I wish Samsung just automatically had that set on the phone like they used to on the past phones. Without you having to download a different app. I hate downloading 3rd party apps for a function that should be automatic.

It used to work just fine, but after the last update, the "lab" option is missing from "call" activities. So basically, this workaround doesn't work anymore. Any suggestions ?

This option is now a default option in samsung one ui 5. You can go to a contact-> More -> Edit call background ->Tap + button on top and choose which photo u need as background and thats it

@@mkumareshh , yes but now you have to do one contact at a time, before you could set it once for all your contacts, which in my opinion should be an option in settings.

after a lot of search, I've found the solution. Basically, what you have to do is to save your contacts in phone memory and not in sim. Once you add the contact in phone memory, it will show the picture adding option whenever you'll press the "i" button.

can i set unlimited number of call backgrounds ? because by default galaxy phones only allows 30 call backgrounds (pic/vids) .

I have a Note 9 and my menus are different from yours. Also the shortcut app doesn't have the lab setting. Maybe my phone is too old but it'd totally different. My carrier is AT&T.

that it's exactly what I'm saying that icon don't go away it a minor thing but bothers me I'm looking for a whole screen Pic on all my contacts witch I have most of them with Pic. that's something iphone beats sumsung, with iPhone when dif people call their pics will show whole screen. sad

totally agree with a iphone doing this with contact Pics is no problem and no icon will shot in the middle of their face. I'm going back to iphone pretty soon
