A Quick Tour of Tybee Island | Drive Through

- In this video we took a small trip around Tybee Island to try to capture some of the places located around the area. We traveled the main highway, US 80, up and down the island as well as a few side roads. By no means did we capture everything but we did do show most of what we could. None of the places shown or not included should be construed as an opinion on the businesses or how we felt about any of them. There was simply too much to capture! Anyway, this is our quick little tour. Come along as we show you what we found!

We pulled our rv to tybee last summer from Tennessee...best vacation ever!...food was great..people were nice...went to IGA and they had fresh shrimp never been frozen..we got 3 lb..cooked them at campsite..awesome..the most laid back beach town ever been too...now our favorite..

So this was just a quick tour of the area, the driving part so to speak. We did other videos about Tybee which included south beach and stuff to do near north beach. Look though our other videos for more Tybee content. We pretty much show all there is to do in Tybee beside watersports. Hopefully the other videos will help.

Yes! We were watching it last year, and I got all excited when I saw Fannies on the Beach!
My grandmother lived on Tybee for 20 years, I went there many times as a kid, she moved away about 4 years ago cos of the hurricanes, I've not been there for at least 5 years, would love to go back some day!
It must have been amazing living on Tybee. You should definitely plan a trip there. Always fun to revisit places from your childhood!

So many options for food, that crab shack just made my list, Lol! Loved the drone shots at the end as well. Just got our new drone up, running and insured after the Osprey attack, Lol! Great video can't wait to see the next one ~ London
The Crab Shack was very interesting! You guys would love the food on Tybee. We have had a few close calls with different birds. They don't seem to like the noise.

The crab shack is a good place to visit there. I got king crab and oh my god. That was a delightful experience
Georgia's, South Carolina's oceanic coastlines are Super and clean. İ seldom had swam in atlantic ocean in Hilton İsland of Georgia while living in Milledgeville. Good for pensioners.
We love swimming in all types of water! Tybee Island is such a charming island! We would definitely return. We have not been to South Carolina beaches yet, but maybe one day. It is on our list! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Those restaurants are so cool! You want Bohemian style places when you are at the beach (or ‘shore’ where I am from! 🌊
Right! The restaurants there have a laid back southern beach vibe. The servers are all friendly. The food was delicious! We have some food tours and places to eat come up soon. Unfortunately could not try them all but gave a shout out at least to some of them. Thank you for your comments!

Definitely would be a fun place to retire to. They have one grocery store on the island and one fast food restaurant (Arby's). You can walk the whole island in just a few hours. Sounds peaceful to me lol. Enjoy your retirement when it comes!

@Tom Simpson depending on what you do, there are plenty of jobs down here. You can look in places like Tampa or Orlando. Rent and home ownership is really expensive right now. I would look on Indeed or linkin for job.

Got any plans? Fannies on the beach has some of the best nachos! We had such a great time in Tybee just relaxing and eating lol. There are over 30 restaurants on the island and only one fast food restaurant.
Where can you drive golf carts? Are there designated lanes throughout the island?
This is off of Tybee Golf Carts Rules For Renters:
Carts Are Prohibited From Operating On The Four Lane Road (Highway 80/Butler Ave)
Highway 80/Butler Ave Can Only Be Crossed At Intersections With An Operable Traffic Light (Campbell Ave., Jones Ave., 14th St.)
All Drivers Of Our Carts Must Be At Least 18 Years Old And Possess A Valid Drivers License And Auto Insurance -
Reports Of Underage Drivers Will Result In Forfeiture Of Cart
Carts Are Driven On Two Lane Roads And Must Abide By All Traffic/Motor Vehicle Laws

We show the beach on our other video. This is more of a look of the town. It was a real short drive around. We went to the south beach where we stayed in another video. Check that out if you are interested in the beach. 🙂

We labeled what we could. There is a lot to do on the island and we only spent a long weekend there. Amazing place! We would definitely go back again.

I’m going in April do I need a car ?
So if you do not plan to leave Tybee island, you might not need a car. At the south end of the island, you can walk to a lot of things. It would take a little bit to walk to the north end from the south. We used our truck half the time. It all depends on how much you like to walk. There is a bike rental on the island, too, if that interests you. Thanks for watching!

You may like Hilton Head Bch in SC better.. only roughly an hour away. Way more to see and do if this is not your speed.
@@ricai132 I've been to Hilton Head many times in the 70's, was stationed at Ft Bragg with a chap from there. Good memories. I'm not sure how I missed Tybee however I'm located in UK now.
OMG, you definitely need to find some different music!!! It ruined what I feel would have been a very good video.
This video was shot when we first started. We did not make any money and had to rely on UA-cam music. We have for 2 years now paid for Epidemic Sound, which has so much more music to explore. One day, maybe we will go back and redo this video. I am sure things have changed in the past 3 years lol.
