I believe it would be better to find an ukranian or russian translator and let the guys speak in their native language at the interviews. it is clear that some of them are really struggling and the communication is difficult. Great job tho

@Willy OAM please get these people that keep hitting me up saying I won something, I'm going to leave a stark warning to those people, my brother works for a hacking program for the US and will use his skills for me to get rid of you and if you have a group of people. Worth watching in full despite the communication problems.
Really interesting to hear a Pilot's perspective on the war.
As he said the helicopter relief and resupply missions into Mariupol are already legend.
The footage and commentary on those is well worth searching out on UA-cam.
The stories of the soldiers brought in and the wounded recovered before Russia caught on and shut or shot down the last flights are pretty moving.
His words about fellow pilots from Crimea and at the end of the video regarding Russian aircrew denying responsibility for their actions were good to hear.

Absolutely, same with the initial invasion, many btg's could claim they were just following the group in front... But the aviation assets and missions? Yeah right you don't take off with a random amount of fuel and weapons then recieve a target package in mid flight unless doing close air support... The initial invasion and later bombing missions were briefed before the aircraft were even prepared for that particular mission... Maybe hours, maybe days... They knew as much as most high level commanders what the strategies were.

Thanks for the interview. It seems a lot of people in the comments were a little upset but I think some of his answers probably couldn't be articulated in English well enough to really push on or follow up on more with but we got the gist of it. His English is infinitely better than my Ukranians so I have no complaints lol.

You are doing a great and important service both to your audience and Ukraine Willy! I am sure that your honest and critical interviews help to gather support for Ukraine from thousands of people which feel alienated by the obvious propaganda in mainstream media. We dont need simple narratives to believe that the ukrainians are fighting for a just cause.
A bit of a tough interview due to language translation.

Good video, but it might be better to just let the guy speak native language and translate if you do a future video, we might lose the live interview but we would gain more clarity in the deails of the discussion. I can appreciate how hard it must be for Yellow Tail 29 to have to use a second language then translate in his head and adjust his words back into English bravo for doing this anyway Willy thankyou. Or even better questions already known upfront for YT29

I usto work in the mountains wait the us flew training and Thay would be scraping the tops of the mountains or ripping through the valley Flor in f22s I don't know if flying fighter jets is just in my blood or what but it never gets old for me . Absolute fxcking legend. I would love for you to have this guy back on in a few months the time Willy. I think it’s guests like this that should get a repeat. They have a level of understanding of the war and where it’s going that those on the ground are simply unaware of. We need to start training their pilots on the f16 or whatever it is we decide they should operate. This should have already started. Taking a current fulcrum pilot I think a decent f16 conversion could be done in a little less than a year. Then it will be the issue of the aircraft itself. This fulcrum pilot is talking about modern f16s. That would entail AESA main sensor. I doubt they would get this. But a block 50/52 f-16C I think would be a pretty decent fit.
