I love "confide in me". And the mv of "come into my world" is mesmerising too. Another song to listen to from Nick Cave and the bad seeds ft Kylie is where the wild roses grow
So glad you enjoyed my list. Thank you for reacting! 😁 If anyone watching would like to see a Kylie Week 2, please vote for mine under the request video. It has Confide...Better the Devil...All the Lovers, Come into My World and Slow!
@@cricriylascuarentahermanas728 Only 5 slots 😅 I went with Kylie's biggest US hits + her most recent hit for Week 1. I understand that not everyone has liked that strategy. I have Slow and Lovers on my Week 2 list. 🙂I'd be grateful if you could please vote for it before this week's livestream.
One thing this list doesn't really do is show her versatility as a pop star. Confide In Me is essential to her journey, as is Where The Wild Roses Grow. GBI shows what she can do when she goes a bit leftfield and Spinning Around proves that when she returns to a lane she is most comfortable in, there are few who can match her. She's dabbled in R&B and Indie, hell she's even recorded a Bollywood song! This list merely hints at what she's done.
This is also the only Kylie Minogue song that I knew from before! It’s been a fun week getting to know her music more :)) Thank you for a great reaction once again!!❤️
It was with this song that I discovered Kylie when I was a child, I loved it and looked for other songs. She has a huge catalog, and it's like you said, we're discovering her other songs and loving them☺️
You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Kylie, at least in the rest of the world has always managed to capture the zeitgeist in a way that few of her contemporaries can (Madonna aside of course). That she constantly reinvents her sound and image helps a great deal too. There has to be another Kylie week - there are some huge songs of hers that you are yet to discover.
yeah true but only due to her persistance, I am old enough to remember the time everyone loved her but noone was actually buyng her music, loving her does not pay her bills ... without gay culture to keep playing her music in the nightclubs she would have disapeared, there was a big gap where she barely manage to keep above the surface, till her big comeback and revival with spining around!
@@vinayparek3671only in the UK. Australia, Nee Zealand and some of Europe/Asia loved it. The UK eventually grew to appreciate it and it’s now well-regarded, but it took a long time.
I know you're done with Kylie, but the coolest thing she ever did is a song called "Slow" and the music video I think connects the dots between a lot of her music, and it has maybe the best choreography of any music video I have ever seen. not because it's hard or crazy but because it suits the song and the video so well, in a way that I haven't really seen anywhere else.
This was such a hit in Eastern Europe! Still one of my fav songs to this day ☺️ I also wonder if Lady Gaga pulled any inspiration from this video for “Bad Romance” in terms of mannerisms and hand movements…
The curly look is a throwback to 80s Kylie when she had to look "girl next door" by her record company. Not a coincidence that the 80s look appear during the "set me free" part.
At that time, her dancers' outfits and choreography had a quasi-futuristic neo-retro vibe that became a bit of a signature style of hers. Visually, it harks back to 60's fashions from Paco Rabanne, André Courrèges and the like.
Cathy Dennis (songwriter on this track) is one of the best pop writers of her time, and Kylie rarely puts a foot wrong with her production team, but a lot of it is down to her; she knows exactly what she does well, and she is very serious about doing it very well… but in the nicest possible way. She’s probably the nicest, most down to earth pop star there ever was.
This list did not displayed Kylie's music career... two songs from the same 80's album, two songs from the same 00's album. It was a pretty narrowed list. She's been around five decades, so it makes sense to at least have a song from every decade. These are my suggestions for week #2: #5 Wouldn't Change A Thing #4 Confide In Me #3 Chocolate #2 All The Lovers #1 Magic
yeah we definitly need a week 2 for sure, her catalogue is too huge. again, songs like "slow", Chocolate", "all the lovers", " i believe in you", "in your eyes", "on a night like this", confide in me" are just a few examples to show how cool she actually is, and can´t get you out of my head(as much as i love it) isn´t even her best song. give it a try. you won´t regret it.
We need a week 2!! And a 3!! Kylie is legit equal to Madonna outside of the USA, yes she is that huge guys, she has SO many hits in so many countries and is loved globally! Try "Slow", "Come into my World" "Confide in me" "Spinning Around or On a night like this" and my fave "GET OUTTA MY WAY" ❤❤❤
First of all, thank you for consistently delivering such amazing reactions. They’re not only entertaining but also insightful and refreshing. Your analysis is always spot on, making your videos a joy to watch. Keep up the great work! Regarding this song, I completely agree with your take. You described the simplicity of it perfectly-how it feels lounge-like but still hits differently. Kylie’s signature sound has evolved but still retains that distinct pop tone. Although I’m not usually a fan of pop, Kylie is one of the few exceptions. Her music is meticulously produced, keeping you engaged even if pop isn’t your preferred genre. This style, which was popular in the early 2000s, reminds me of tracks like Simply Red's Sunrise or Anggun's Summer in Paris. These songs create big sounds from minimal arrangements, tapping into what listeners crave. What stands out about Kylie’s hits is their simplicity, which can feel clichéd, but they’re infused with an almost imperceptible soulfulness. You can hear it in the bassline, guitar riffs, and strings, especially in this song. Despite being pop, there’s a subtle depth that makes her music special. This approach reminds me of Sade, who also used minimal sounds to create a rich atmosphere, though in a different genre. Kylie’s voice might not be unique, but it blends beautifully with her music, creating something truly captivating.
Fun seeing your appreciation for the Kylie catalogue. While entranced to this song, you both hit on so much of what made it connect and popular. Also fun shoutout 3:20 to "Put Your Hands Up for Detroit"by Fedde le Grand - a fun video/song!

(by the way, this tour has the most expensive stage ever created for a show, simply breathtaking) 5 - Kylie Minogue: Summer Tour - In My Arms (Live in São Paulo at GRLS Festival) [Edited] Hugs guys, I love your channel and I follow you here in Brazil 🇧🇷❤️ I🇧🇷❤️
Kylie has so many amazing songs and videos. I wonder why The Locomotion made it into the top 5? It’s not great and she has so many far superior tracks.
6:03 I already stated that Fever was her biggest hit album in the USA. It had really good marketing with strong song titles, catchier songs, less generic Europop production, and a Y2K fashion aesthetic. All purposefully designed to penetrate the US market more successfully. And it did.
I think this song sounded like nothing else at the time. You could compare it to “Around the World” by ATC and other late ‘90s euro dance songs, but it’s so much smoother and sexier, and the la la la hook paired with the infinite bass riff is insanely catchy. It’s her signature for good reason, and really captures her effortless cool sexy appeal.
The strength of the song lies in its simplicity. The La La La hook pierces your consciousness like the best lullabies do - this song was considered so profound and impactful that an entire book examining the impact and significance of pop music over the course of our history was based around it. It STILL sounds ahead of its time, 25 years later. Its a classic but FAR from the best Kylie song.
This was played at my prom 😅 Also played at my prom: Daft Punk's "One More Time," Dirty Vegas's "Days Go By," Modjo's "Lady"," Sean Paul's "Deport Them," and our last dance was Donna Summer's "Last Dance." Good goddamn times!!
Also, at least for me, the main reason she went crazy big in the usa in 2001 with this song and album is cuz everything sounded the same in 2001. Either Neptunes, Darkchild, Timbaland, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, etc or stuff like no doubt/coldplay/goo goo dolls/santana-ish type sounds were the only thing radios were playing at that time. And the "dance" music at the time was dumb fun euro-trash but it also sounded quite similar, for the exception of daft punk and Melanie C, but stuff like vengaboys, aqua, a-teens, etc were the only "techno/dance" references we had... but this was different. The video, her voice, the beat, her beauty, the use of the beautiful strings, the choreo, the lyrics and song it self... it was new to the usa. It was on the Simpsons, SNL, TRL, Sex and the City, etc like or hate electronic music, you could not escape it. I remember being a sophomore and this cd would not leave my walkman! And in 2008 Greg Kirsten did an AMAZING remix to CGYOOMH for her X tour and I play it at least once a day. Hope you have at least another 2 weeks so you can see why the rest of the world loves her and why the usa needs to (it slowly is) catch up!
Kylie’s version of the Locomotion is actually the most popular and most played version that’s been played on the radio in the US since she released it in the ‘80s. So if you’ve heard á version of it somewhere, it most probably was Kylie’s version and not the original ‘60s version.
For a star that big, another week is a must.... I mean Slow, On a night like this, Better the Devil you know, Hand on your Heart (also how Jose Gonzalez re-interpreted it), Tension, Chocolate, All the Lovers, Say Something... AND WHERE IS "CONFIDE IN ME"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (all her discography tbh)
I do love curly Kylie too, she could use her hair more like this! And I love love love the violin sound in the final part of the song, it’s so well placed!
It isn’t a surprise that it seems as if Kylie (and her team) had their finger on the pulse of the times. She was at least partially responsible for steering tastes and setting trends. She wasn’t necessarily following the tone she was creating it….
All The Lovers, The One, I Believe In You, Confide In Me, Slow, Your Disco Needs You, Get Out Of My Way, Sexercize, Supernova, Chocolate, Come Into My World, Wow, Where The Wild Roses Grow... you guys need a whole YEAR to get through SOME of her best stuff!
I know it's a bit dark, but 're the zeitgeist moment of this song, it helps to remember that it was huge in October/November 2001. Can't get you out of my head was a common feeling at that time, sadly.
OK, I consulted with my friend, it got a little lively but we came up with this list with the hope that you guys have never seen these music videos. If you've never heard all of these songs even better! 2000s R&B music videos week 5 - Fat Joe ft Ashanti - Whats love 4 - Pink - There you go 3 - Nivea ft Brian & Brandon Casey - Don't mess with my man 2 - Mya - My love is like...wo 1 - Bobby Valentino - Slow down
Im from New Zealand and I remember when this song first came out and she was considered scandalous for her choice in attire. Songs still a banger and I love what she is wearing.
In my age I know the development of Kylie, from the innocent singer who sang light pop songs like "I should be so lucky" and "Locomotion", through the sex appeal in the song "I can get you..." to today when she is a pop icon and does not try to prove himself, as Madonna still does. Kylie is a natural pop icon.

2. All The Lovers

It came out worldwide (apart from the USA) in the same week as 9/11.
OK, I consulted with my friend, it got a little lively but we came up with this list with the hope that you guys have never seen these music videos. If you've never heard all of these songs even better!
2000s R&B music videos week

Im from New Zealand and I remember when this song first came out and she was considered scandalous for her choice in attire. Songs still a banger and I love what she is wearing.
You guys need to react to. SPINNING AROUND
More KYLIE: Spinning Around-2000 .. Come Into My World-2001 .. Slow-2003 . All 3 songs and videos are very different and Great!
We’re is SLOW? DANCING? SAY SOMETHING? SPINNING AROUND? So many and so diferent!
You guys need to do a reaction to Time bomb. It blew my mind.
This song was written by the great Cathy Dennis...look her up if you don't know.
La la la la la lala la la la....
