    Bobby Allison 1983 Buick Regal Champ Miller High Life 1/24 NASCAR Salvinos JR Models Stock Car
    The Buick Regal is an upscale mid-sized car that was first introduced by Buick for the 1973 model year. The model was originally positioned as a personal luxury car, and typically offered in both coupe and sedan forms until 1997, when the Regal became sedan-only due to the decline of the personal luxury coupe market. For certain model years between 1973 and 2004, the Regal shared bodies and powertrains with the similar Buick Century, although the Regal was positioned as a more upmarket vehicle.
    The Regal was discontinued in the North American market in 2004, being succeeded by the Buick LaCrosse. In 2008, a new version of the Regal was introduced for the Chinese market, which is a badge engineered version of the Opel Insignia. The new Regal was introduced to the North American market in 2011, positioned as a mid-size vehicle. A new model was introduced for 2018, which is offered in a liftback sedan and a "TourX" station wagon version. GM discontinued the Regal in the North American market after the 2020 model year, making Buick exclusively a CUV marque there.
    The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC (NASCAR) is an American auto racing sanctioning and operating company that is best known for stock car racing.[1] The privately owned company was founded by Bill France Sr. in 1948,[2] and his son, Jim France, has been the CEO since August 6, 2018.[3] The company is headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida.[4] Each year, NASCAR sanctions over 1,500 races at over 100 tracks in 48 US states as well as in Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
    The NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) is the sport's highest level of professional competition. It is consequently the most popular and most profitable NASCAR series. Since 2001, the Cup Series season has consisted of 36 races over 10 months. Writers and fans often use "Cup" to refer to the NCS and the ambiguous use of "NASCAR" as a synonym for the series is common. The 2020 NCS Champion is Chase Elliott. The record for most championships is 7, held by three drivers: Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Jimmie Johnson. Johnson has the record for most consecutive with five consecutive Cup Series drivers' championships from 2006 to 2010. Previously, the most consecutive championships had been three in a row by Cale Yarborough in the late 1970s, the only other time when a driver has won three or more NASCAR Cup Series championships in a row.
    Brands with the Miller name, or historically sold by Miller Brewing company, include:
    Miller High Life: A pilsner-style beer introduced in 1903, High Life is Miller Brewing's oldest brand and is 4.6% abv.[13] It is noted for its high level of carbonation, like champagne, leading to its longtime slogan "The Champagne of Beers". It was one of the premier high-end beers in the US for many years.[14] High Life bottles feature a bright gold label and are made of a clear glass that has a tapered neck like a champagne bottle. The label includes the "Girl in the Moon" logo, which features a woman in a circus costume seated on a crescent moon.[15] The brand helped popularize 7 U.S. fl oz (207 ml) pony bottles, introduced in 1972.[16][17]
    Miller Lite: A pilsner-type light beer. Introduced in 1972, it was the first light beer to see wide popularity. It is 4.2% abv (4% in Canada).

    The car that won Bobby's first and only championship! Way cool! As a completely blind person, I don't know if I could ever build these models, so I don't own any. However, I do have this car and diecast form.

    Great looking build Chris! I had actually bought a sealed Salvinos Petty Olds from ebay that had a warped roof/windshield frame. Called and talked to Jim and said that since I didnt buy directly from them that I understood if they couldnt help but he said to email pics of the issue. I sent the pics and without a question they sent me a replacement body, windshield and rear window to boot. Customer service is 2nd to none! Enjoyed the video

      @@dongordon4464 Correct. I want off the shelf kits, sealed, like everyone else gets. So that's what all the companies send. If there are issues I show it on screen and then talk about how I worked with it.

    I believe the hobby is called "Model Building". Without challenges, you have the danger of boredom. Considering the amount of parts and the complex details of the molded parts, a few "out of whack" pieces offer just the kind of problem solving that builds character. Thanks for sharing, Chris.

    Hold up I thought salvino JR was making these kits from new tooling? I mean i normally don’t build nascar models due to my compulsion ( which I’ve disciplined) turning them into street rods that just happen to be built from nascars other word no decals and I add a seat and lights and windows that are missing. Seen a guys ss areo Monte done like this and it was street legal

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  Рік тому +4

      If you're new to the show or not familiar it can be confusing. Salvinos created numerous new tools for the 1/25th classic stock cars of the 70s like the Tuflon car, and the new 1/24th NEXGEN stock cars.
      1/24th 80s stock cars like this are the Monogram toolings that they purchased with improved/replaced glass, tires and what not done by them.

    I built the original Monogram kit back in the day. Also had the Digard Gatorade 88 and the Hardee's 28 kits. Yep, Bobby Allison fan :) BTW, what do you do with all the models that you build?

  • @timothyharrison8953
    @timothyharrison8953 Рік тому

    Thinks for the build. These old Monogram molds getting a second life and Salvinos fixing the glass after the initial kits were issued its great. I couldn't believe the glass and tire molds were lost when they acquired the dies. Then they were making glass to fit from the inside on a body that was designed for the glass to go on the outside. What frustration for the builders!
    I guess Salvinos failed to get permission from Winston for decals?! White/red Racing instead and I don't see it on the next releases on the website for the RP #43 Charger or RCR #3 Monte Carlo. Greedy ITG Brands LLC which killed the Winston Cup museum is killing Salvinos too. Idiots.

  • @savagenoob

    Very nice build. One question, what is the reason behind applying extra glue to the parts after you glue them? I've seen you do it multiple times brush on glue to an engine block along the joints after they have been assembled

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  Рік тому

      It will wick into the joint and it helps knock/smooth down seams since I don't sand or fill seams on my quick reviews.
