- Lexus unveiled the all-new GX during its world premiere in Austin, Texas, USA. The vehicle is set to be gradually released in different regions, starting from the end of 2023.
The Overtrail Project is embodied in the new "OVERTRAIL" grade, which is equipped with functions and design features that are required in even harsher environments.

This thing is going to be a huge hit for Lexus. It is their Defender, G-Wagen with a hint of old Land Crusier all rolled into one. Absolutely Brilliant.
Been waiting years to buy a new car. This one will be it.
And this one will actually be reliable when compared to the Defender and G-Wagon.

I'm buying the Overtrail when this comes out. Been researching and trying to figure out what my next family off-road/camping vehicle was going to be. Then Lexus drops this bomb on us, I can't wait.
Same here. Nothing really fit the bill until I saw this. Was mildy considering current GX, but it's too ugly.

I do like the industrial design. I wish the size was closer to the GX460/470 than the LX570. Where does the GX550 fit in with the LX600 in terms of place in the market since they are similar in size? It is probably a stretch to ask for a naturally aspirated V8 or diesel.

because previous model has V8 , big engine that's why to keep the tradition they added V6 Twin Turbo here , 4runner will come with Single turbo V4 such as new Tacoma .
all I need in 4runner is to comes with low price tag with better approach and departure angles along with good fuel millage .

If this comes in at under 100K, it will kill Defender and Ineos Grenadier sales.
Might opt for this instead of the cx-90. The seats look like they would be hard on the rump. Will check it out when its released.

I do love that V6 Twin Turbo, same pedigree as the V6 twin Turbo that won the Dakar Rally in a Hilux!
One feature I wish Lexus keeps is the split tailgate from LX 570. An off-road SUV without split tailgate is not complete.
Since this is the GX they changed from the left side open door feature....many disliked. Some loved the features for Overlanding and the usability of the tailgate hinged on the righthand side. This also allowed a ladder to the roof to remain in place when opening door.

Interior is a bit underwhelming for what it’s going to cost but man I still wants.
I think this is the best SUV in the market. I like that it is only a 5 seater. The third row seats are virtually useless. You are paying for 3rd row seat which you may never use.

Awesome vehicle, but probably too expensive for overlanding especially when the car will take bad beatings. For family camping it looks awesome.
I drove my TRD pro 4runner straight from the lot to moab, hells revenge. I would do the same with this. The broken fenders and running boards arent going to be any more expensive than any other vehicle. I think this will get a ton of "overlanders" who are sick of waiting for a new 4runner

as big the piston size is , as bad in fuel , if they decrease the piston size with turbo then u may get better MPG, this would be like BMW , this can blow anytime , that's why poor fuel economy , i believe due to heavy engine and transmission they are keeping this way , possible companies find better tunings to increase better millage in the future , such as activation of one turbo when on highway etc. , this vehicle will stay more then 10 years that's why they design like this , reliable ,but honestly 17MPG is poor .

@@sapsap100 the hybrid in this engine is not traditional hybrid , its hybrid assist which help to boost engine performance not MPG .17MPG is not a good number at all , Toyota must try hard to invent something better , PHEV not possible because of no space for bigger battery if they choose to , will see .

Think the engine is underpowered for this - probably opt for the v8 RR L460
off- road needs better approach and departure angles , this one is poor , they must add as 4runner has it 33 approach and 26 departure

Lexus makes reliable vehicles in general, but their color palate leaves much to desire and they often incorporate a head-scratching design element to their vehicles that has you asking, what were they thinking. I have been driving Lexus GX and LX SUV's since 2003. The best version of the GX, was the first edition, without question. Subsequent updates and remodels, incorporated tweaks in the engine to improve EPA mileage, which also reduced acceleration at low RPMs and cost saving interior design elements, removing much of the handsome real wood accents and introducing the worst ergonomically designed 2nd row seats in any vehicle sold in the USA in the 2009 update. Other manufactures are hard pressed to compete or beat the sound quality of the Mark Levinson Sound system, which is fabulous. Never the highest tech vehicles on the road, but so very dependable has been theLexus selling point.
Sadly, I can only watch the video and visit a showroom. That's it. This will be way to expensive. I can't even think on a lease amount for 3 years, 0 down.

Why do these manufacturers think adding more electronics and sensors in an off road vehicle is ideal? Better hope no water creeps into areas it shouldn't. I HIGHLY doubt you'd be able to fix it yourself. Then again this vehicle is most likely going to be purchase by men that don't even change their own oil on their vehicles 😂.
