I don't have a bird. I have no intention of getting a bird. I don't know anyone with a bird. I don't cook. So can someone tell me why I watched this whole video anyway? It must be that Ashlyn did such a great job :) (Side note: Ashlyn, I love the necklace you're wearing in the pictures at the beginning of the video. Where did you get it?)
Hey!! Ashlyn here :) thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰 I was honestly so nervous as I've never presented on camera before lol I'm glad it was entertaining and engaging!!! As far as the necklace (it is my favorite!) I actually JUST tried to find the company online that I got it from years ago (so that I could give you the link) and they literally went out of business YESTERDAY 😱 can't believe it!! It was from a company called Chloe and Isabel. I'm sad as I had thought about getting a second one in case this one broke.
@@tangothebubbypuppychicken526 You were great! And thank you for the info on the necklace. I'd just heard about Chloe and Isabel going out of business last week!
That's were I was, now I love all her birds, I mean children. An amazing person. I subbed. I don't own a bird, or want one. Its really fantastic to watch.
I used measuring spoons to find the right amount of food for a meal. one day I tried a spoon and a half, next day I used a spoon, then a spoon and a quarter, and etc until I found the right amount. if it doesn’t get eaten by 2 and a half hours it’s too much, I it gets eaten in a minute it’s not enough.
I have followed you guys for years and never owned birds or wanting to own birds (because of the high maintance need). Suddenly a few weeks ago we got a budgie flying in our door. Didnt find the owner. So now we appearantly have a bird. The best part is that I emmediatly started with your feeding system. I bought your online recipes and mixed blueberrys seedmix for him. I also talked with Jen from customer service several times to try to help me find some good pellets here in Norway. Thank you so much for all you videos and online courses. I do have birds, & this is the best source of information I have found. I will add, everyone who either has or wants to have a bird should do & continue to do research before ,as well as keeps birds. Because information is continually increasing about the best care of these enchanting creatures. This is not the only information available, but it is vital that people learn how to properly care for individual species. One size does not fit all birds.
Ashlyn did amazing! I don’t know how I got lost in the rabbit hole of your bird videos-I don’t have birds nor do I plan on cohabiting with any in the future, but I absolutely enjoy everything you put out here for us! I’ve used some of your training techniques with my dog, and my unruly fifteen year old twin boys (haha) with some success. So thank you for all you all do!!
I weigh my bird every 3 days but I can start doing it daily. This really helped clear up the parts of the cook book that I thought were vague. Thank you so much! Link this on the cook book store page haha.
great video. loved it. here's what my bird does. 10% thrown on the walls, 20% at the bottom of the case and 30% in the water bowl! love it! I can't tell you what my vet says about food because he thinks table food and deserts are okay. maybe a conflict of interest. oh, and that's not even counting all the dog and cat food they can steal.

This was great! As a new bird owner, I managed to come around to this by experimenting, but it's really nice to see it confirmed. My GCC is a little pig! Weighing her daily is a must, especially since she is really food motivated, so it helps me make adjustments to how much I'm feeding her as necessary.
Omgness... Goodmorning!! I watched this video (most of them actually!) I subscribed & love them...so THANK YOU!! So yesterday I commented about my new friend "Henry" that flew into my life 2 weeks ago!! Well... I can't believe I didn't think to add seed to chopped vegs!! I worked!!!!! He's eating the chopped mix like a champ!! I'm thrilled as I was worried for his lack of fresh veg & fruit would lead to issues!!! I wish I could show you!! Lol... A million thanks! A Fab way to start our day!! 😊💗
This was a video that I really needed thanks so much. Please could you do a video on training your bird during hormone breeding season. Although my bird doesn’t bite at this time, I feel like I could possibly use training to help divert her from the behaviour, I literally need to cover my feet at all times because it’s such a strong trigger for her trying to regurgitate and step on my feet panting etc. It’s so hard to get her attention when she’s in this place and I can’t make my feet disappear, she will constantly fly to my feet where ever I am, she has the mother of all foot fetishes ! 😂😂
Hello Helen, Ashlyn here :) oh man, I totally understand about hormone season (for Woodrow it seems to be year round sometimes with how much she loves my husband lol!). Jamie and Dave actually just put out an AMAZING new hormones course that, even after working with Jamie and Dave for a year, taught me new things I needed to know about how to handle "Woodrow the love machine" 😂 The link to that course is here - birdtricksstore.com/products/spring-hormones?_pos=1&_sid=24faa56a2&_ss=r Hope this helps! ❤❤
I love the food beak at the end. Ashley, you are an incredible teacher, you are easy to understand and much sweetness comes through. I can honestly say the BirdTricks diet is life changing. Having had my previous cockatiel and now my current cockatiel on it - so much more energy and healthy interaction. It just works. On poop - beware, once you get to feeding in the morning and at night - larger elimination follows. Much love - oh yeah, ice trays are fantastic, I use 1/2 a cube for the evening feeding.
This video is so helpful! noted down all the details so we can put it in practice. Now what we are wondering.. for how long should we let the breakfast for them to eat? how do we know they are really done with it? ours eat a few, play a bit, then come back to eat
Can I just say this is the best most informative video out there!! I only wish I had found this sooner! You do an amazing job breaking this down for those of us who hate math. Thank you guys for the help with my flock ❤️❤️❤️
The "how much" question is SO hard to find answers to! I'm getting a Blue Headed Pionus in two days and have been searching high and low for an answer to this question. This is an amazing informative video, thanks so much Ashlyn and Jamie :)
Hello Ama Lau, Ashlyn here :) thank you so much for your kind words! ❤❤ I plan on being a part of BirdTricks for a long time - they helped change my life with my birds so I hope to continue helping them do the same for others!
Thanks for doing this! I just received the 2 bird bread and pellets package and made one batch of the bread. I need to save up for the recipe books. I have two White Fronted Amazons, Poppy and PepperAnnie, hatch mate sisters that are 16 years old. They are going to be in for a real change of feeding even though they do get a lot of variety in their diet. I am looking forward to getting them a new cage now that I have moved to a retirement community and have a room that can accommodate a larger one. I am learning so much from your channel and am hoping to do more with my girls. They both wave, shake hands, give kisses and mimic bird calls as well as meow and bark but not often on command. One used to talk but stopped after one of my moves. I am thankful for how you are so honest and show the ups and downs of bird care and training. Wish I lived closer!
Hello! Ashlyn here :) You are already on your way to getting your birds on an amazing diet! 👍👍 I do want to mention, the birdie bread is quite dense, so while it may look like your bird isn't eating large quantities of it, those nutrients are still there!! Also, I know you don't have the books yet, but I would recommend introducing your birds to veggies by adding very finely chopped vegetables to the birdie bread mix before baking. This is how I got my picky eaters to start eating veggies, and now they still love their biride bread but will also eat veggies on their own just fine. I hope this helps!! ❤❤
@@tangothebubbypuppychicken526 Thanks Ashlyn, they already do eat fresh veggies but I definitely will be upping the percentage of it in their diet and will try prepping it and freezing it now too. I will be mixing pellets into scrambled egg with some peppers and carrots although I did add some to their dish and they turned them to dust :) so I know they are liking trying them already.
Great video thanks to the both of you. Brilliant way to see the amount they are eating. I'm still having trouble getting mine to eat the healthy pellets, I've crushed a few just so she gets the taste but so far throws out more than she eats!!!!
Okay. In the midst of covid, I'm going for it. I just ordered the pellets and the digital "cookbooks." I have 2 budgies. I made the seed recipe y'all posted. After 1 month, they love it. They will begin a new year with the chop recipes and pellets. Woop woop! Good video "email" lady 😛
Thank you so much for this!!! Even though I've been using several very good parrot cookbooks, I needed this video. I have Indian Ringnecks who were all on strictly seeds when we got them. Switching them over to pellets has been a nightmare. They do not like them, and I just hear thump! thump! thump! as they drop them to the bottom of the cage. Seems like a huge waste of money. But the fruit and veggies.... HUGE HIT!!! This will really help me ensure that I get the ratio right. Thanks so much.
Hey!! Ashlyn here :) thank you!! I'm so happy this helped!!! ❤❤ I know it helped me a ton when I started switching over their diets, and I continue to do this anytime I start seeing fluctuations in weights.
You guys are seriously the best! I can’t thank you all enough for how dedicated you all are to answering our questions! The bird community is so lucky to have you!
After watching your video, I realized that I am overfeeding my Blue-front Amazon. I adopted her a year ago and know that her eating habits were not particularly good before and she is 23 years old, so old habits may be harder to change. I give her pellets in the morning and if there are no seeds in her cage, she will eat them. Today I am going to make "chop" for her and start that tomorrow too. I want to cut back on the seeds because the Avian vet said she is prone to fatty liver disease and being over-weight. Thanks a lot!
I started with 2 tbsp of pellets. My conures get 1 flat tbsp, my Quaker gets a slightly rounded tbsp because he is overweight (came to me that way), my moustache and brown head get a heaping tbsp. If I don’t have time to do chop, I always have sprouts on the go for them. My Quaker is the fussiest. I have to wet his pellets, and not fussy about fruit or veggies. But I keep trying.
Great info Ashlyn and simply explained. I have the cookbooks so I will check out some spring recipes ..... at last Winter is over in Tassie ..... I throw away nothing the dogs get the leftover veges and fresh of course and the the wild birds get the Tops pellets .... we have some extremely fat finches that visit too.
Love this video! Very informative! Just one question, my babies go to sleep and 6pm and I wake them at 6am (or 7ish am) They start eating but, how long should I leave out the chop for? And when should their evening feeding be? What do you guys do?
Perfect information for my timneh african grey he is now on an all seed diet with some veggies and fruits but i want to cut out the seeds as the main food source and put pallets instead and give him some seeds only if we are training
The whole video? LOL. I’ve watched about 15 bird videos in the last week. I have no birds. I have no intention of ever getting a bird. But this crew are so engaging I can’t stop watching.

That was awesome you done a great job i just brought an Indian ringneck and i had no idea how much to feed now i do thanks heaps i need those scales thanks Michelle love the videos they are very informative thanks
Hi Ashlyn, great video! I have a sun conure who is about 11 months old. When I bought him he was fed purina pellets and those are the only pellets he will eat. I also leave his bowl in his cage 24/7. How do you recommend converting the type of pellets he’s eating while also altering his diet to two feedings a day? Do I take his bowl out and start feeding him two meals cold turkey and then work on converting the pellets? I would appreciate any pointers on this! Also how long do you leave their breakfast & dinner in with them? Thank you!
Thanks guys! This was SO helpful! I watched it a long time ago, but I'm just finally getting on the feeding system now and I was so worried he wasn't eating enough, but he's scared of the scale perch I made for him. We're working on that, but in the mean time, it's good to know he's eating a reasonable amount of food. I'm measuring his intake very carefully (subtracting the weight of all the bits he discards and everything he doesn't eat from what I give him).
Getting my first parrot in two weeks, a baby turquoise Quaker, and this video was TREMENDOUSLY helpful! Ashlyn-you did a fantastic job explaining the process! Jamie-I’ve watched dozens of your videos now and plan on purchasing your nutritional feeding system with the organic pellets a d your baby parrot course to start out! I can't thank Ashlyn enough for making this video and gonna sub her channel and watch all videos even though I don't watch other "bird youtubers" (accept birdtricks and parrot wizzard) showing big birds as I like smaller species and sometimes its totally irrelevant information that other youtubers give.
Hello, Ashlyn here :) thank you so much for your kind words ❤❤ I'm just so thankful to Jamie for trusting me to help her with this video, and grateful to both Jamie and Dave for changing my life with my birds!! They truly have the birds' best intentions at heart and are amazing trainers and friends!
Sorry if I missed it somehow but, how much time should you give your bird to feed? My bird always acts like he’s starving to death by the time dinner rolls around!
I have a question that is not about the food, since that was really well explained. When your birds are outside in those great aviaries, do you worry about mosquitoes and stinging insects that get in? My husband, who is so overly protective of our babies, will NOT let me take them outside for that much-needed fresh air and sunlight because of the amount of insects here. I know that we have somewhat the same latitudinal coordinate, so I was wondering if insects that could possible harm your birds is a concern (such as mosquitoes spreading West Nile or a wasp stinging them).
Hello, Ashlyn here :) I can completely understand your concern about bugs, and if it is a super severe problem in your area I can see how it would be hard to want to keep them outside. I, personally, use my screened in patio as my outdoor "aviary" for Woodrow and Tango has his indoor room/aviary that he stays in when he's not hanging with us or outside flying. Jamie, I do not believe, has a bug problem with her aviaries. However, some articles that might be of help to you can be found here - birdtricksstore.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=bugs* I hope this helps!
Thank you for making this video, ladies! This is exactly what I needed, just a starting point. I can't wait! I know my macaw can't, either. She LOVES fresh foods, but now I know the right foods!
Birdie bread is DENSE and should definitely not be fed in nearly these quantities, but you could apply the same idea for figuring out how much birdie bread to feed. We recommend all fruits only be given as treats, not as a daily item, due to their high sugar content (this can create energy spikes in your bird which could be released as aggression or unwanted behaviors. Plus they don't need that much sugar on a daily basis :) ) Hope this helps!
Thanks for the video! We are starting the natural feeding system and wondered how much to give. The question I have is when I see my buddy eating at what point so I know he’s done? I know it sounds silly but is it like 15 minutes is it an hour? Is it when he stops going back to his bowl? I really just don’t know abs thank you again so much!
Very informative. What about a baby bird that is still growing or for someone that works all day and can't give treats during the day, should they leave pellets for them or wait until the evening?
Baby birds/weaning birds should have access to food 24/7 during the weaning process as they're just learning to play and explore with their food. Still, don't leave so much that it goes stale or gross.
So helpful! I am currently working with two rescued cockatoos who are not use to eating healthy foods and it’s so hard to know if they are getting enough nutrition! One of them I can handle to weigh the other I can’t so I need to find a way to weigh the whole cage or something.
What if you get your bird & it's overweight or underweight? How do you know what is the right weight for your bird? I guess a vet would know better, but I feel that it may be difficult to ascertain.
Hey! Ashlyn here :) great question! We recommend giving your bird about 3 hours before taking it out and weighing it. This gives your bird plenty of time to eat, but also gets the food out of the cage before bacteria can really start to build on it.
@@tangothebubbypuppychicken526 thanks for the reply!!! You don't know how many times I've wondered this!!! I've heard them talk about weighing the food before/after but I couldn't figure out how long to give them to eat 😂😂
i have a parrotlet they call them pacific parrotlets in the states they call them celestial here in the uk either parrotlets or parakeetlets :) so a smaller version of a parrot that are pretty quiet they do make sounds but theyre not that loud.....
I have a juvenile GCC she is picky !! OMG if I don't base her chomp with a sweet base like a tangerine or such she won't eat it. And I have included things slowly. But, I really want your freeze dried diet. I just am hoping it works she is on a pellet. But this has been crazy.
Ok I am going to be a new sun conure mom. I am starting to feel a lil overwhelmed with the morning feeding and what I mix to make the food. I have questions on the training also but I will keep watching lol.
Question: Do most parrots learn to not fling and waste most of their food if us owners stop loading up their bowls? OR, are most parrots hardwired to fling and waste as they eat (evolutionarily, the behavior seeds the rainforest) and so lack the ability to gauge amounts, shortage and conserving in sparse times? Weighing the bowl before and after and subtracting does not determine amount eaten but rather amount no longer in the bowl which is equal to amount eaten plus amount flung. Right?
Great information but I’m Left with questions... I have a 4 month old conure. How should weight be evaluated in a growing bird and at what age are they full grown.. also should food not be in the cage at night? Usually I leave a food bowl through the day
Hello Tina, Ashlyn here :) I do not have much personal experience with baby birds, but I know Jamie always says that baby birds/weaning birds SHOULD have 24/7 access to food as they are just learning about their food and tend to play with it while learning. However, if you have fresh foods in there you still want to take them out after 3-4 hours and replace them with a new batch as bacteria can begin growing and get nasty. Pellets should be changed and refreshed as well just so they don't get gross. Once your bird is fully weaned and a little older, then you can begin putting some time between the morning meal and evening meal, slowly working your way to having a single meal in the morning for a couple hours and a single meal in the evening. Hope this helps!! ❤
I got the NFS and wished that there was some sort of fillable/print page to enter this data (the how much to feed) and to guide on the info you provided on this video ;) maybe future cookbook update!
We are in the process of converting from seeds, nuts and dried fruit to the feeding system so I have been leaving food in the bowl for the whole day. We have a 6 month old Caique who is about 130g on average, but he seems to be eating all. day. long. and if I don't allow it, he gets super agitated. In fact, even with all this food, there is still agitation, which I suspect is because I have changed things a bit. I am soaking the seeds, but he is still getting a mix of seeds in his food so I think he might be pulling those out first and then screaming because he wants more. We've paused on training so we don't confuse things with the extra seeds, because he was getting agitated with that too, probably because he was wanting to fill up on those seeds rather than his veggies/chop. Please tell me this gets better? I am trying to slowly transition from the seeds, nuts (I already cut the dried fruit out completely), but it feels like torture, lol. He doesn't interact with us now without yelling and screaming at us most of the time, then he goes right back to eating nonstop again. He wasn't like this on the seed, nut and fruits, but we didn't want him becoming hormonal and behavioral as he ages, so we started working on the change right away (we just got him two weeks ago) and it feels like no one is happy right now. 😕
Great video!! Very easy to follow and understand. I have been watching your channel for a very long time and I have always wanted a bird. After so much research and looking into what my pet stores sell I am going between a Quaker parrot and a green checked conure. Any recommendations? Thanks so much and as always great video 👍
Is it OK to feed your birds together? Do you just double up the food? They have separate bowls but they still go back and forth between each other's bowls.
Great video!! Good job Ashlyn. Any suggestions for a stubborn sun conure who absolutely hates your pellets & will scoop them all out her dish onto the floor & go hungry? I tried the Birdtricks pellets 3x’s & threw out really expensive food. But she loves her Zupreem Natural
Hi Nancy!! Ashlyn here :) Send me an email at "info@birdtricks.com" and I'll be happy to send you some conversion guides along with a video I did on my youtube channel of a recipe that converted my super picky eaters! (Or if you search "tango the bubbypuppychicken birdie bread" it should come up in UA-cam).
We have an African grey and a double yellow headed Amazon. We do pellets in the morning and fruit and vegetables in the evening. I assume it doesn’t make any difference which way round you do it??
I tend to feed my birds veggies 2x per day. I realized I do things a little backwards too. I feed veggies with more pellets for breakfast (I do a mix of BirdTricks pellets and roudybush), and then for dinner I do more veggies with a tiny bit of fruit (although I’m considering doing the fruit at breakfast time) and then I sprinkle just a few of the BirdTricks pellets over the top (like maybe 5). This has become the routine, but I’m open to changing things if needed. What do you think?
Hello Lexi, Ashlyn here :) We always give the recommendation of veggies then pellets since that is what has been found to work with most birds in their natural cycle (the veggies give them energy for the day and the pellets are neutral letting them settle in for a nice calm evening of sleep). However, even I have tweaked it for my birds to fit what works best for them (I do veggies in the morning, veggies/pellets in the evening). If you find that what you are doing keeps their behavior even (no spikes of energy/aggression), they are sleeping for their full 12 hours, and their motivation levels for training are good (not too much not too little) then go for it!! The only real change I would recommend is that you consider fruit as a treat rather than just being given. Fruit was a major part of how Bondi, years ago, developed fatty liver disease (thankfully it reversed with time and a change in diet - hence the cookbooks!) The amount of sugars in fruit just don't work well with captive birds. However, that doesn't mean they never get fruit, it just means they have to earn it. Mine earn fruit for exceptional behaviors, learning new tricks, or (for Tango) coming inside after a morning of flying - just to give some examples ❤ Hope this helps!
Tango the BubbyPuppyChicken Thank you for the great info! I haven’t noticed any energy spikes/aggression, and I have 2 young children at home, so everyone is on a routine of early bedtime, haha. I definitely see what you mean about the fruit! The amount that I’m giving is very very small. Example would be 1 slice of apple, 2 raspberries, and a tiny bit of banana split among my whole flock, but I may try using the fruit as a treat to see how it pans out. I appreciate your info!
I keep pellet and fruit flavored dry food,at all times is this good plus I givefresh fruit Dailey am I doing this wrong ? Please answer me. My Lola is now 5 years old I’ve owned her 1 year.
How do you manage quantities if you have multiple birds sharing a cage or aviary? Does everyone have their own bowl? Do you ever have issues with one bird eating the other's food, or do they mostly stick to their own serving?
I need to make a document of just UA-cam URLs and what questions they answer. This video and the one Marlene posted yesterday (or the day before?) are going to be needed for both of y'all's FB groups. And for my friends and my mom (my IRN loves her voice so much, so she wants to learn more about birds

If you need help finding something on a particular topic, I would recommend going to www.birdtricksstore.com and clicking on the magnifying glass at the top of the page - this is our search bar where you can search through thousands of blogs that BirdTricks has put out over the years! Sometimes these blog articles have links to videos that can help :) Hope this helps!! ❤❤
Can you please direct me to info on how to present prepare your organic pellets. I've tried in past to get my Amazon parrot to eat dry pellets which was downright refused. Softening the same. Pulverising yes but I'd like to get him eating pellets independently. Can you help me with this. I found this video amazingly helpful as I've been concerned about adequate quantity. I recognise all the variables determining "how much". I like the scales/perch.
Thank you for making this video! Though it seems obvious sometimes, but we really need this Btw is this applicable when transitioning to healthy diet? Or maybe any tip as my budgie is still young but stubborn (he never finish his mix and always pick the seeds)
But how long do you leave their food down for them to eat? Do you give them 1/2 an hour to eat, 1 hour to eat, before you pick up the food bowl. Or do you leave breakfast out until dinner?
question, does this “left over” amount account for the pieces they just pick up, take a bite and drop? So if they get 25 g of pellets and drop/nibble on half, do you count that waste or just what’s leftover in their bowl?
So I guess I was doing everything wrong! I’m feeding veggies in the morning but I leave their seed mix food all day. I’ll be switching to pellets, so during the in between breakfast and dinner they shouldn’t have food?

Weighing her daily is a must, especially since she is really food motivated, so it helps me make adjustments to how much I'm feeding her as necessary.
Omgness... Goodmorning!! I watched this video (most of them actually!)
I subscribed & love them...so THANK YOU!!
Jamie and Dave actually just put out an AMAZING new hormones course that, even after working with Jamie and Dave for a year, taught me new things I needed to know about how to handle "Woodrow the love machine" 😂 The link to that course is here - birdtricksstore.com/products/spring-hormones?_pos=1&_sid=24faa56a2&_ss=r
Hope this helps!
Omg hi Miss Ashlyn!!!! She was AMAZING when I sent an email, please keep her!! She went above and beyond what I needed. 🥰🤗
Hello Ama Lau, Ashlyn here :) thank you so much for your kind words! ❤❤ I plan on being a part of BirdTricks for a long time - they helped change my life with my birds so I hope to continue helping them do the same for others!
Ashlyn's helped me online with my natural feeding system order! Great to put a face to the name. Ashlyn's amazing!
Oh my gosh, I was JUST about to go into a research session about this!
Thank you, Ashlyn! I was so confused and didn’t understand at first, but you explained a difficult concept very nicely. Thanks!!
THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST!!! I have been struggling to figure this out and this helps SO MUCH! Thank you Jamie and Ashlynn!
Love how you explain everything in the video! I definitely will be using this formula in the near future when I get my sun conure.
Perfect information for my timneh african grey he is now on an all seed diet with some veggies and fruits but i want to cut out the seeds as the main food source and put pallets instead and give him some seeds only if we are training
Well done...difficult topic to explain done easily and brilliantly. 😁
Hello Tracy, Ashlyn here :) Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy this information is out there as it helped me immensely in the beginning!
Thank you for this guide, she explained this so well! Y’all have some very lucky birds.
How did I end up on this channel 15 videos deep and IN LOVE ???? 😂 okay I'm addicted to your birds!
The whole video? LOL. I’ve watched about 15 bird videos in the last week. I have no birds. I have no intention of ever getting a bird. But this crew are so engaging I can’t stop watching.
LOVED this video!! Great explanation of feeding amounts!!! Great job!!! My guys do great on the feeding system!🥰
Hi jamie
Wow.. Interesting video..
I like so much..
Learned a lot...
Thanks for sharing..🙏👍😊
I’m thinking of getting a Quaker parakeet and searched up to look on there diets. I’m so happy to have found this channel! do u have anything I should be aware of if I do get a Quaker?
This is so helpful, I am adopting a cockatiel and have ordered your pellet, books, and plan to switch him to your diet.
So thrilled I discovered @BirdTricks. You provide such a tremendous life for your birds....if these stunning, majestic creatures aren’t free in the wild then the next best place is surely you and Dave’s. Thank you for your genuine, personable, information-packed, no frills/no drama videos....they are truly a (parrot) lifesaver ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Very well done and very helpful. Thank you.
Extremely practical and helpful, fantastic "no waste" :) , clear, logical, easy to learn presentation of info...plus, beautiful Birds! How great is that? Thanks, guys 💚🐦💚johanna
thank you so much for all these new information!! thank you for the videos!!!I have started with the pdf book about diet conversion from birdtricks and it is so helpfull!!!
i was about to ask you this question im so glad you made this video! as i am getting to juvenile sun conures soon!
Great guest appearance by Ashlyn!
Thank you Ashland! Really helpful. Also, thank you for lifting up your students learning and leadership. ,💗🙏🏽💗
Informational love it i hope that everyone with birds learned alot from this
I prepare veggies mash everyday for my birds. I don't fill the bowls because I am still in transition and put seeds in the mash.
They are very happy!
However, some articles that might be of help to you can be found here - birdtricksstore.com/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=bugs*
I hope this helps!
@@tangothebubbypuppychicken526 This really helps. Thank you!
Thank you for making this video, ladies! This is exactly what I needed, just a starting point. I can't wait! I know my macaw can't, either. She LOVES fresh foods, but now I know the right foods!
Great job Ashley! I have a question, what about the birdie bread? I’ve been giving my Caique a small piece of that (1oz.) ,apples and grapes.
Plus they don't need that much sugar on a daily basis :) )
Hope this helps!
What a perfect video! Im not sure why but these solutions seem so simple yet my 5head brain has never thought of them haha. Thank you for sharing!
I really love your videos, they really are so helpful. I always wonder how much is enough when I feed my budgerigars.
Great collaboration!
What if you get your bird & it's overweight or underweight? How do you know what is the right weight for your bird?
I guess a vet would know better, but I feel that it may be difficult to ascertain.
Thank you Ashlyn, fabulous job!
How long do you give the bird to finish it's morning meal before you take it away and weigh it?
Do you also feed for lunch or just 3 hours of chop in the morning & pellets at night?
i have a parrotlet they call them pacific parrotlets in the states they call them celestial here in the uk either parrotlets or parakeetlets :) so a smaller version of a parrot that are pretty quiet they do make sounds but theyre not that loud.....
This was an amazing video and very helpful! Thanks so much :)
I love this video, it helps a lot and it makes everything easier. Thanks for doing it
What a wonderful video!!!! Thank you so much! I have been doing everything wrong 😑🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Can you do a video of cooking and chopping???
Great video!! Very easy to follow and understand. I have been watching your channel for a very long time and I have always wanted a bird. After so much research and looking into what my pet stores sell I am going between a Quaker parrot and a green checked conure. Any recommendations? Thanks so much and as always great video 👍
Thanks...great share of information!
Really helpful and clearly explained. Thanks girls!
Lefty made a cameo at 10:05! I wanted to get a quaker after watching all those Lefty videos, but quakers are illegal where I live, sigh.
And thank you for the kind words!! ❤❤
Can the food that's in the books available apply also for a Bourke parakeet?
I'd love to see more info in regards to a Bourke if possible!!!
How long should we give them to eat?
I need to make a document of just UA-cam URLs and what questions they answer. This video and the one Marlene posted yesterday (or the day before?) are going to be needed for both of y'all's FB groups. And for my friends and my mom (my IRN loves her voice so much, so she wants to learn more about birds
Hello Leah, Ashlyn here :) This is a great idea!! If you need help finding something on a particular topic, I would recommend going to www.birdtricksstore.com and clicking on the magnifying glass at the top of the page - this is our search bar where you can search through thousands of blogs that BirdTricks has put out over the years! Sometimes these blog articles have links to videos that can help :)
Hope this helps!! ❤❤
Thanks! That'll help quite a bit.
Though it seems obvious sometimes, but we really need this
Btw is this applicable when transitioning to healthy diet? Or maybe any tip as my budgie is still young but stubborn (he never finish his mix and always pick the seeds)
Thank you so much for this video!!!! Very helpful
Thank you so much. This is so helpful
exactlt what i needed!
Hey I remember those aviaries. I saw them in the first video I watched. Where'd you get them and why don't you show them more often?
So I guess I was doing everything wrong! I’m feeding veggies in the morning but I leave their seed mix food all day. I’ll be switching to pellets, so during the in between breakfast and dinner they shouldn’t have food?
This helped me soooooo much. Thank you!
