I really like Chika as a drummer! She has the ability to play their music live with ease and she has already melted into the Hanabie pot and become one with the band.
What I am most impressed by is that she seems to be learning more tracks "on the fly" while touring. In EU their early sets were very limited - basically all proper tracks from Reborn + the three from Otome, which had MVs. If they'd do an encore they'd do Osaki ni... a 2nd time or sth like that. But the longer the tour is going the more songs from their earlier catalogue they've started to play - Sunrise Miso Soup, Genkai Numa Life, Love Ranbu, etc. adding more duration and variety to the sets. They seem to really have hit the jackpot this time. Hopefully Chika will stick around for good, because this drummer thing seems to have been haunting the OG trio ever since the band was formed.
What a beast! Chika was one of the nicest people I've ever met. In fact, all of Hanabie including their manager and crew were incredibly kind and professional. Definitely an honor to open for them. 🤘🏻
I love this angle, it’s so hard to see Chika most of the time in performance recordings (and damn near impossible if you’re there live) but she’s an absolute beast. I could watch her drum all day, maybe Chika-Cam needs to be a thing at concerts lol.
I saw this same song from a different video angle, and I saw Chika whacking the drums and watching her head bob violently with each hit, I thought man I wish I could see here up close... and blamo! your video came up. This girl gives off a total on fire vibe 🔥. She is into every drum hit. I am liking her more and more.
Good tempo, simple quick fills, speed, power, and she can groove. Never even played this style of music until she hooked up with Hanabie, but she hits just like a punk rock drummer. I think she found her calling.
