  • Detailed and simplified lecture on one of basic concepts in biomechanics the Convex Concave rule.Human body movements involves both osteokinematic and arthokinematic movement. The Convec Concabe rule is a realtionship between both this artho and osteokinematics.The arthokinematic movements involves Roll, Glide or slide and Spin. In human movements most often the glide and roll occurs together and the roll or rolling always occurs in direction of movement of bony lever itself whereas the slide or glide can be either in same or opposite direction. The convex concave rule states that when a convex atricular surface is moving on a relatively fixed articular surface the gliding or sliding occurs opposite to the bony movement or more clearly the arthokinematic movement of gliding occurs opposite to osteokinematic movement of the bone. Whereas when tne concave is moving on fixed convex the arthokinematic movement of slide or glide occurs in same direction as the bone movement.

    Hello sir🙏
    I have a question on posture..
    Its just a simple one but it complicates me everytime..
    Sir is lordosis a normal condition??
    I have read that more lordotic curve leads to sway back which is abnormal..
    But lordosis is normal or not i am confused..
    Could you please help me🙏

    • @saurabhrana356
      @saurabhrana356 4 роки тому +1

      According to me lordosis is normal..
      But i dont know the reason...

    • @TonysTutorial
      @TonysTutorial  4 роки тому +3

      Oh yes rana lordosis is normal because in spine we have natural curve and one such curve is lordotic curve. At begining of life its a single kyphotic curve but it later adapts with weight bearing to become lordotic at neck and lumbar region. So lordotic curve is normal and lordosis is normal. And its very essential for proper functioning of spine too. But when it increseses it creates problem, as any deviation from normal body biomechanics can be harmful increased lordosis is having adverse effects. So an increased or hyper lordotic curve is having its own adverse effects which are plenty, at the same time decreased lorodis or flattned lumbar or cervical spine is also disadvantageous to body.
