Memories of my youth in Australia. Bubblegum rock of the mid 60's transforming into the hard rock of the early 70's. I remember AC/DC playing at the Caringbah YMCA and entry was $2. A very large brick building with no windows and a polished wooden floor containing a basketball court and other gymnasium areas. Guaranteed tinnitus for the next 3 months after the show. 😅😅😅

The long haired girl at the back of the dancers is Lyndall Hobbs soon to be the first woman reporter on A Current Affair, a Reporter and social butterfly with the jet set in the UK - partly responsible for success of the launch of The Rocky Horror Show- a movie producer in Hollywood and for several years Al Pacino’s partner. She would’ve been about 17 in this clip. She stated in her biography that she couldn’t dance at all but, as she was an hostess on the show, she was expected to. She now has an interior design business in LA. The program was ‘Turning On’ and its main host was ‘Baby’ John Burgess. I seem to remember watching it in early 1970.
