Best thing I did was drop a day of work! Having a day to ride and/or do house things when the kid’s at school takes the pressure off the rest of week so I can spend more quality time with the family - which includes smaller bike rides with the kid!
To avoid all these problems, I often ride in the morning before going to work 😅👍🏿. 1h30 sessions are more than enough to make progress. And during the week, I go out for a long ride very early, so I can enjoy my family afterwards. It's clear that this rhythm isn't easy, but it's a matter of getting used to it.😁
Yeah I probably should have gone for a ride this morning on the hardtail, but I needed to rebuild my Lyriks for the big bike. Had been waiting for the tools to arrive, so they have arrived and the lyriks are back together and on the bike.
Always communicate with the wife, take her out spend time with her make her feel special 1st. Then work on a plan to get some rides in and work out instead of watching tv/or social media. Pray and read your bible every day wake up early and get outside whenever you can and walk/jog.
I spoke to my Wife about a ride on Saturday Morning...She threw coffee over me. I did mention your Wife lets you ride Saturday Mornings ,she shrugged her shoulders ....Any tips ?
I know you mention about 8 hours sleep, with 2 young kids its pretty impossible for me. Interested in your thoughts on how best to train with a lack of sleep. I know advice often is: don't. But sadly its either that or turn into a fat man
@@tommtb4898 this is certainly one of the trickiest things with young kids. My general advice would be to train as normal but to keep an eye on fatigue building up and then stopping or reducing training a bit before you get ill. When you do get a good period of sleep then ramp up When it’s going badly and the kids are up all night then dial it back. Good w
@@wyleecoyotee4252 yeah I know. It’s not about tradition or anything. There’s loads of stuff aimed at women. I just happen to be talking to Dads in this video. Cheers mate 👍🏻
Pilates has been game changing for me.

@@rickchalton yes 100%. My wife and I both work 4 day weeks. It’s a game changer

Yes mate.... If you really want to ride or train you can quickly get used to the early alarm. Great work!

@@TheAsbrooks good job though. There’s always tomorrow!
I jog or ride 5 am sat sun morning before the family wakes up! Evenings may be a night walk for an hour! Bit of free brain time and chill
Love it mate. Do what you can, when you can. I bet it's lovely and calm at that time too.

Sound advice. Cheers mate.

Did you see the bit where I was knelt before her slipper-clad feet on the kitchen floor?

Buy an e-bike for the wife and go togheter
I have a couple of mates who do that.
Busy moms MTB too dude.
Choose an active ambitious woman, get your kids biking too.
Enough of the traditional roles.
