When receiving a new Nordhavn from China, is it typical that you'll have issues, such as seen in this video? I have heard that Chinese quality assurance isn't the best in the world.

I´d say that any new boat/yacht/ship has issues as new. The bigger the more.. I´ve been on som new passengerferries 600ft+ and the list is long..

Thats not true with yachts. The highest quality yachts are built in China. This has nothing to do with Chinese quality. If anything, its European yachts that have quality problems.

Nordhavns are known to be some of the highest quality yachts out there, thats why their owners love them so much and cross oceans with them. If being built in China was a problem, I don't think Nordhavn would have them built there.

There is a report of a new Nordhavn on its delivery voyage having to have its rudder stock replaced, its fuel lines blocked (I think) and an engine mount and electrical problems. On its delivery voyage. Just saying...

I just imagined a similar video but from the aviation world. A heartbreaking scene: parts of a disassembled Gulfstream 450 business jet are being unloaded from the belly of a freighter 747.
And they're explaining to the surprised blogger: we had to FERRY this "world cruising business jet" across the Atlantic this way, because while technically this jet is capable of crossing the Atlantic by herself, this is so dangerous and damaging to the jet's structure and systems that ferrying the jet inside a 747 is really the best option. 😂I can bet any aviator would forget about this jet and her building company forether upon seeing such a video.
And in the yachting world this video of a WORLD CRUISING EXPLORER yacht being unloaded from a cargo ship is surprisingly seen as normal. 😂
At least remove this shame from the Nordhavn official web site 😂
