For me this is the best of all the solo versions. Having said that, this song is so beautiful that any version, solo, instrumental or choir is beautiful. Impossible not to be beautiful.
Gorgeous! Never heard of this young man--I have now. I usually pay attention to new talent on the Welsh Irish and Scottish side and just heard this young man sing! WOW! He's a beautiful baritone!
Myfanwy is beautiful. Just emailed it to you HG, but it ain’t me singing it. When the welsh choirs would be brought out by our little welsh society in my little city here in Canada I would always ask my dad who was part of that society if he could ask them to sing that song if it wasn’t on their repertoire.
This singer has everything, -the most beautiful timbre and most sensitive phrasing. I was upset to hear he is retiring, since he is the most accomplished baritone in the u.k.
Coincidentally, the man singing here looks very much like one of the four members of Gestalt, in the novel The Rook by Daniel O'Malley; in that novel, the main character is named Myfanwy.
Lyrics : Paham mae dicter, O Myfanwy, Yn llenwi′th lygaid duon di? A'th ruddiau tirion, O Myfanwy, Heb wrido wrth fy ngweled i? Pa le mae′r wên oedd ar dy wefus Fu'n cynnau 'nghariad ffyddlon ffôl? Pa le mae sain dy eiriau melys, Fu′n denu′n nghalon ar dy ol? ** This verse not sung in this video. ** [Pa beth a wneuthum, O Myfanwy I haeddu gwg dy ddwyrudd hardd? Ai chwarae oeddit, O Myfanwy A thanau euraidd serch dy fardd? Wyt eiddo im drwy gywir amod Ai gormod cadw'th air i mi? Ni cheisiaf fyth mo′th law, Myfanwy, Heb gael dy galon gyda hi.] Myfanwy boed yr holl o'th fywyd Dan heulwen ddisglair canol dydd. A boed i rosyn gwridog iechyd I ddawnsio ganmlwydd ar dy rudd. Anghofia′r oll o'th addewidion A wnest i rywun, ′ngeneth ddel, A dyro'th law, Myfanwy dirion I ddim ond dweud y gair "Ffarwél".
Does dim ots pwy sy'n canu'r gân hon bob amser yn dod â dagrau i'm llygad Dwi ddim yn crio fath o ddyn ond i mi fod yn Gymraidd ac mae'r gân bob amser yn fy ngwneud yn ogystal â dim ond 29
As someone who only recently discovered this beautiful song and now play it on the Accordion, I would ask one question. How many verses are there, two or three!? I have heard both versions. Eirber way, this is a beautiful rendition .

This always blows me away especially when I hear you sing it brother 💙😎😥🙏🏴

Fabolous Rhydian, greetings from all at Trallong.
Please also look up Beth Angharad and her soft rendering of this painfully beautiful love song.
Perfection!
So lovely. It speaks to my heart.
