One of my favorite things that I noticed that me and my friend just figured out a few days ago after all these years…if you do Devilman vs Goku his ultimate move Devilmite Beam is unaffected by Goku. This is because in Dragonball Goku is unaffected by it because he doesn’t think evil thoughts at all. However, if you do any form of SSJ Goku vs Devilman, his Devilmite Beam actually does damage (it’s very little I think only 1500) because of the rage and emotion that SSJ form gives Goku making him more brutal like his fight with frieza and etc. Devilmite beam also increases in damage the more evil the opponent is so Villains like Scouter Vegeta and Frieza will differ in damage due to Frieza being more evil. Also, how can Bandai or whoever look at this game, and then look at everything Super has given us, look at how much graphics and technology improved and not make another Budokai Tenkaichi game yet? I’d do anything for a new Tenkaichi game 😭
@@artemis1993 that could be true, but I think the creator of the dragon ball games are pretty fair with dragon ball base rosters. Xenoverse 2 base roster was pretty big and half the characters who weren’t in the base roster either came after Xenoverse, or was only in the manga at the time, or didn’t get much screen time yet, and BT3 had a massive base rister. If they did do dlc, I think characters like the Moro saga arc and onward would likely be dlc, and maybe they’d save a few older popular characters for dlc.
Another cool detail I found is that characters like goku and vegeta the further they transform the slower their ki recharge is. For example goku charges ki at his fastest in base form but the when he goes super sayain 3 you can notice a huge drop in charging ki and I assume this is due to how much energy the transformation needs in order to maintain it. God I love these tiny details it shows a lot of love and care went into this game. Another cool one is that the goku that can use kaioken has this detail that if you use the buff over 20 times it actually turns into a debuff. This is of course referring how goku is only able to handle x20 kaioken

so many new things after 15 years, its so great to see :D 3:30 goku used the destructo disk against jiren as well but since thats long after the game was released, the only time would be against buu, yeah.
I remember how blown away I was when I first saw battle damage in a DBZ game. I thought it was so cool and it really helped make the games feel more like the anime. The battle damage being homages to battle damage from the anime was a really nice touch as well. I feel like the charging underwater being slower was a gameplay choice to discourage you from doing it.
Another thing that I always loved is that when you're charging the spirit bomb with energy, between one "energy gain" and another you can see the sphere in the sky growing. I don't remember if it was only in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, but was pretty cool
This franchise was/is one the best. I still remember all the crazy match ups me and my friend would try! Loved that they had a lot of giant characters and movie characters too!
By the by, you don't actually have to jump with Goku to get Destructo Disk. Charging up the Ki shot while hovering up works the same way in activating that, giving you much more active control over it and less awkward floaty maneuvering.
This game is still to this very day my absolute favorite DBZ game ever produced, and nothing has come even close it thereafter, not even the Xenoverse series.
The battle damage became noticeable when the characters would randomly start drifting to one side like they'd lost brain cells after too many beam struggles. Those took a toll on my controllers xD

3:25 Goku will also throw a disc if you charge a blast while moving
4:37 Vegata, King Vegeta and Turles (reference to the Movie) are the only ones who can do this
I already knew all these facts having played this game for years, but this is still a great video. This game had so much content and was so fun. Also, I always loved how the Hyperbolic Time Chamber looked in this game it’s the nicest it’s ever looked imo. Also, how can Bandai or whoever look at this game, and then look at everything Super has given us, look at how much graphics and technology improved and not make another Budokai Tenkaichi game yet? I’d do anything for a new Tenkaichi game 😭
Actually, you *don't* want a new Tenkaichi game. Because if there was one, they'd lock half the roster of the game behind a DLC paywall :/
Hey, you got your wish! Hopefully BT4 is good! 🙏
Goku’s interaction’s with Future Gohan look key got me fighting tears 😭
2:45 hit me in the feels
The future gohan and goku chat use to always get me. My boy gohan was going through it
Another cool detail I found is that characters like goku and vegeta the further they transform the slower their ki recharge is.
2:55 broke my heart
The amount of depth in this game never ceases to amaze me. I'm a part of a League that uses the in game AI customizatio to run an AI vs AI Battle League and despite doing so for checks notes 12 years now, we are still finding out new stuff about this game mechanically It's crazy.
“Grandpa! I’m a Super Saiyan! Isn’t that amazing!”
“The fuck’s a Saiyan?”
Now and forever the best DB fighting game. Glad this game was a part of my childhood, I'll never forget the endless nights pairing random characters to fight each other or scrolling through the menus
1:56
All these interactions are so wholesome, my eyes are watering
2:57 stand tall Gohan you are strong 🗣️🗣️
“What is it Gohan? You look sad… what’s wrong?” That one touched my heart😭
I miss this game! Definitely one of the best DBZ games created…
Gotta love the interaction he had with grandpa Gohan/ bardock and future Gohan. It's a bittersweet moment
Dude the Future Gohan and Goku interaction got me in the feels.Until I heard that creepy laugh...
I let slip a tear with future gohan and goku interaction😢
I knew these things, but it was still fun to watch
Good video, love that people are still making channels for the love of dbz and uploading good content
That savage moment where future gohan says "I'll do my best" and then someone laughs😭😭
Who didn't know about these details? Lmao
I feel like anyone who sank hours into this game should know about these
Yup played the shit out of this as a kid and still do and I knew every one hahaha but it’s still neat that no other dbz game has this much fan service.
I know every bit of those details too lol. The video is missing some.
Crazy how I spent countless hours playing this game as a kid and somehow I never knew most of this. I had no idea this game had so many fine details! Really makes you appreciate the passion the developers clearly put into it
3:55 *dragon Ball super left the chat*
Tht future Gohan one man, shit hits hard it's such a sad ending for that timeline gohan
Definitely needs a part 2
Will do!
Working on it right now, want it to be a bit longer than this one.
2:39 the way this fight is framed feels like future gohan had this dream a thousand times 😭
all my life and all the hours I had poured into this game I NEVER knew about the looking at the moon transformation
this game is absolutely brimming with passion and polish
They really put their heart into this game. The interaction between future Gohan and Goku is just sad 😔
The destructo disk and ape transformations I NEVER knew. That’s awesome. Love to see a remake of this
did you know that charging time for saibermen is actually faster underwater then out of water
That is extraordinary detail.
Crazy I remember having this game in high school. All my friends would come over and hold tournaments against each other
Yes make a part two this is my favorite Dragon Ball Z game I played in 2007
Will do bro!
@@kadazee Thank you for making the part 2 🔥🔥
Hey what’s the soundtrack used around 2:30 that ends after the future gohan goku interaction
dark half form Budokai tenkaichi 2
Adding onto the battle damaged clothing, one cool thing I always liked was if Grandpa Gohan loses a beam struggle or is hit with an ultimate attack he loses his mask.
The Future Gohan interaction is so heartbreaking
Whos here after Budokai Tenkaichi 4 got announced.
The amount of insane move sets this game had is why it'll forever be my favorite
It was like controling the anime rather than just playing a game
When Goku and Future Gohan were talking and the sad music started playing... that hit different 🥲
2:43 first time I ever hear Goku sound like a real father.
You haven’t watched dbz then
so many new things after 15 years, its so great to see :D
3:30 goku used the destructo disk against jiren as well but since thats long after the game was released, the only time would be against buu, yeah.
1:05 goku sounds like sonic fron sonic unleashed right here
No he doesn't
I remember how blown away I was when I first saw battle damage in a DBZ game. I thought it was so cool and it really helped make the games feel more like the anime. The battle damage being homages to battle damage from the anime was a really nice touch as well. I feel like the charging underwater being slower was a gameplay choice to discourage you from doing it.
1:18 if you turn the camera you can see it in the background
No its just in bt2
Another thing that I always loved is that when you're charging the spirit bomb with energy, between one "energy gain" and another you can see the sphere in the sky growing. I don't remember if it was only in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, but was pretty cool
hey bro whats the song used at 3:14? can u link me to it, is it from the game?
ua-cam.com/video/bFfcnEKzdMY/v-deo.html
It's a remix of Buu's fury intro
Can’t wait to see the amazing little details they iterate in the 4th game and then to see your video about them , always interesting !
Budokai tenkaichi 4 is on the way 🏆
This franchise was/is one the best. I still remember all the crazy match ups me and my friend would try! Loved that they had a lot of giant characters and movie characters too!
I haven't seen this in your videos yet, but if you charged the spirit bomb with Share Your Energy, it actually appears in the atmosphere of the map.
3:18 *xeno 2 left the chat*
2:39 this hits really hard man ;-;
By the by, you don't actually have to jump with Goku to get Destructo Disk. Charging up the Ki shot while hovering up works the same way in activating that, giving you much more active control over it and less awkward floaty maneuvering.
Future gohan with the one arm was my guy tho
Anyone here after BT4 teaser
No
This game is still to this very day my absolute favorite DBZ game ever produced, and nothing has come even close it thereafter, not even the Xenoverse series.
Came back here after seeing budokai tenkaichi 4. Time to hype myself up! from old to being the new. time flies
Awesome video! I miss this game! Also, I think Turles can also create his own artificial moon as well for the Great Ape transformation
The battle damage became noticeable when the characters would randomly start drifting to one side like they'd lost brain cells after too many beam struggles. Those took a toll on my controllers xD
Quando os jogos eram feitos por pessoas que gostavam e conheciam o jogo que estava sendo construído e o objetivo do jogo era ter qualidade e ser divertido
Factsss
É isso
You can also watch the spirt bomb grow every time you use give me energy
Nice vid bro just bought the game, can't wait to play it.
This the first time playing the game?
@@kadazee show graphics
How in the world did you managed to buy this game, it’s ancient now and rare to even get one without having somebody sell it
"stand tall Gohan you'll have to protect everyone in the future"
Me: 😳
Best db game there is
My personal favorite honestly.
2:56
Gohan: W-Where do you think we are right now?
Goku: 👁👄👁
I just figured out that Turles can create his own artificial moon as well, not much of an addition but I thought I'd just put it out there lol
2:42 hit me in the feels wtf
