Yes please help her.......good eye. Yes your instincts are spot on. I am so glad the baby is alive.
I'm glad that u watch your cows like u do.
Glad the baby is doing well.
Great video. Most people don’t realize the love and compassion we have for our animals. They are not just around for us to eat!
I'm sorry, love and compassion? That heifer is still a baby herself. Far too young to be bred but she has to start earning her keep right? All she is, is a commodity. No love OR compassion there, as far as I can see.
@@theplantbasedsaffer6235 you aren’t looking very hard then!
Nada más nacer hay que limpiar la nariz y la boca como a cualquier animal o persona, ta que tienen la porquería de la placenta , se podía haber asfixiado sin hacerle nada , pregunta al veterinario.

Today we saw that farming is both physically and mentally draining. Well done Tyler.
My father used to say to me "You hope for the best but where you have livestock you will have dead stock" that's just the way it is.
Just subscribed and greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 Brilliant save by the way you had a minimum window to revive the calf hope all is good now 😀👍
That is a miracle calf.
Please keep us posted. I was cheering him on.
You're so self aware and compassionate ❤
thank god you were able to save that calf
Wow, this vid should be a tutorial on Animal Husbandry 101, 201 and 301. It was PACKED with problems, recognition, decision making, etc...all kinds of curveballs thrown at you......and frankly, you made a homerun derby out of it. Hope it all turned out well, but even if it didnt, some things are what they are. The fact that calf and momma were both alive is the result of your efforts. There is no question about that. Just seeing this one video cancels out all the millennial youtube “homesteaders” who keep their vet on speed dial for when their chicken doesnt lay the exact same number of eggs every day. So so refreshing to see real content and not stupid, over-hyped, over-dramatized nonsense from people who clearly have no clue of anything they think they are doing. Awesome video, in all aspects.
Man I really appreciate that thank you!!

Prof Tyler -
you the man Brotha!!!
I would have gotten her up faster…
And you are correct on avoiding her by turning shoulder!!!
Another thing is you could have gone to get a bottle of colostrum from premix to get the calf some calories into his belly and give mamma a break so her body can begin to repair itself after that trauma of breach birth.
Thanks for taking the time to video this
Well done, Tyler. You manage to stay cool under pressure AND film it all. Hope they both recover well.
Hi farmer Tyler. What a special video. You came to help the calf right on time. To see this cow giving birth with your help and the calf survived. This is very special. Blessings to you
Having multiple irons in the fire sometimes really sucks!!! Proud to see a young guy with so much knowledge and such a cool head. How much of that knowledge came from Grandad? Good job. P. S. Over my 73 years, I've learned that there is one thing that helps me most in those situation. Prayer.
AMEN!
Please let us know if this calf survived????
Hope your little calf pulls through. You have done your best to help. Thanks.
That was so cool to watch, the calf being alive and all!! You must feel incredible after helping with something like this! I hope the little guy comes good soon. Thank you so much for sharing this with us ❤👍🇦🇺
Good job sir, you are a talented farmer, gotta be tough working the farm and working an outside job, hope you keep us informed as to the calfs health.
You care about these animals and it’s so clear
Good job Farmer Tyler. Don't be too hard on yourself. You have exhibited a lot of wisdom. I learn a lot from you. Good day!
Great job my friend!
👍🏻🤞🏼🙏🏼🫡🚜
Good job, Tyler. Waiting and seeing is hard, but nature takes its course. Rooting for you!
Pulled calves twice, (lucky I guess?) once using a fence stretcher because 2 people couldn't extract the calf. The chain messed up that calf's front ankles for about 3 weeks. Hand milking and bottle fed for 2 weeks. Really intense times for a farmer until nursing gets back to normal. You show how much you care about your critters. Well done!
Hello to Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too.
Always a concern when you don't see two hooves down with a nose. Mom was clearly exhausted and all that a prolonged labor entails. I've dealt with your same issues of intervention, never easy to walk away and observe. Having a full time job and being a full time farmer/rancher will always throw you into these situations. Your video was a great representation for those who have never been in your shoes, it really defines the shoulda, kuda, wooda thoughts that these situations cause.
Wow, who else on here can say they get home from work to help a cow birth a calf❤❤!!
This was a great video. I know that was not planned but one of the best.
Grandpa taught you well.
Hope its a good out come
Amazing video, you did a great job. Hope the little guy makes it. Can't wait for the update 🙂
Great job Tyler, again this shows the care you have for your herd, including the newborns. I’m sure you can get at least one more video out of this mama and baby. Take care and have a blessed week my friend.
Good save! I hope that you find him moving on his own in the morning.
Trying to balance work and farm can sometimes be overwhelming as my husband can attest to. You did the best you can and now it's up to the calf, exellent video as always. Thank you for being such a great mentor to those seeking to learn!
Wow Tyler, such an emotional video. This old fella's eyes are stinging like crazy, only just stopped short of bawling my eyes out. Looking away is just what I've seen people working with horses do too. Much respect pal.
Gosh Tyler, a real heart wrencher! You did a great job, and I'm proud of your first time heifer! Im hoping the calf's pelvis is just sore, and that it will be up nursing tomorrow. Thank you for sharing this💙
You are a very caring man!! Thank you so much for thinking about their feelings!! Some cattlemen forget it is a life with feelings! Total respect!!! I really wish there could lots more like you and your compassion!! Kudos!!
Good job Tyler.
Farmer Tyler...You are amazing ! You really helped this Momma and baby. We should call you the cow whisperer. I pray this baby survives. Please let us know if he makes it and if he drinks his colostrum and nurses on his Momma. Thank you for sharing this fantastic video !!!!! :)
What a cliffhanger! I sure hope he makes it. You’re the greatest, Farmer Tyler.
I was as shocked as you were that the calf was alive. Good pull. At the least, you saved the heifer. Time will tell on the calf.
Hope that baby get's up soon. It's great he was still alive! We had to pull a 101 lb calf out of a heifer this year and that was a doozy. Mama had some nerve damage for a couple days and although she was determined and kept trying she couldn't actually stand until about 24 hrs or so later. Her legs just wouldn't cooperate with her. We had to bottle feed two feedings but once she finally stood, my husband had her lean on him so baby could nurse without getting crushed. She's one determined mama and is doing well along with her baby who we appropriately named Tiny. We love your channel by the way. Especially my youngest.
Tyler, that was beautiful seeing you save that calf. Thanks for letting us watch. I have never seen a breech birth. Really you saved the mom and calf. I am so glad that you knew what to do. You are a hero!!!
Cliff hanger, now we have to wait for the next video! Crossing my fingers, hope he made it ok 👌❤️
Good job Tyler, waiting is the hardest part.
Beautiful calf that brings back memories, I was a herdswoman for 10 years I've lost count on how many calves I've bought in to this world, we didn't use chanes we had calving ropes softer on the skin,
Maby the calves abit stressed or shocked he was bought into the world in abit of a hurry keep us informed please........ Anita from Kent UK 🇬🇧
Thanks for helping save the calf , you made it happen , stay safe ! Bob
Hopefully all turns out well tomorrow and he’s standing and nursing
Great Care Taker for those sweet animals. Thanks For Sharing , i hope they all be ok. Stay Safe and continue the your content.
CAN YOU PLEASE UPDATE US ON THIS CALF?? I GOTTA KNOW HOW IT DID IN THE MORNING!!!!!!????
Soon!
@@farmertylerranch4399 HURRY! lol

@@farmertylerranch4399 can i just say how much i LOVE your channel!! Soooo love the outside country farm scenes..so peaceful.. I am getting csught up starting from the very beginning!! Thanks for sharing your passion for country life and work!!! God bless!!
Is it soon yet?
Greg video. Praying all works out. My husband and I pulled a twin calf ion our 3rd date 26 years ago. We lucked out our 77lb baby bull survived along with his twin sister. Keeping you and family in prayers.
Well done my friend! You're a heck of a herdsman.
Thank you Chris!
Great video. Prayers for recovery of baby calf.
Challenges never end but as you said "Got to keep a cool head and stay focused on what you have to do. "
I honestly thought she was paralyzed. But she stood up just fine.
Nice work 👍 Fingers crossed he gets his legs working 🤞
Good morning from Grand Forks
It was so awesome to see the calf was alive and understandable to watch you be like “oh shit!” And panic a little and get attached to getting this calf to survive and its really awesome too because it shows how much you care about your animals
Great job being a midwife! You are so respectful to the animals and she knew you were going to help her. It was sad to see the calf not getting up and nursing, I hope he will be ok in the morning. Could it be that he dislocated his hip during the birth? You did a great job out there. I don't know how you do it with a full time job and the farm. Respect! :)
It was breech (backwards) and they often drown in their fluid. My neighbor had a breech calf die during delivery. She tried so hard to revive it, hung it by it's legs to try to get the fluid out of its lungs, even did mouth to mouth/CPR but the poor thing still died.
WOW ... One of your best videos! This shows your dedication and love for your animals. Please don't make us wait a week to tell us about the calf. Thanks.
You da man Tyler, good job as always!
Dude, don't leave us hanging like that.
Great channel
Haha sorry! Update soon
Brilliant video. On the spot reactions. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 that the calf survives and Mama is ok too. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🥀🌷🌷🥀💕💓
Ah thanks for showing that, hope baby will be ok 🤞💞
Excellent video this week. Very impressive camera work. I always struggle to get decent footage in similar situations. Hope mammy and baby are doing well. Keep up the great work, Richard 👍
Ohhhh! You tease!!!
I have a feeling the baby didn't make it :(. Please give us an update.
Hat's off to you my friend. I understand what it is like to work a full time job plus and try to calve out critters. You have a great attitude considering.
All the best
Have a Great day
Thank you for all you do! I hope the little guy made it and all is well. Blessings to you and your family home and live stock. 🇺🇸❤️
I sure that baby was able to get up and nurse his mom, he sure struggled at first but you got him breathing in his own and he was a fighter. So I pray he made it through the night and was doing better that morning. You left us in suspense on that one Tyler. But I look forward to your videos every week
Wish could see more but understand hope you work and family time it’s hard I suppose. But you are amazing to run that big farm alone and do what you do.
Thank you for your work and for taking such good care of your animals. Farming is very difficult work but I'm sure it's very rewarding. You do know what to do. Follow what your experience, your knowledge , and your heart tell you.
Amazing video Tyler. Great catch. Best thing you had going for you was calving on that nice green grass in warm weather. 10/10.
You are a hard worker and may you be blessed
Hello , sure is good to see you work ,I have done those things. You're doing GREAT!!!
first time mom not so sure what to do but at least the calf is alive lets hope he/she continues to grow hugssssssssss
I loved when you said “come on Bubba”
Both the mother and her calf had just been through a very lenghty rough time, so it is understandable that they both needed some extra time to get through the aftermath of birthing and being birthed! I really hope that all will go well in the future for both mother and baby! 😍🙏💖
Having Premix Colostrum back at the Barn allows you to get sufficient calories into him #/I’m 1 and #2 involves giving her a big
You are a wealth of information! You amaze me.
Sigh. Scrolled and scrolled looking for an update. This was such a great video. Sure would like to hear "the rest of the story."
Yes Tyler, I agree, approaching an animal in the least “predator” like position and not staring at them is always your best bet. I also think that she is aware of the help that you gave her. Great job on the pull, boy you were quick getting that chain on! Patience is always so hard when you know that is what needed😳. Hoping for the best in the AM....for the cow and calf, which will then make you feel better.
Nice action. I'm impressed! Good professional job! I keep my fingers crossed for this guy and his mom. God Bless FTR!
Poor calf was probabably in distress for awhile!!
Great channel. Prayers for you, calf and momma
Great save Tyler. Many prayers thing's work out in the morning.
Farmer Tyler you did great dude. Moving shoulder first and not facing the cow is correct, this also the same with horses.
This was great content, thank you for this video... one of your best.
Tyler, something I have started to do with Heifers is to put powdered milk on the calf and rub it into the calf's fur. She will lick that 99% of the time and by the time she is done, she loves her calf. Its cheep insurance with heifers.
Good idea. Do you use "milk replacer" or the old Carnation powdered mike
@@hl8256 we use milk replacer.
great job there tyler!! if momma was in pain i would guess the calf is too!! a little rest will probably do wonders. good video with so many things to do!!
Nicely done on the breech! Had 1 two years ago with a crazy cow that I had to rope off to an I-beam to keep her from jumping fence. After that calf weaned she was gone. Keep up the good work Sir!
Hello Tyler.
All you hard work will hopefully pay off. It already has in a way because she feel comfortable around you. Great job.
God Bless them two. So precious mom and baby. You saved him. Awsome
Wow I was holding my breath the whole time! I had just seen thru a a stillborn calf be pulled with a wench calf pull-so sad & I was so happy to see this guy breathing that I could have cried. I’m anxious to see how he’s doing. I think you did an excellent job!❤️
Nice work. I lost one this year that was breach. Look up "the recovery position," it works wonders when new calves are struggling to breathe.
I'm anxious to hear how the calf is that was breach. What a fantastic job you did to save him!
Ty... herdsman...
Great video and I love that you shared that with us. I know that a breach is a difficult way but often times they can do well. Sometimes however not.......I will be anxious to see how it does next time you post. Hopefully it will all be good. It has to be a heart breaker to have a live animal with all the possibilities to go forward to fail. Hoping the calf can nurse and get some first nursing in to get all the nourishment and so on that it needs after first born.
That had to be difficult to film but you are cool as a cucumber and handled it just right. Awesome video.....hope the little duffer makes it ok and all is well.
Best to you
Body language is a big thing
Especially between prey animals and Predator animals
You are 100% correct
You're a hero!!! Great job for saving that calf..
Another amazing video thank you
Thanks Tyler for taking the time to film birth , I have learnt alot from you .
Amazing video!!
Great video Tyler. I hope you don't make us wait till next Tuesday to get an update 🙂
Maybe worth having a bottle of that "orphan no more" powder that Sonne Farms always keep at hand...
Good job with the calving, you did your part well.
Now you left us with a cliff hanger Tyler! 😁 Sure hope we see good news soon! 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍👍
