I think one of the best differences between this campaign and others we’ve seen in the past is the general attitude of the players. While there’s some of the typical doomerism or getting mad or whatever, the players here are almost all actually being fairly positive about things, even when they lose. Elbians didn’t get super mad when he lost. Even burgundy, who lost everything, didn’t rage, he just lost it (turned into the Joker). It’s not a game where it seems like people get particularly angry. Another great example of how these players have more composure than other games we’ve seen is the gentlemen’s agreement war. I cannot imagine that happening in any other game we’ve seen so far. It’s amazing to see, I think it’s one of the reasons for this being such a great campaign. Edit: it’s so over
I think that the lack of colonialism in asia led to the poverty in europe as the usually colonized and very profitable, india and Indonesia, are now players. Also the scaninavian monopoly over africa doesnt help.

AS THE ELBIANS PLAYER i'm gonna point out a few things, 1. The reason for the Death war is that I knew we had the burgundian's and asians on our side if we held out, i could've surrendered and given more land to spud and scandi but with that the next war would be harder and there is no gaurentee that they join the next one, additionally thuringia is my ONLY sulfur province and if i loose it it affects a lot of goods 2. at the start me and poland saw that russia was joining and we were kinda split between either having plc join anyways or not, in hindsight although russia had a bigger army polands was better situated to be useful and be called in. 3. tbh i think me and poland did a pretty good job of mostly not getting encircled, the front with spud is massive and it was impossible to station troops on the whole front and additionally the scandinavian front, i should've held the 1 tile instead of 3 tile front though, i think we did pretty good in our goal to keep most our armies intact while additionally killing the entire russian army up to this point, the ottomans did not join for a long time so a lot of the war we were fighting with a massive brig disadvantage 4. Scandi should've naval invaded to get some encirclements ig, really the massive naval advantage which was putting scandi in debt were almost not used ever other then to give some war exhaustion

In thinking of the countries themselves as moving actors, I feel like we're missing some mildly interesting story plots. The king of Burgundy failed diplomatically and almost wiped his historic kingdom off the map in only a few years. The people of Burgundy, sick of their weak monarch, rose up to establish a Republic, lead by the strong people of Burgundy. And since then, the burgund people have managed to seize back crucial former holdings and retake their place as a power on the continent that can no longer be ignored or summed up as a dead state
