh sorry i dont really listen to them, i only like it cuz looks cute and trendy)..and i was thinking what the fuck has happend with Society!?!!😧
It happened to me too. I saw a girl was wearing nirvana tshirt and I asked her "hey you listen to nirvana?" (I know nirvana is not metal it is grunge but you know it is extreme music in my opinion) and she said wtf is nirvana I never heard of them. And I said her about band. Also my classmate was wearing pink floyd tshirt then when I asked she wasn't listening them too. I hate people like that. You should know what you wear. Note: I don't listen this bands, I just know them. I listen to death metal, deathcore, black metal, metalcore, and all extreme music. My favourite bands are like taim, make them suffer, old slipknot (before 2005), even I listen to jazz and classical music sometimes. I have my own band, I can play drums, guitar, electric guitar and piano. I also do metal vocals. I am very interested in music and I listen to all music (expect of shitty earraping electronic garbage pop) from the softest to the heaviest. And I don't give a shit who listens to real music. Example you are listening to bvb it is not problem to me it is extreme music and you have your own musical taste I was listening to bvb when I was 10 and after a few years they become a little pop but they are still not bad :)
You, my friend, deserve a lot of respect. It's all true. In my case, I try not to judge people on how they look (especially emo/scence people). But, if they start judging for what I listen to, I'm done with them. Bands like BVB and PTV, for me they are... Meh, but the fans just acting so stuck up, it's really annoying! I don't want to hate but they sometimes just ask for it. And all this genre of "metal" is just nonsense. We are all metalheads. And what this guy says is true. We all started at some point, right? I mean, I started listening to Rise Against, then SOAD, Disturbed and A7X, then AA and SS, now, after listening all this types of bands/genre, I've gotten to the point where I only listen to Deathcore, Brutal/Death Metal, Slam Metal. In other words, those "not-so-metal-bands" got me into some really extreme brutal gore sounding bands. Btw, I like your beard :)
I, for some reason, found your Donald Duck sound at 3:49 amusing and repeated it about 5 times. Apparently, I'm either easily entertained or very bored… or, ya know, both.
Back in my father's day, it was whining about "not true folk" - they apparently flipped their lid when Bob Dylan played folk on an electric guitar.... before that, I'm sure there was similar whining about "not true jazz". Seems like it's one of those "the more things change, the more they stay the same" things....
I just found your channel through Blackmetal Werewolf. Awesome video. I agree with what you said in your video. I'm 43 and an old-school female metalhead. Christian Metal annoys Me. I couldn't help but notice that you have an accent. What country/language are you? 🤘✌
i thought we were the unified ones, the outcasts that looked out for eachother, yet now we all hate each other because we like different bands... its sad how we dont like the stereotypes put on us yet we do it like we are getting paid to do it..this is why homo sapiens will never evolve, thanks tool ( right in two reference )
Infidel, I fucking love you man! I'm always so happy to see people like you who just don't give a flying shit and just enjoy the music they love. That is how metal heads should be!
once when i waited for the bus, two metalheads stood beside me. I just wore black bands and an Atheist shirt. They saw me and grinned, and when I looked irritated, one of them said “Oh, do you think you are cool now? You are just one of this Teenies who think that they’re “different” or “Special” just because they wear Metal Shirts” :D wow, it’s forbidden to wear a Metal band shirt just because you’re 15 years old? :D
Infidelamsterdam so when you are saying in video of fit wearing Bring Me the Horizon shirt and has long hair??????? You don't hate Emos do you cause I'm Emo I listen to Emo rock and Screamo sooooo trying to tell is you hate Emos just curious
My only problem with these scene and emo kids is that from my experience is that a fuck ton of them like to fake depression and sometimes even cancer! I've actually had a emo girl fake cancer for attention! I also don't like the bands because the fans make me just hate them they never shut up about them! I like the majority of areas in music, but I can't stand the emo and scene bands thinking they are the most technical, fastest, heaviest band ever and because their fans are always looking for attention
I have seen non-emo non-scene girls and guys fake depression and mental illness for the sake of attention (not cancer though, but what the hell, kids are creative these days). It is a phenomenon entirely unrelated to what subculture they belong to, it comes from the lack of attention they get from their family. Also, obviously every fan says that their favorite bands are the best, most technical, fastest, loudest and most awesome one. What else would you expect them to say? "I'm a huge fan of this band, but...meh... they're not that good." lol Same with the bands. Have you ever seen any band say that "lol we're shit don't listen to us, that other band is better"? Obviously, not.
I watched this video and was in full agreement. Clicked on your channel to see what else is there and see you having a beer with Travis Ryan... Subscribed!
Well said, I am a guy who listens to Death, Decrepit Birth, Cytotoxin and Rings of Saturn but I also like listening to deafheaven, Between the Buried and Me, Dance Gavin Dance, Slaves or even Eidola.
Dear elitists, no one of the people you judge gives any shit about being a "true metalhead", but this way you can effectively discourage someone from further learning about metal. Let people enjoy things, I bet you didn't listen to Cannibal Corpse immediately when you started to listen to metal. I'll protect young metalheads all the way from this kind of judgemental pricks, because I remember where I began.
The you cant be gay to listen to metal was hilariously funny. What kind of band are amongst the classical NWOBHM? Judas Priest. What is the lead singer of that band? Rob Halford. And he is gay. Oh, the irony.
My biggest problem with the scene/emo thing is to me it just seems like a grab for attention. They are trying to be different than everyone else and that is okay but by dressing like everyone else you are affiliating yourself with you are not being yourself. It is mostly teenagers and younger adults who go through tihs kind of thing but again I never felt the need to belong to a certain culture or scene. If you met me face to face you wouldn't be able to tell I was a metal fan unless I was wearing a Morbid Angel or Obscura t shirt. I don't feel the need to be different to the point where I have to dress a certain way to express myself. I express myself through my words and through who I am as an individual. I've never been a fan of using labels to define who you are. I think the reason the majority of people say nasty shit about the scene kids or emos is because of the reasons I state. I don't do it personally and I do not agree with the people who do it but the shit they are going through is not who they are at all. They will outgrow it eventually. You should never judge a book by it's cover and you are right about that. I just hate trends whether it's within the metal/rock culture or the pop culture or whatever.
+Lurch Murphy Its nothing different from the big 4 Thrash bands in the old times hated glam music because it looked gay we hate emos cause they look really lame. To be honost though it does look kinda gay if you look at Metal it looks more masculine so I can see why others don't care for emos or scenes
+Lurch Murphy You couldn't be more right about that topic than you are right now pal! I like to look "emo-ish" at times, but I don't do it to fit in with the crowd and try to get attention. I do it because I like the look and feel confident about myself, I would never do anything to my looks in order to make myself out to be an individual. My personality can do that for me perfectly fine! :D
+Lurch Murphy Never understood the logic of that argument. That vast majority of people in general do not dress in Hot Topic attire or such. So it makes little sense to say that this is dressing as everyone else does. I think this is merely a perception that more traditional dressing guys (metal heads) have, since this different style of appearance is generally not to their liking.
***** Hot topic has a shitty selection for Metal tshirts though I can rarely find any good band tshirts there its best to go to a Metal shop that sells them for cheaper price too
+danSmithy Beside that, if someone dresses in a particular way just because he likes the look it gives that's completeley OK for me. But distinguishing a guy that likes emo-ish dressing or wathever of someone who dresses like that just to show he's "different" is hard.
Hey buddy, great insight! I myself choose not to wear any band names, logos or anything on my shirts. Just plain colors!! I LOVE bands like Death, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc. and LOVE underground hip hop/rap. I fit in almost anywhere. Coming out with a brand new full length rap album of my own and a EP with my band (rock)! It doesn't matter what "Scene" anyone is a part of..as long as you are happy to be you!
Respect man, we couldn't agree more with you.
casual agreement from awesome band
Hey guys!
Glad that you like the video!
Infidel, there's only one way to stop those judgmental assholes..
Judge them for what ever band that they listen to/ band shirt
do to them , what they do to others
Infidelamsterdam nl ?
My brain is not computing this.. this.. this is madness..
Thats it. Ive FINALLY seen it all.
Common sense and decency on youtube. Fuck me.
It's sheer madness. A rare light in the dense fog of You Tube.
The most annoying part about metal, is the community. But you're goddamn right dude. Metal is Metal, there's no True metal.
last first And you're right about that.
No there isn't, it's either metal or part of a different genre, no true or false metal
Then it's part of a different genre, not in the metal genre
Yes in most fanbases they're shit stop complaining that this is true metal or this is true metal just stop and enjoy the music
There is true metal Manowar knows best
This guy is the truest Metal Head to grace the internet.
NOT GIVEN NOYB Who cares, in some ways you are also judgemetal by saying "If you actually understood his videos you'd know that. You're an idiot". Live and let live.
+last first 43 other people got the point I was trying to get across. You must not be one of them. Cheers.
You're missing the point.
first off, your beard is fucking amazing...second, you're a really awesome guy
Thanks for the compliment..;-)
Infidelamsterdam My head gets bashed in every day by kids my age for listening or wearing deatmmetal things
why can't everyone be like you
We are :D
nice pic xd
PsychoBot Thanks, you know what it is from?
Walsh2571 Sorry man, but I don't think he was saying that to you :/ but don't worry, I'll be your friend
Daniel Newberry A man can dream.
I agree 100%, I wish there were more metal fans like you.
THERE'S ONE RIGHT HERE! Me. 😎🤘✌
*oof.*
Me to...and one of them here
When my daughter started listening to alternative music she got into emo and core.
Thats so nice of you! Thank you so much! :D btw im 16 so yea i think we can be friends ^ ^
It's a pleasure, I know what it's like to be shunned by society due to being different all my life. So can totally relate, and believe me, back in the 80's it was so much worse and totally not tolerated. We went through hell, lol. But we survived and came out of it so much stronger.
It's funny how this is an anti-hate video and there are people down there in the comments section spreading hate.
Finally, someone who speaks reason.
A7x 😍
Aids7x!!!!!!
+Hermann Goering okay, that's actually funny as shit 😂😂😂 but seriously, I still love A7x! 🤘🏼
Amen, brother. The elitist mentality is so asinine and pathetic
If only all metalheads were like this...
Thank you. Someone who's decent.
Stay metal, you're the man.
yyyyeahhh!!
U deserve a prize :3
You know what? I don't care.
Gerardjinglesmyballs I
I'm sorry, but may i ask why you care in the first place? Literally, the biggest generation of babies. If you're going to choose a group to define you, then why do you give a shit about what other people think? Is it because you feel like maybe you don't actually belong in this group? I can wear whatever the hell i want but the difference between you and I is the fact that i can have pride in myself when someone tries to judge me on it. The only real group you're in is your own group.
Nice Pierce The Veil shirt dude
Thats 'Beheaded'.
Infidelamsterdam lel the troll with this guy... a troll lvl of over 9000
its a iwresteldabearonce crop top you poser
Doofy MetalusMaximus nah it's a totes a born of osiris t-shirt with the sleeves cut off
Actually i believe it to be a black veil brides lingerie
How can u even dislike this video? there is no reason cause he's just saying he's fine with everything and he likes to have contact with any person he likes without looking to how he/she is dressed like most others do. respect!
I honestly like all sorts of metal, whether its Thrash Metal or Metalcore. Being raised with Iron Maiden, Dio, Slayer and Immortal, I can see how the music has changed. Bands like Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, All That Remains and Shadows Fall are still really great bands. Metal is metal, that's how I see it. Metal will never die.
+Billy Dat Kid me personally I was thinking of the lines "you can't kill the metal, the metal will live on"- Tenacious D
+newb dood I don't have a problem with core at all, I have a problem with its followers. Especially when they say something like "I'm a metalhead" and by that they mean only core, then they proceed to insult metal and think it sounds like shit. That's what makes people angry as fuck.
A question , newb
Could Iron Maiden be considered as a precursor band for power metal ?
I personally like killswitch engage but after the lead singer left the band I hated it
What a cool dude. I subscribed and liked. Awesome message.
I'm a 15 (almost 16) year old Christian kid that has hair almost down to my chin, which, I guess is scene.. (I just like how I look with it.) I don't wear skinny jeans because I'm not really that interested in it. (And that's okay.)
I listen to The Agony Scene, Alesana, All Shall Perish, As Blood Runs Black, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, August Burns Red, Beartooth, Becoming the Archetype, Blessthefall, Bring me the Horizon, Chelsea Grin, Crown the Empire, Enter Shikari, Fit for a King, For Today, I Prevail, I See Stars, ISSUES, Memphis May Fire, Miss May I, Oceans Ate Alaska, Of Mice & Men, Phinehas, Pierce the Veil, Silent Planet, Suicide Silence, Thy Art Is Murder, Underoath (R.I.P), We Came as Romans, Whitechapel, With Blood Comes Cleansing, Woe, is me and a whole lot more. I'm 100% sure that someone will have a problem with that and I really don't care.
Also, I like your videos and I respect your message. Subscribed. ^_^
Anun AMiss You just mentioned a shitload of bands I mostly haven't heard of. Need to check that out. Thanks for mentioning \m/
Have you tried death metal? I think you might like it based on some bands you mentioned
THANK. YOU.
I wish more people would think like you do!
Interesting how the people going all out can sometimes be so conservative in their metal exploration
Killer Punk0302 Yeah, people...
=/... aaanyway...
Jordan, you'd better hope that no one takes you up on your suggestion ....
This guy knows what the fuck he is talking about \m/
desaster
Horns up fucking love them \m/
me too \m/
\m/
\m/
Xavrua well said
i agree i run an internet radio station dj nightly and i play all types of music in the end we all have a shared love for music i was a burnout my parents were hippies scene and emo kids are just the next generation of metalheads expressing themselvs. The aint hurtin no body just doing there thing
dude, you are so real. 100% truth all the time. I love it, metal for life!
Me too, i also enjoy indie music, edm and pop music. Also thai pop because im thai, Japanese pop and Japanese rock/metal etc....
+Warachara Upapong Your music taste is weird
Dethkok i have diverse taste in music
hiphop and country music are alright. I like and accept alot of things but the only thing i ended up still hating it, is Blood On The Dance Floor's music.
Warachara Upapong Honestly, I don't understand how a straight dude can enjoy listening to that.
9 years later and this video is still a gem.
Never bothered to watch your videos, and fuck you impressed me. You know your shit, you just earned a new sub.
This is the first video I ever whatched from him and I already subscribed.
Same here, I wish more people could think the same way as he does.
Well said dude
He's not talking about people like you though man, Korn is not any kind of metal.
AlphaMunky Korn isn't necessarily bad, it's just fucking weird...
Raigeki To be weird is to be different, being different is to be unique; being unique is to be fucking original :P
I love slipknot, pantera, slayer, motorhead and all those other awesome motherfuckers, but nothing compares for me personally to Korn. I'm a Korny fuck and proud :)
Geistclan You are the perfect example of who is being talked about in this video.
AlphaMunky Yeah, I just wished they stopped when 'Follow the Leader' came out.
let's make a petition to change all metal sub genres to metal :D
2019 He still speaking facts
True
Well said, from a Goth Elder I could not agree more :). I know this comment is late, but I am glad I found your channel. We struggle with elitism in the Goth culture a lot. There are many channels on UA-cam discussing this very topic, but when I speak to these "elitist Goths" their argument is that new comers to the culture do not know anything about it. They merely like the fashion, but have no idea about the music, literature, films etc. Is this something that also occurs in the Metal culture where newcomers just play dress up but have no clue about the history or genre of the music?
I avoided metalheads since a long time precisely for this reasons
thank you so much for this video, it's good to know there are people out there with this perspective.
The fact that some people set rules on what's metal or not, is against everything metal in the first place
I always thought METAL = NO RULES!
10 years later, and it’s still true!
Love that Disentomb wallpaper. Just noticed it now, after watching a few videos, and this came up in my suggested, and decided to click on it again.
I went to a metal concert and a guy was wearing a BVB shirt as they just played there like 2 weeks before no one hated on him we become friends we talked to a lot of people around us about they and they were the nicest people i ever met. It people on the internet that cause all this hate. I don't like BVB like i hate them but that doesn't mean i have to hate on people who like them
I love metalcore and deathcore but sadly I am still not a metalhead to other metalheads who listened to brutal death 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️to be honest I am listening to Anime OST a lot and other genres too
Who cares about what metalhead cultists think?!
THIS GUY IS A FUCKING GENIUS
I listen to Mayhem and I listen to Black Veil Brides.
I hate seeing that fucking onision video "10 things I hate about emos" whenever I watch this
I have never seen one good video of that guy...
Such immature douchebag ....never seen any good vedio of his
Infidelamsterdam hes funny but just ignore the shit thats judgmental
Infidelamsterdam His videos are jokes yuh. As in, they're literally jokes. Not meant to be seriously. Doesn't mean they're bad. But I suppose it's a matter of opinion.
Dirkaa Dirka It's personal ofcourse but I think he has some serious issues.
I respect you so much. You're the most respectful metal fan out there. Keep being you. You just earned a new subscriber. :)
Black metal Werewolf is another metal head youtuber who is respectful of metal .
He even goes the extra mile. when defending the genre
. .not every one understands his sense of humor..
Dude, you're the coolest. Finally someone can have an agreeable and respectful outlook on this whole discussion.
this video aged like fine wine
Agreed
The real posers are elitists
Agreed.
They really are.
Anti-elitists are technically elitists themselves
@@tylerbrah4676 How? Elitists are often very close-minded people and don't accept different opinions.
@@tylerbrah4676 I don't like nu metal very much but I don't hate people who like it. I'm not elitist. I listen many genres of metal with open mind.
This guy is what is RIGHT with the world.
fuck i just love your point of view.
Charlie L me i like to trash "real metal" ironically to piss off elitists it is the funniest shit
But i generally respect all music as long as it has
A) meaning
B) a purpose
So pretty much anything but stuff like gucci gang
It's because of the internet. It's so easy to say something offensive/stupid without actually thinking how dumb it makes you.
I love your originality man. Please do keep speaking your mind cause there are so many people out there who just live a life to judge people.
I love this dude seriously someone who knows what the fuck they are talking about. hate all these supposively metalheads.
no need to swear
ohh there is always a need
+Daniel James If you can't handle swearing you're too young for the internet.
same here this dude actually has a brain and knows what he's saying
TwiiiZted
fuck all scene, posers and emos though.
Wow man.. You said everything! Good work! Subbed ;)
Finally somebody recognizes the deserted scene! Now, get me the fuck off this island.
Haha lol
"the guitar is sick but the singer sound like shit." so in the end i stopped talking to him cos he was just too much negativity in my life
"the deserted scene"
i gotta get in on that shit
deserted metal.....metal about being deserted on an island and songs about SOS's and coconut milk..... i like it....
Dude you're awesome. I don't know why people judge people such as me like an "emo" or "scene" looks. People judge us so often and it's bullshit. You're amazing dude. Just thank you.
In my area there is very few metalheads
All the metalheads I know are mixed
Theyre all cool
I know an emo a scene kid and nu metal kid a death metal fan a melodeath fan a rivethead and a few others
Doesnt make a difference once theyre nice people
They listen to the sane stuff
I mean I keep an open mind
I could go from children of bodom to slayer to cannibal corpse to slipknot to bmth to miw to marilyn manson
Im open minded on any kind of music so I don't wear emo clothes or Iam not religious but I do listen Christian bands some times
your...beard...is ...AWESOME!!
Judging someone by how they look is one of the most dumbest things that can be done
hey you sound just like me haha
+Tokki the Grim Reaffer XD
why do you dress like a emo? just curious?
I'm exactly the same except for the flippy hair but if you look through my iPod you'll mostly see Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Black Sabbath etc
+RaF KiNs I just really like the look. I got rid of the flippy hair though. I'm just leaving it alone and natural
This man deserves a medal.
Amen.
REAL WORDS COMING FROM A METALHEAD.
384 metal elitists clicked on this video and were disappointed.
Also Persona non grata means an unwelcomed guest.
this man speaks words of wisdom
this dude is awesome \m/
ComicBookJacob I listen to Motionless In White which are sort or considered not real metal. I used to love MCR and i still sort of enjoy P!ATD
Peace.
NT-Nice style,dude.
RoastedZombies That there's not enough respect in communities.
RoastedZombies Respect for being a different person or do something different. Sometime, communities are bastard because of non-respect between members.
RoastedZombies I do not talk about the extremes, but little differents.
RoastedZombies Be young in the community, for exemple.
RoastedZombies Not attention. I hate the attention,we all hate attention. It's just -my point of view- i feel good and confortable.
Yeah. Because there were no fighting between Thrashers and Glam...
Lmao i hate people like that
It happened to me too.
I listen to almost exclusively punk and i honestly feel disgusted when I see punks whining about "Not true punks"
Back in my father's day, it was whining about "not true folk" - they apparently flipped their lid when Bob Dylan played folk on an electric guitar.... before that, I'm sure there was similar whining about "not true jazz". Seems like it's one of those "the more things change, the more they stay the same" things....
Casper Howell da fuck is true punk
I just found your channel through Blackmetal Werewolf. Awesome video. I agree with what you said in your video. I'm 43 and an old-school female metalhead. Christian Metal annoys Me. I couldn't help but notice that you have an accent. What country/language are you? 🤘✌
DMHQ - Administration
I’m Dutch ( The Netherlands )
And blackmetal werewolf? He mentioned me?🤔
i thought we were the unified ones, the outcasts that looked out for eachother, yet now we all hate each other because we like different bands... its sad how we dont like the stereotypes put on us yet we do it like we are getting paid to do it..this is why homo sapiens will never evolve, thanks tool ( right in two reference )
Kypha pL Shoulda called them out on their bullshit. Hate fuckers like them who think they know shit about someone's life
were not all nazis though '-'
No but thats what some people think of metalheads, thats what I meant...
Infidelamsterdam Oh, thank satan. :')
Infidelamsterdam so when you are saying in video of fit wearing Bring Me the Horizon shirt and has long hair??????? You don't hate Emos do you cause I'm Emo I listen to Emo rock and Screamo sooooo trying to tell is you hate Emos just curious
+Emo billy decker Emo No, he doesn't hate emos. That's the point of the whole video.
epicnate98 okey
"I'm a huge fan of this band, but...meh... they're not that good." lol
Same with the bands. Have you ever seen any band say that "lol we're shit don't listen to us, that other band is better"? Obviously, not.
I watched this video and was in full agreement. Clicked on your channel to see what else is there and see you having a beer with Travis Ryan... Subscribed!
That beard of yours. I love how fluffy it is. I know this comment is extremely random.
I agree with you 100%.
Metal elitism is dumb I love both deathcore and deathmetal and even metalcore
