Love it!!! I fixed a discolored concrete job I did in December of last year about 2 months ago. The only thing to fix the discoloration was to stain it. The customers were so happy to see an even lookng concrete patio. Great job Odell
I had a concrete job done at my house but was destroyed due to bad cureing because of the weather in December all my concrete cured with bad gray spots I can't stand it I will definitely get this fixed either I will do it or hire someone.....
That’s a good color for concrete. Doesn’t absorb the sun too much and gives good light to eye not overwhelming when the sun is beating on it. Good choice
Noticed the wood edging looks like it stands a little proud of the floor. In my mind that would be a tripping hazard. Great job. My company has done several of these and I still enjoy watching others techniques.
I love your work, but it would be helpful if u include links or names of the products U actually use. Several persons asked you about the name and color of the paint, there was no clear answer. Your response: Behr deck over, exposy paint... Is that the name of the color?
I like the look of the pressure treated lumber in between each slab. Very nice! Only thing I would have a problem with is water getting into the grooves. Great job on the video too.
that detail of PT lumber embedded in the slab joints IMO is very problematic. I see nothing but maintenance/replacement of this detail. No thanks. I would have eliminated this.
Good for southern slab. My exterior northern Maine slab that ends up under snow and ice snowblowed by my John Deere this would be a mess by next summer. Right it’s all discolored wish I had a permanent remedy to stain it to last forever. Once done and look good and stay that way.
If you were to pressure wash the patio again after it was painted, would the paint chip off? The reason im asking is i have 2 big dogs that get muddy paw prints all over my patio. I want to paint it even, but I know im still going to have to pressure wash it 3 or 4 times a year.
4/14/2024 - I have a patio similar in size. (1) How many man hours did you take to complete the job? (2) How much material in terms of gallons or cost? Thank you from Salem, Oregon.
What product did you use for this? We recently got our foundation repaired and we have 5 ugly concrete patches on our back porch that I want to paint over. This looks great!!
Great video. About the patchwork you did. Are you supposed to wait 30 days for any patchwork to cure before you use the DeckOver product? If not what product did you use? I have some small patchwork I need to do before I use DeckOver.
@KelMaster Construction drop regular paint on your concrete. Its a bitch to get out. The color he put on will last for a very long time. Cement absorbs like a mother
i just need a little bit of paint. thanks! i got this really small section of concrete that came with the house. i built a patio thats gray concrete. grill area is gray concrete. and there;s just this 1 random block of concrete that throws it all off... gotta fix it! thanks again
I'm about to embark on this project on my own backyard, thanks a lot for the tutorial - question though, how do I order the best paint for backyard concrete in homedepot or lowes. just ask them for that type of paint specifically?
Wow, without even looking at the comments I said to myself, "California: either Huntington Beach, or Fountain Valley". I nailed it. But, more importantly, great video. It's a very DIY project. Thanks, guys.
We have a 40 yr. old patio that is a bit over half that size. No grinding necessary. How much would a job cost approx.? INcluding pressure washing and two coats, product, etc.... Just want an idea. For Florida. BTW, any special considerations for Fl. heat?
Nice video and very informative. I noticed you just dip the roller in the five gallon bucket and I have also used a tray. Is using the dip method better and do you get a good spread with that way ? Thanks
Painters got drops of paint all over my carport. Do you think pressure washing would remove it? The house was built in 1955 and when the temperature changes the surface gets wet and slick as glass. I hesitate to paint it because of the moisture problem, guess there wasn’t a moisture barrier put down when they poured the carport cement.
have you ever tried one of those bowl/discs to attach to power washer used to clean concrete driveway? I thought that there was no way it worked as well as getting tip close to concrete but it does and makes job way faster
I’m not sure if anyone has asked this but the wood gaps between the concrete, is that similar to the gap made to prevent the concrete from cracking? Or was that a design

Amazing tutorial. Short, sweet and to the point.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice looking work and love the way you take time to fix the problem areas.
Thanks 👍
I did this on my rental property. I was skeptic thinking the paint will chip and would not last but 15 years since, it is still looking good.
The stuff holds ip well. The key is preparation
@@OdellCompleteConcrete What kind of paint is it? I didn't catch it on the video

Can you still add a sealer over top of it to protect against oil and grease?
I brought my wife in for a look. She is looking for a way to jazz up our patio. This may be it.
Try it, its all in the preparation. For beginners just use a solid stain
Its a nice inexpensive way to spruce thing up.

What is in the relief cuts ? Looks like a wooden strip or something between the concrete pieces
Yes, redwood
What’s the name of a Behr color that matches the best for concrete color for staining a Driveway???
You should really get one of those surface pressure washer attachments. It’s make the cleaning process quick and easy.
Sounds good
customer took something that's pretty much maintenance free and made it need maintenance ... but you did a nice job as usual!
@KelMaster Construction its not paint, its a stain
everything requires maintenance if you want it to look good
@KelMaster Construction pretty sure this is california so yes the UV rays will destroy that in about 2 summers

Would you recommend acid staining to painting?
Depends on what the condition of the concrete is in and the desired results

Yes and faster

Probably both

Whenever you want
Colour sealant works well too!
awesome
Cannot find the type of paint used..
DECK OVER?
. just know its thick and has a med. Rough surface.. please post the product link if possible...
Behr deckover
Can I apply the sealer to the paint?
Sure
Might be a good idea to add a good oil based stain to the wood to help protect it from rotting out and it would give it some pop
That sure wouldn't hurt
Is this good to use on the driveway ?? Resistant to heavy vehicles and tires ?
Not according to the manufacture
What color is that it looks great
Gray
How does this hold up to the patio chairs being pulled in and out and about? Any chance of a follow up to check? Thanks!
I did another one 6 years ago and it still looks good
have you ever tried one of those bowl/discs to attach to power washer used to clean concrete driveway? I thought that there was no way it worked as well as getting tip close to concrete but it does and makes job way faster
NO but I think I'll need more psi from the machine for that to be effective
@@OdellCompleteConcrete I was just using a 2300psi gas from Lowes with it and it worked pretty well
Is the paint being used mentioned at all in the video? I missed it.
Behr deckover
No need for primer? Just paint? If there was old paint there, would you strip it first? Or paint right over the old paint?
depends how good the old paint is holding up
Those huaraches at the end tho!
Nice right
@@OdellCompleteConcrete i got 2 pairs of those tire tread has lasted forever on them lol

The wood separations do both, crack control and decorative

Probably not
