Fr, wanna know why? Most of them are told it’s a get rich quick way of earning money. Tbh that’s how I rolled into trading myself few years ago. But I liked it, the learning curve and the challenge of doing it alone really fit me. So I kept going and I became a profitable trader this year :) Now I am funded with multiple firms and making a full time living from trading. Next year my goal will be to focus a lot on E-Commerce. I studied it on college and I did ecom way before I did trading, it’s because I love marketing lol. But I had to choose, it’s either ecom or trading. I chose for trading because it could give me the capital I needed for ecom. Glad I made that decision, because if not I would probably still be doing a job.

The thrill,the love, the unpredictability, the constant price action surprises which Market gives us constantly i think the people who get addicted to it and really love learning it only those gonna succeed. I personally get adrenaline rush from the price action and when it does exactly like what i predicted it's like an icing on the cake. Trading is addiction when you learn it completely.

I'm around 3 years in as well. Last few weeks everything sort of clipped with me. I started to see charts in a different way, that's after spending hours in front of charts everyday for past 2 - 3 years. I've come to the conclusion that the only thing that matters is to follow the trend. Nothing else matters. Buy into uptrends and short into downtrends, price action will let you know when the trend is changing, if you're disciplined and patient enough to wait it out that is

My problem is that I have this reptilian brain that takes over and destroys my accounts. For those of yall struggling with consistency, maybe you should start implementing a scalping strategy. You'll have to increase your size a little bit, but 15%-20% on 3-4 trades adds up pretty quick
chartists are idiots. But working on a trading desk for a decade, i think the most important rule i learned is that you need to separate your emotions from your decision-making. The worst thing is when you do things because of your ego, because of what you think ought to be true, because of how much hate you losing money or love making it. It has to be a cold, calculated thing. THEN you give yourself a chance.
More than a year already. Not profitable. Break even trader. But getting better every day. Understand market structure. All that is left to do is money management, fomo, and when to take profit. I know I can do it.
A year is still a newbie. You need a minimal of 2 years to familiarize the market and develop consistency. Only then, are you ready to capitalize what you know and make a living off of it.

Took me 3 years to become consistent. And year 3 all I did everyday was study the market. From the moment I woke up to the time I went to bed. Trading on the simulator, taking notes, watching videos, studying charts… about 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I wanted it more than anything. This skill takes dedication

True, my dad introduced me to day trading back when I was 10/11. He made losses and traded with little knowledge but investing in courses etc at that time. No social media for shorts/strategies/indicator knowledge etc. just hard reading. Infact, paper trading on paper charts to backtest. Anyway, 10 years later I tried, gave up after six months cos I didnt fully understand money management properly. Young mind, couldn’t understand it properly. Looking back I made 6 months of positive results. Stopped trading though and went on to support myself through the usual means of a 9-5 which wasn’t too bad but limited. 10 years on again and now I find myself with better understand better knowledge and more confidence due to having a different mindset and goals rather than just making money. So much goes into trading. So yep, it can take years (not as many as mine of course) but just stick to it and follow a decent strategy religiously, if you feel it in your bones do it and keep at it. But be smart not impulsive ❤
I have actually help fund people with my own money, so that they could learnt to fish for themselves. They lost he money trading, of course, but they gave up and went back to work, and one even decided to go back to school for a higher degree. I am like you can top all career field pay with some dedication here, and you would rather give money and another few years of dedication to a degree. God bless the conformers.

Im so close, 2.5 years in can pass a prop firm in 3 days… but live had a couple more lessons to teach (despite being the same as the test! )
I have a key question. I analyzed lot of charts but now I feel the chart isbjammed by history of analysis and continously my analysis is improving so I feel I need clear everything and start with a fresh clean chart again using the up to date experience etc.. but don't want lose old analysis to learn from it and acknowledge the improvement.. what to do in this case !

Feel dumb not making money off down market looking at charts now but breakout fake outs are killing me. Then once anticipate fake out breakout it doesn’t fake and goes way far before reversing. Or good trade gets wicked out only to continue trend. Btw trend lines are bust lately too nothing lines up except large time frame charts and low time frame ticks. Every push i see either takes off never testing back or pushing too far back with engulfing candle then takes back off other way only to have inside bars to another breakout to nowhere. Grrr your not alone my man. 3yr in and somehow after 3 weeks of not loosing more than 10$ stop loss to not winning much any trades all week.
He's saying exactly what they all say. What they won't tell you is that the answer isn't to look at the market but yourself ! It's about how small your losses are and how big your winners are. These guys always have something to sell you if they convince you that they know something about the market that u don't. Bullshit.
