I know I am SUPER LATE but I learned a few weeks ago on how the RGB Slider works so, let me explain. The RGB Slider takes advantage of the Additive Color Model. The primary colors are Red, Green, and Blue. The thing is that they are the primary colors of light, not like the usual Red, Yellow and Blue that we're taught at school. When you add Red and Green equally, you get Yellow. When you add Green and Blue equally, you get Cyan. When you get Red and Blue equally, you get Magenta. If all three are mixed equally, you get White. Adding them in different amounts gives you a different color. It's fun to work with but I don't use it when I color. If you want to test this out, you can go to paint tool SAI by making three layers and separating them by Red, Green and Blue. To see the effect, the top two layers should be in Multiply Mode. I just realized (while writing this) that it helps you understand on what kind of color your pigment would be if shined upon a certain color of light. Meaning, it can help with your lighting if you use multiply. This is a mess and I only know this because of a presentation I had to make for my Science class, so research was needed. You can learn more online.
Whoever says art is easy hasn't tried their hand at sitting for hours straight while working on a painting on an art app you arent accustomed to. Also, thank you so much for this. I got Paint Tool Sai a few days ago and am still lost.
I think you can actually move multiple layers at once. There's that box below the 'eye' in the layer. You click that box for the inactive layer that you want to move along with the active layer. Then you can just drag and move the layers. (I'm sorry, I'm really bad at explaining)
I've been using SAI since 2013 and there's so much stuff in this video that I absolutely had no idea about, and I've been spending hours doing something that I could've saved so much more time on....... Thank you for this!!
I'm getting my first drawing soon and I wanted to learn the program so I could start drawing right away. THIS WAS AMAZING AND SO SO SO HELPFUL!! Thank you so much for making this!! Super legit and that thumbnail doesn't lie. Great, keep going!!

Remy I’m pretty sure it works for any computer/laptop. As long as ya got a USB port then I’m pretty sure it will connect. There’s also an option to go Bluetooth
I got an intuos pro and it is used for older version of Windows but u can also use it for Mac. I have Windows 10 and it still works even if its used for Window 7.
This was SO helpful for me! I was unable to find a tutorial explaining how to use the various options available and assigning hot keys which immediately discouraged me from using the program. Now that I understand how to use the program better I can finally start using it for digital illustration. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm a costume design student in my last year of university and my school teaches nothing about digital art. I'm trying to make the switch right now because digital seem like a much better medium for me but I'm so bad with learning new things. I don't really like photoshop so I downloaded sai on a friend's recommendation, but off the bat it confused the hell out of me. This tutorial helped so much! Hopefully I start to catch on now that I know the basics ^-^

I say z like "zed" and I'm American and everyone gets mad at me and I spell shit with u's and say caramel the non American way and I'm called the "English spy" in my school like no I'm just doing what literally almost the entire world does except America
It's not "the entire world except america" it's a like 3 very specific countries out of 300+ that have a combined population comparable to that of America. It's like faking an accent or something, it's just really annoying and cringey to watch someone blatantly fake being part of a different culture, both to those in your own culture, and those in the culture your mimicking/mocking. It just annoys people when others intentionally misappropriate other cultures to make themselves seem less boring. I'd suggest against it.
Adding U makes no sense phonetically and is an archaic way of spelling words. Then there's center/centre where the ladder makes no sense. Center is how it's pronounced we don't say sen-tree.
That seems like something more suited for Photoshop because of the selection tools it has. In SAI, you could lasso or magic wand around the person and then copy + paste them into the picture.
Oh yes please make that video about textures and additional stuff in SAI! Also I have a question: if I already purchased Sai 1, can I get sai 2 too or do I have to buy it seperatly?
this was very helpfull. I'm used to photoshop so i was having a bit of a struggle with the way sai does things. this smoothed out the adjustment process significantly.
