- Come along for a much needed update in our life as we venture into new territory with the RV life. New beginnings, new chapters and blue skies ahead. We appreciate you following along on this crazy rollercoaster ride called life. #rvmaintenance #rvrepairs #rvinspection #rvrenovation #rvcommunity #rvlife #kzdurango #newgenerationrv #kzdurango #newrvs #rvamerica
Welllllllll. What waS the outcome from your others as promised full disclosure?
Have you heard the saying “always look off the front of the ship not the back” time to move forward and leave all the negative stuff behind.
Well - guess you signed the NDA, got your money back and can no longer say anything about GD. Kind of mixed feelings here, but you got what you needed and a different rv. Part of th NDA was to take down all your prior criticisms, I guess.
Hopefully this rig will be the one. Buying an rv is like rolling the dice no matter what name is on the front cap.
It's built by THOR another frame built by Lippert. The same frame as the Grand Design. As an Industry insider, I recommend to never by a Thor product because of Lippert. Good luck with this one as well.
Not true. We have a venture sporttrek, a kz product by Thor as well. We have an NXG frame.
@@sarahloyd4876We have a Connect and it has a BAL frame. Love our KZ!
@@sarahloyd4876 Durango does not use the NXG frame. Your frame is built by BAL which is a subsidiary of Norco Industries. Norco is family owned and is well known for their quality products.Your NXG is far superior to the Lippert.
@@alanhall4226👍👍👍
Surprised by this video but I guess I would take the money and run too. Does the NDA stipulate you have to edit comments like this one?
Congrats to you and your wife, I hope this one doesn't have any issues. Happy glamping.
Happy for you guys!!
Congrats!! I wouldnt have been brave enough to try again.❤🎉
Congratulations 🎉! My very good friend Marc Guido from the UA-cam Channel Grand Adventure has a KZ rv. He absolutely loves his KZ Durango. I'm so happy for you both. Pete and Lisa West are very sweet people. I knew that the first time we met them in Florida.
Greg - Congratulations on your new camper - it looks awesome - what a fantastic layout. And you won't have to keep checking those lag screws :). Thanks for helping Pete and Lisa on their Facebook site and bringing attention to the issues many of us are still dealing with (Mine started beginning of March ... just got it back from repair ... )
Thank you, Mark.
Congrats! Really happy for you!
Thank you so much 😀
Congrats I noticed a center cap cover it missing on the front wheel on the passenger side.
Congrats on the new czmper. I hope it serves you and your wife well. I was looking for one of your videos about the Reflection and couldn't find it. It looks like they did shut you down after all. I'm sure you did what you felt was right for your family.
Please tell us……Does this KZ RV come equipped with the standard “square slide”, complete with 90 degree corners? Just how do they do it? Basic care and competency! Congratulations.
Hope you enjoy we have two Durango golds one in Texas and one in Michigan we are full timing and love our trailer’s
Congratulations brother. Glad everything worked out in the end.
Thank you so much.
Yayyy!!! Happyvto see the smile on your wife's face. I know the unknown and problems had to be weighing on you both. Hopefully, GD will see the error of their ways, and do their builds properly as per specification put forth by Lippert.
Lippert is the big turd in the punchbowl. They are the core of the problem in the industry. Walls, floors, subframes, ceiling cannot be expected to hold tight when joined to a flimsy, flexing, improperly welded frame utilizing improperly alloyed steel and suspension components that have never been properly load tested on the highway by Lippert.....well, those should be easy dots for you to connect. THE FRAME is the foundation of the RV. This is the big lesson everyone needs to be aware of.
Awesome Rig,, I seen 1 rack and pinion under slide,,hopefully kitchen has another,,love that it's aluminum build framing, Please ,Please tell me there's a hitch reciever on back for a Hydalift for the Harley..nice suspension upgrade, I honestly believe everyone should do that no matter what brand..You guys Rock, Congrats, Enjoy your next adventure
Our kz camper is a year old and the frame is rusting away, lippert is coming to get it and taking back to factory, they’re either going to fix it or they are going to replace it, so keep an eye on the frame, we live in Alabama so no salty roads
Sorry to hear that. My son runs a bedliner/undercoating business and I'm planning on having him treat the frame as soon as we take delivery.
I saw you break your NDA on the Legal Channel. Good for you. New subbie here.
Moments ago, I heard your interview on Larry Forman's channel; and am rapidly becoming aware of problems with Grand Design and Lippert. I continue to be perplexed with the whole idea behind a NDA and how it flies in the face of Full Disclosure. An NDA will not allow the larger public, who travel similar paths, to learn from the information (steps, missteps, knowledge, findings) of other people who traveled before them. In searching your channel, "Cruzin,,", I cannot find your first-person videos that you cited on Larry's channel; and I am assuming that you removed those videos; notably, when the tech dropped your fifth-wheel camper, effecting your wife and dogs inside. Please, where can I see those first-person videos?
Love the floor plan concept. But CCC of 2245? KZ does make solid units! Congrats!!
Forgive me but what is CCC of 2245?
That is a brand I seriously considered buying but went with an Arctic Fox. The general complaint I have with all manufacturers is that they put inferior and undersized solar/inverter products. The solar controllers on your new unit are too small for any significant solar package and the inverter is far inferior and small as compared to a Victron inverter.
People are skeptics and mean. I’m happy for you guys and have really enjoyed your videos. ✌️Rubber side down!
I appreciate that very much, and yes, people can be quite nasty.
No... RV people are realistic and want a dependable quality product.
That bathroom door is a pocket door, not a barn door. 😉 (At least that's what it looks like from the angle you showed.) No washer and dryer?
Correct, my mind was going a million miles @ minute. Washer/dryer prep is there in the bedroom.
What seperates this builder with your last one? Are they aware of the flexing frame issues? Congratulations.
Quite a bit actually. Appreciate you being here.
Awesome. About time things turned the corner for you two, keep up the positive outlook
@@davidschmidt5848 thank so much, we're so happy to have forward motion, thank you for being here.
I’m sad to see you lowered your standards and wiped clean all your gd reviews but happy you’ve moved on to a solid product. I wholeheartedly wish you the best on your new rig.
So glad to see that you got out of your Grand Design nightmare and nightmare 2.0
I'd really like you to pass on the help you received to dig out of your GD situation and help throw a lifeline to others that are dealing with their own sinking GD ship. Many others are in the same fight that you were in but they don't have your fighting skills. I'm hoping you stay committed to help win more battles for the little guy.
Nvrmd, I see u deleted 9 months of videos detailing bad frame flex issues. Looks like it's every man for himself.
Another Lippert frame?
Yes, but highly customized for the Durango line. There are no frame issues for Durango.
Yeah, same frame, different name. Good luck with that. Keep it under 100 mph.
Like someone else said, a NDA must have been part of your settlement and you've also taken down your videos on this subject. As long as you're happy . . . . .
damn, just leaving us hanging. GD wins again.
Glad you got out but you did go against what you have been telling everybody following you that they would not shut you down and you would keep all this exposed. So with that being said you are losing confidence amongst a lot of viewers because we cannot believe what you are telling us. You made the appearance you were not standing down at any cost. So kind of surprised on your RV choice for the third time now. Why would you not look at New Horizons and Artic Fox who make their own frames and have no issues with frames?? You have really walked down the same road for frame manufacturer and components.
We did look at Arctic Fox. Durango Gold uses twice the crossmembers in the frame, they use a better outrigger system and every outrigger is lag bolted through the floor, they use a semi custom frame from Lippert that is customized to Durango Golds higher standard, 10" 'I' beams that are stacked onto 2" box tube framing in all high stress areas, the drop frame is an 8" 'I' beam that is stacked on the 10" 'I' beam, there is nothing specifically problematic regarding Durango Gold frames. I haven't 'really' walked down the same road, no. The Durango Gold line by KZ is definitely in a higher class, they're one of few that utilize an all aluminum roof and not a shoddy wood truss system with flimsy gussets, the nose section is made of 6" reinforced box tubing. Yes I did my homework. The KZ Durango Gold is built at a much slower pace than the competitors who rush theirs down the line as quickly as possible.
@CruizinWithTheCarsons Wow. Sounds like a winner on the 10" "I" beam and stacked. New Horizons frames look to be built like tanks and are stacked the full length but wow they are expensive. Their hydraulic systems can actually safely lift the whole RV and tires off the ground with no flex. You know the saying you get what you pay for at least most of the time. I have also heard descent things on DRV.
It wasn't just his choice, and I'm really tired of Greg taking all the heat!! I, ME, the wife just wanted to be DONE!!! We did what was best for US, and not to please everyone else.
@@Kevin-pj7rl New Horizon and DRV are a little better but still junk. Not sure about Arctic Fox other than a true four season rv.
@landahoy5217 Have you seen a New Horizons and how they are built. Wall thickness and frame?? I don't think you know what you are talking about. Also fully custom top to bottom with whatever a customer wants in them right down to the appliances.
Hey where did all your videos go about frame flex and all the trouble you had with your new Reflection you got. What happened?
It's time for us to move forward, the negativity and toxicity of it all needed to end. There are plenty of channels out there covering problems across the board, we are now focusing on leaving the past in the past and moving forward in a positive direction.
Honey Badger says he broke his promise and took all the videos down and has lost the respect.
I am not going to judge him, going against his promise, there was tens of thousands of dollars involved.
They went through absolute chaos.
I’m so thankful that he had the ability to light up UA-cam and get his rightfully deserved attention from the billionaire corporate world.
I hope that you both have a wonderful time with your new rv and I’m sure you both helped by making the company get better for all of the people that don’t have such a powerful platform and influence.
I’ll continue watching your videos
@@edshelichannel opinions are like $$$holes, Honey Badger like everybody has one. Life goes on, either you stay stuck in the trenches or you climb out and start living. I wish everyone had your attitude, they'll just never be able to comprehend the situation until they're in it, it completely changes the dynamics.
@@CruizinWithTheCarsonsabsolutely!! 👍 Always look off the front of the ship …. not the back!! Cheers!!
Please tell me after your past experience, you got an RV inspection before buying
The Xantrex XCPro is a weekend warrior at best. For true heavy use dependability, look to the Victron line of inverters.
I loved my deck on my Forest River Sandpiper and Sierra. They were both mom and pop 40+" with a deck. Built well. Had residential style sliding glass door to the back deck. I would have bought a 3rd one if they didn't discontinue them. I loved the deck without losing the inside with a garage. I hope you enjoy your deck as much as I did mine ❤
So you signed another NDA, another Lippert chassis made with Chinese low carbon steel. KZ is good and they don't use Lippert on their travel trailers, they use BAL chassis which are ten times better than Lippert. Better luck with this one.
Hope no NDA was involved Lol
Good lord. Another Thor product. Good luck, you will need it. Mine was just bought back
👎
I hope you had a independent inspection before you bought it.
Let's hope you're happy now, you seem impossible to please. I hope to have your videos pop up less. Good luck to the manufacturer of this RV. I wouldn't want to sell you one.
Where have you been? Most RVs riding on Lippert frames are a disaster waiting to happen. JUNK. Lippert IS THE PROBLEM. Mr. Carson's misfortune with TWO RVs of a particular manufacturer using Lippert's cheap foreign steel frames is a testament to that fact. Nobody should have to tolerate such an experience in America when spending that kind of $$. Walls, floors, ceilings cannot be expected to hold tight when attached to a flimsy, weak frame with improperly alloyed steel and crap welds! The frame IS THE FOUNDATION of the RV.
I just checked, and it's a subsidiary of Thor. It may be built well, fingers crossed for you, but from how they have handled customer service, I am not sure I could have trusted them a 3rd time after the last 2 disasters. I mean, I judge a company not by their defects, as every company has them, but how they step up and stand by their products and warranty.
Greg and Kay, so exciting! Totally behind you on your decision. The rig is nice. Glad you are able to move forward .I would of done the same. Cheers and to new adventures.
To a road of Happy Memories. Been a long haul for you both and we are looking at Durango also. Heard great things and spoke to the manufacture and how these are built ect after seeing your videos and was asking him lots of structure things. Wishing you and the wife happy memories and to a great season of travailing.
So glad for you guys. It has been a long, flexible road for ya. Hope you have no issues with the gold. Now, move forward with your life and be happy campers. I am looking forward to the yt money to go to great people and causes. Safe journeys. Steve Robinson
Be curious to see if that guy that inspected your GD inspected this one and gave you a report. With what you’ve been thru, money well spent.
Congratulations and Good Luck!
Ok bit what about the quality and fit about this new trailer?
Good luck with the new camper ... I wish you all the best 👊🏻
I was really hoping for a collaboration with Blue Ox inspections. Pierre and Laurel would have torn that rig to pieces.
And one additional thing for the love of God and everything wonderful in this world!!! Please, please, please, if you’re having your rig diagnosed for any particular reason, make sure everyone is out of and clear of the rig in a safety aspect. And get a third party highly recommended third party inspection. They are not all created equal, and yes they are not perfect like most rigs coming out of the factory.
Congrats. Happy for you.both. glad things got squared away with Grand Design.
I guess you figured you were going to take some heat, good luck with the new KZ, we really were watching to see what happened as we bent the frame on our solitude, and just bought a brand new reflection two months ago. We are hoping ours holds together as we starteda 6 month 15 k mile trip two weeks ago. My advice is just let people vent, and don’t respond to the negative comments. Larry
Hi Larry, I don't let the naysayers get to me. If it gets too crazy i just delete them, life's too short for the negativity. Appreciate you being here. Picking up the new Durango Gold 358RPQ tomorrow morning, we're very excited for the new chapter.
While I am extremely happy for you, and I understand you have to do what you do. I truly hope that this unit does work out for you, but you really should have give the Brinkley another look, their quality is far superior to even this unit, yes the Brinkley is more $$$, but you get what you pay for. Again, I send best wishes to you & your wife, and I truly hope it all works out for you. But, in the event that it doesn't, I would definitely look at the Brinkley. After literally doing months & months of research on RV's before our purchase, and went with the Brinkley, and couldn't be happier, the quality is just there. As they say, "buy once, cry once". Again, best wishes on your journey.
Appreciate your comment. We did narrow it down to Brinkley or the Durango Gold. You'll be surprised to know there are things the Durango Gold does on their frames more so than Brinkley does. There were a few other key details that KZ builds into the Durango Gold over Brinkley that sold us. No doubt Brinkley makes a great unit.
Best of luck with the new fifth wheel! I think you were smart to not buy another Grand Design product. Due to all of the problems they are having and the bad PR, I can see unsold units remaining unsold for years. I know I wouldn't even look at a GD product given all the frame failures and other quality control issues......I know Lippert makes all the frames but they are made to the manufacturer's specifications.
Excellent choice congratulations
My wife and I looked that that model. LOVED the layout. HOWEVER, for whatever reason, it did not FEEL quality built. They used great components...but...the quality of the cabinets, some of the fit and finish...made us say no. Did you look at roof, did you look at the plumbing (KZ has an issue with proper fittings in the plumbing which can lead to water leaks). But yea, we REALLY liked the floor plan!
That is one nice looking new rig! As a past owner of a KZ many years ago, I'm big KZ fan. I just hope the THOR and Lippert connection hasn't ruined them like it has so many other former premium brand manufacturers. The big question we all want to know, did you check the LAG bolts on the front? Actually, with slides on both sides of the bedroom, not sure you can check the Lag bolts, but I'm sure you'll find a way 🙂. Glad to see you smiling again and hope the GD nightmare is finally over, even though (understandably) there was a gag agreement.
Still built by Thor………with a Lippert frame, cmon……..should have bought an Artic Fox by Northwood. Just sayin…………
Congratulations🎉wish you all the best. God Bless you, and have Safe and Happy Travels🙏🏼❤️🕊️
Most new RVs present in pristine condition initially. Only time will tell as to how well it holds up. Sad to say that typical problems arise after the short warranty period expires. Hope you have good things to say about this unit after a couple of years.
Congratulations on your new RV. I know you took on some serious risk with breaking your NDA, so I'm not going to make any harsh judgements about taking the other GD videos down. Your point has been made and the RV community has a long memory. My only hope is you did a deep dive inspection on your new rig to make sure you got a good one.
Very happy for you too
Thank you so much, I deeply appreciate it.
Mr Carson you have a great looking fifth wheel and I’m glad you and your wife (Kay) are happy with it. I hope y’all have a lot of fun and safe travels can’t wait until your next video.
Thank you so very much. Glad you're here and appreciate your support. Can't wait to take delivery and begin making more happy memories.
I happy for your results and dont want to be rude because I believe you're a good person . I'm grateful for the info you provided i was inspired by your strong passion I hate to see the videos removed because it was the truth. I compare it those who want to remove Southern 1800's history from our country even if it was wrong it was still what happenedand you learn from the truth and history. I am disappointed.... Im sure there is so much more to the story that just can't be shared.... Which is a real sad .....Sylvester Stallone said it best. Life is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward ....I plan to stay tuned in
I hope you post the vin for your last unit far and wide so folks can stay away from it.
Lession to be learned: Stay FAR away from any RV with a Lippert frame. A weak flexing frame is THE SOURCE of all subsequent problems, e.g., misaligned walls, floors, cabinets, slides, leaking roofs, sagging pinbox, etc.
@@1PacificRedwood lippert makes most of the frames used. Grand design did not properly utilize the frame.
My wife and I love that Durango Gold floorplan. After walking through many brands we feel the KZ product is built well. Time will tell, keep everyone posted.
You had your say - everyone interested had a listen and a look. I agree with your choice to move on - happy trails.
Looked at the specs for this rig and at 36 feet I think you made a smart move. I have a 2017 Heartland Bighorn 35 foot GVRW 15500 and have never seen any signs of frame flex. Honestly I think Space Craft is the only RV builders that can build these 40 plus footer and not have any problems.
Did you consider Brinkley?
Yes, I was more impressed at some key build qualities in the Durango Gold line, over Brinkley.
Let’s see the roof
Glad to hear you were able to get out of the GD nightmare. Sorry you had to go through all that stress and very happy to see that you’re staying in the RV world. You certainly opened a lot of eyes to see what’s going on. Stay safe and enjoy your new fiver
Congratulations on the new rig! I had actually looked at that model too!
We just replaced our frame failure Montana High Country with a Durango 382MBQ. So much better build in general.
Little disappointed you didn't stick to your word on deleting videos. You should have negotiated the wording of the NDA.
We take delivery on Saturday, so excited for new beginnings and forward motion.
Viewers want to poke at these folks cuz they did different than said. So many give crap opinions without having a 100k pile of junk torturing them.
Even the greatest UFC fighters sometimes tap out!
If people were in the same spot and GD said “sign this and we will give your 100k back” everyone would sign it.
People will never understand until it's them in the situation. We're happy to be moving forward and look forward to new adventures. At the end of the day our issues were solved. Thank you for being here.
As a satisfied KZ owner since 2019, I think you made great choice. Good luck 🤞
Honest question here. Why this camper instead of a Brinkley Z3400 or G3250. They both have the rear patios without being toy haulers. Congrats on the new camper. Happy camping!
We looked at the Z2900, the Z3100 and the Z3400. At the end of the day for us what tipped the scale was the way the Durango is constructed over a Brinkley, and we liked the floorplan more of the 358RPQ.
Super happy for you guys, hopefully your problems are behind you,Enjoy
Congratulations. Your new rig looks beautiful. Enjoy the new journey.
I hope you do not have more problems. Lippert stuff all over that trailer. And it is a Lippert Frame.
Congratulations on your purchase hope it works out
2 strikes and you're out! Hello KZ! Hope this one meets your needs. Looking forward to seeing more of the unit in action. Enjoy!
CONGRATS. 🍾🎉🎊. yall had enough hardships in yall life so be happy and ignore haters etc. yall deserve it
Very much appreciate it.
Well, that was good. You seem to have a way of getting to the bottom. Others would be wise to follow your tips
Good luck with your new camper I hope it works well for you guys
Best wishes Greg! Glad you two got a nice rv now. Gotta say im going to miss the popcorn guy. Lol😅
Ummmm, trust me, popcorn man will be back, lots more videos coming.
Congratulations Greg. She’s a beauty! Best of luck with her and safe travels!!! Mark.
Sure would like to know what happened with the Grand Design piece of garbage.
What happened was like most garbage …. it went to the dump!! 😊
Not a bad choice on dealership. I live about 3 miles away and have only heard good things about them.
We knew nothing about them until we were searching for Durango Gold dealers, we were walk-ins and unannounced. Very impressed with Curt, the owner, and Brian our salesman. Very laid back and no pressure whatsoever.
Thank God!!!! Congratulations!!! Love the floor plan!!! K-Z is a great manufacturer. Back in the day my wife and I had a KZ Fontier travel trailer! We loved it! Anyway so glad your HELL on Wheels is over with! Glad your done with "the other brand"!! Hoping K-Z still makes quality! Praying for Happy Times for you and your wife!!
Thank you. We're looking forward to blue skies and making memories.
KZ great decision,, we have the 391 and love it,,, KZ has always taken care of any issues we have had,, The best,, would love to show you some of the mods we have done to ours to make it more comfortable,,, Mike & Denise
Would love to see your mods. Are you guys members of the KZ facebook page?
We bought from that dealership in 2020
Glad you got away from GD brother. Prayers up, two down.
Congratulations, it looks like a lovely RV. Glad everything worked out for y’all. Does the new RV have washer/dryer connectivity in the closet?
It does, yes. Thank you for being here.
Love the videos! That is a very nice rv! Love the toy hauler ramp. Nice that that you can have a ramp without a big camper. Like the colors. Love the living room. Nice bathroom. Like the XL vet fan. Nice huge bedroom. That is the biggest I have seen. Hope thing go better for you now. Have a great day!
Thanks 👍
Hopefully not a Lipert frame🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☦️
Woo hoo!! Congratulations, Greg and Kay!!! She’s a beauty!
Good to see you bought anything but a Grans Design.
You didn’t mention the dish washer!!! We walked through this in Tampa and still consider it for if we get sick of dual deck life.
I realized that after we took footage, when we take delivery I'll be making a video of the dealership and us taking delivery.
@@CruizinWithTheCarsons heck yes. You guys are getting an amazing looking setup. Our decks are our lives in nice weather. Can’t wait to see more of it!
