The Man With no life Personally I thought he was a very solid wrestler for the mid card who had the potential for main event without all the backstage politics. I mean everybody has botches & some of the wrestlers he went against weren't used to his style to be fair here. But from what you said, if he was dull how come guys like Ultimate Warrior or Hogan who were dull both huge stars? At that time a character meant everything, which Konnan had an unique character (which was relatable for me as a kid from that background). You can be a dull wrestler in the ring but having an over the top character went further than a "great worker with no character" during that period.
I’m Mexican , and I can tell I that I grew up watching lucha libre in Mexico, and until this day, anyone who is foreign is a bad guy. How many American guys have been AAA or CMLL have been world champions have been white........

I think Disco is just one of those people who needs to respond or counter in the moment instead of waiting for the person to finish speaking. It's hard to listen to someone speak for a minute or two and then remember everything they said much less respond to every points they made.

If you look at their champions 4 are black 1 is Russian the other is Hispanic and the vacant belt a Hispanic and Brazilian are fighting for the belt. In the women’s division 1 is polish 2 are Brazilian 1 is white. I do agree that wrestling has become more about entertainment rather than in ring work and character development only a handful of superstars actually have a character or a gimmick and all of their promos are bland and generic.

He likes a talent who has all three things you need to succeed in wrestling. Awesome look, great mic skills, and ability to work relentlessly without getting injured ( and the work doesn't have to be Bret Hart or Shawn Michael's level work). Many say Hulk can't wrestle maybe that's true, but Hulk had phoenomenal phsycology , didn't blow up to quick, and was able to work for years on end without missing loads of time due to injury. The look is also important Vince likes a good build , but also someone who can attract attention from the Woman. Also he needs someone with a look that stands out. Originality helps, but I wouldn't say Hogan was an original look, but the shirt the bandana was kind of his own thing. Then mic skills which it seems like most wrestlers today lack. The Charisma the ability to be able to speak without a script. Vince has pushed the shit out of Roman Reigns also who is not white. Samoans have had a lot of success in WWF, and some guys like Snuka (not even sure if he's Samoan) didn't need belts back before we had 100 belts some guys just drew huge money and never needed it. Vince plays off relaity. In reality whites, blacks, and Latinos have stereotypes and many if them are true. Theirs been countless Hicks, rednecks, and white guys who look like slobs. For blacks we've had guys who look like Zulus, gansters, black panther types, etc. Wrestling is a play on reality. It was always a sport for the lower middle class/ working class type so you see characters who reflect that at times. Sometimes they want exotic characters , and many tests for white people that means being Russian, and for blacks that means being a tribal Zulu type (sorry that their aren't any white people still hunting with Spears on a regular basis which is why no white guys ever play that role).
Becky was overlooked for the longest and if it wasn’t for her getting herself over and creating a new gimmick it likely would of been Charlotte Rousey for the belt with no Becky. Vince has a type he likes athletic blondes to be exact that’s why Lacey Evans who has had only 1 main roster singles match is getting a shot at the title over asuka, Ruby, moon, Sasha, bayley etc workers who are leagues ahead of her. He also loves his own home grown talent and bigger guys like Braun, Roman, Mahal, Corbin, etc.
Their is a simple answer to Konnans questions that have nothing to do with racism. Now Vince does have a lot of input in who become champion, however wrestling is simple. Whoever draws the best and sells the most merch for the company, and whoever can make Vince the most will become champion. WWF is a national company but it's based In the USA and I'd say the majority of it's fanbase is white. Even if all 13% of the African American population watched and loved wrestling their would still probably be more white WWF fans. This may be hard to hear in the PC generation but most people like people they can relate tp, and most fans relate best to someone similar to them. Konnan Relates best to Latino guys which is why he wants to see more Latino champs, black people wanna see black champions. It's not always the case and their are characters who transcend race, and are loved by all. Black wrestling fans loved Ric Flair they felt they could relate to him, or at least wanted to be like him. Vince ce just tried for how long to shove Roman Reigns down their throats and he wasn't a white guy. So that kind of proves Vince can decide, but the fans really truly decide. Throughout all the years Kofi Kingston is the second African American to ever hold that championship & like I said before not trying to come off as a broken record but I'm proud of that & would love for Big E to get a chance at the prize as well. I think it has more to do with the WWE mindset of making characters and not presenting it self as a sports product. I think this is why they fall into sterotypes. Eddie was the greatest ever, no way vince was gonna be able to keep him down. Rey and Alberto were mainevent talents and champions. Perdo Morales was world champion in his era. Seth Rollins is Hispanic, no one talks about that. Sin Cara was meant to be book for the stars but it didnt work out. I think Carlito was gonna pushed right but it didnt work out. alot of the other luchadores are given crapy gimmicks. But in fairness Bray has a CRAP gimmick right now, and the New Day has always been a CRAP gimmick but they made it work. I stopped watching WWE after Damian Priest lost his belt to Fin Balor. I knew that moment will come because latinos don't really get the respect they deserve to be in the WWE that's why they leave. Look what they did to Lucha House Party, they seemed more like clowns wearing masks, that was very sad to see. Noway Jose was doing so well in NXT, but as soon as he was moved to RAW and Smackdown he was used as a ragdoll for white wrestlers eve. The new white wrestler that had a shit intro and character among other white wrestlers who have better. As I'm Puerto Rican I was upset how the tag team that was treated like scanners that were Puerto Rican, the one named Primo and the other I forgot his name. I was happy to see Damian Priest, not just because he's Puerto Rican, it's because he is from Bronx, NY as I am. All of a sudden when he comes out he stats don't say Bronx, NY, it says New York City. I stopped playing the WWE games as well. When I want to pick Bronx, NY it.just says Yonkers. All games says New York, NY, Queen, NY, Staten Island, NY, Brooklyn, NY never Bronx, NY. Bronx, NY has a high popular of Latino's and we can't even represent where we are from. What I've noticed is that, the WWE gives Latino's the shit story and intro, while whites get the better intro and story. Back in 2021, my friend who's mixed of Puerto Rican/ Dominican tries out for Tough Enough and got a NO!, The day he went for a try out as he did everything that was asked.

I don't see what everyones complaining about, Disco has some good points. You aren't gonna get strong upper or mid carders regardless of of skin color, especially with how inflated with talent the roster is at the moment.
Disco's overall point is fine, it's just that it's not actually addressing the point being raised at the start of the discussion, so we never get any resolution to that, and he gives a perfectly good answer to a different question to the one being asked. The booking of Eddie Guerrero was, in fact, not fine. It was a two-dimensional racist stereotype, the "I lie, I cheat, I steal" stuff - but Eddie was such a great performer he rose above that and made it something far more than that. The cringeworthy stereotype gimmicks are much more readily applied to minorities, and those gimmicks are harder to break above the glass ceiling with. How much rehabbing had to be done to Mark Henry to get rid of the "Sexual Chocolate" stigma? I got the feeling that from early on Disco thought that this was just an "SJW looking for a reason to be offended" question, and therefore was looking to shut the conversation down, while Konnan and Joe see the stereotypical and often insulting treatment of Latino wrestlers as a legit reason for concern and tried to address this point while Disco was simultaneously trying to cut it off at the pass.

Hell, I'm a latino kid from SoCal and it still doesn't bother me. Not to mention that some of those gimmicks got over, I loved those from Cena's Vanilla Ice shtick to Eddie's lie, cheat, steal mantra. They were entertaining and thats all that really matters.

There's nothing wrong with Disco's argument at all - I don't really disagree with him. The problem with him here is not the point that he makes, but that because he's decided that it's not a valid question because his interpretation is that the asker is just looking for a reason to take offence, he shuts down Joe and Konnan, who think it's more legit a worthwhile question to ask, from raising their points, and I'd be interested to hear what their points on that are; Disco constantly talking them down and interrupting them prevented that.

He likes a talent who has all three things you need to succeed in wrestling. Awesome look, great mic skills, and ability to work relentlessly without getting injured ( and the work doesn't have to be Bret Hart or Shawn Michael's level work). Many say Hulk can't wrestle maybe that's true, but Hulk had phoenomenal phsycology , didn't blow up to quick, and was able to work for years on end without missing loads of time due to injury.
The look is also important Vince likes a good build , but also someone who can attract attention from the Woman. Also he needs someone with a look that stands out. Originality helps, but I wouldn't say Hogan was an original look, but the shirt the bandana was kind of his own thing.
Then mic skills which it seems like most wrestlers today lack. The Charisma the ability to be able to speak without a script.
Vince has pushed the shit out of Roman Reigns also who is not white. Samoans have had a lot of success in WWF, and some guys like Snuka (not even sure if he's Samoan) didn't need belts back before we had 100 belts some guys just drew huge money and never needed it.
Vince plays off relaity. In reality whites, blacks, and Latinos have stereotypes and many if them are true. Theirs been countless Hicks, rednecks, and white guys who look like slobs. For blacks we've had guys who look like Zulus, gansters, black panther types, etc. Wrestling is a play on reality. It was always a sport for the lower middle class/ working class type so you see characters who reflect that at times. Sometimes they want exotic characters , and many tests for white people that means being Russian, and for blacks that means being a tribal Zulu type (sorry that their aren't any white people still hunting with Spears on a regular basis which is why no white guys ever play that role).

Becky was overlooked for the longest and if it wasn’t for her getting herself over and creating a new gimmick it likely would of been Charlotte Rousey for the belt with no Becky. Vince has a type he likes athletic blondes to be exact that’s why Lacey Evans who has had only 1 main roster singles match is getting a shot at the title over asuka, Ruby, moon, Sasha, bayley etc workers who are leagues ahead of her. Their is a simple answer to Konnans questions that have nothing to do with racism. Now Vince does have a lot of input in who become champion, however wrestling is simple. Whoever draws the best and sells the most merch for the company, and whoever can make Vince the most will become champion.
WWF is a national company but it's based In the USA and I'd say the majority of it's fanbase is white. Even if all 13% of the African American population watched and loved wrestling their would still probably be more white WWF fans. This may be hard to hear in the PC generation but most people like people they can relate tp, and most fans relate best to someone similar to them. Konnan Relates best to Latino guys which is why he wants to see more Latino champs, black people wanna see black champions. It's not always the case and their are characters who transcend race, and are loved by all. Black wrestling fans loved Ric Flair they felt they could relate to him, or at least wanted to be like him. Many white fans felt the same way about the Rock.
It's simple fans decide who will become champion. Vince ce just tried for how long to shove Roman Reigns down their throats and he wasn't a white guy. So that kind of proves Vince can decide, but the fans really truly decide.

I think it has more to do with the WWE mindset of making characters and not presenting it self as a sports product. I think this is why they fall into sterotypes. Eddie was the greatest ever, no way vince was gonna be able to keep him down. Rey and Alberto were mainevent talents and champions. Perdo Morales was world champion in his era. Seth Rollins is Hispanic, no one talks about that. Sin Cara was meant to be book for the stars but it didnt work out. I think Carlito was gonna pushed right but it didnt work out. alot of the other luchadores are given crapy gimmicks. But in fairness Bray has a CRAP gimmick right now, and the New Day has always been a CRAP gimmick but they made it work. I stopped watching WWE after Damian Priest lost his belt to Fin Balor. I knew that moment will come because latinos don't really get the respect they deserve to be in the WWE that's why they leave. Bronx, NY has a high popular of Latino's and we can't even represent where we are from. What I've noticed is that, the WWE gives Latino's the shit story and intro, while whites get the better intro and story. I don't see what everyones complaining about, Disco has some good points. You aren't gonna get strong upper or mid carders regardless of of skin color, especially with how inflated with talent the roster is at the moment.
Disco's overall point is fine, it's just that it's not actually addressing the point being raised at the start of the discussion, so we never get any resolution to that, and he gives a perfectly good answer to a different question to the one being asked. The booking of Eddie Guerrero was, in fact, not fine. It was a two-dimensional racist stereotype, the "I lie, I cheat, I steal" stuff - but Eddie was such a great performer he rose above that and made it something far more than that. The cringeworthy stereotype gimmicks are much more readily applied to minorities, and those gimmicks are harder to break above the glass ceiling with. How much rehabbing had to be done to Mark Henry to get rid of the "Sexual Chocolate" stigma?
I got the feeling that from early on Disco thought that this was just an "SJW looking for a reason to be offended" question, and therefore was looking to shut the conversation down, while Konnan and Joe see the stereotypical and often insulting treatment of Latino wrestlers as a legit reason for concern and tried to address this point while Disco was simultaneously trying to cut it off at the pass.

Hell, I'm a latino kid from SoCal and it still doesn't bother me. Not to mention that some of those gimmicks got over, I loved those from Cena's Vanilla Ice shtick to Eddie's lie, cheat, steal mantra. They were entertaining and thats all that really matters.

There's nothing wrong with Disco's argument at all - I don't really disagree with him. The problem with him here is not the point that he makes, but that because he's decided that it's not a valid question because his interpretation is that the asker is just looking for a reason to take offence, he shuts down Joe and Konnan, who think it's more legit a worthwhile question to ask, from raising their points, and I'd be interested to hear what their points on that are; Disco constantly talking them down and interrupting them prevented that.
