As a truck driver crossing into Canada and back into the U.S., the U.S. customs were jerks and an embarrassment to our country. So glad you got to see Glacier National Park. It's called the Alps of North America.
My sister worked at Many Glacier Hotel one or two summers. They hired college students with a musical background who would perform nightly for the guests in addition to their hotel jobs. The trails there are beautiful.
I got to stay a couple nights at that Many Glacier hotel a few years ago. There are indeed many glaciers but you have to hike out about a half day to see most of them. Beautiful place, yes, especially in the late afternoon when you get back from hiking and you know you can sleep there rather than driving a bunch. Very peaceful at night.
Glacier Park is breathtaking and probably the most beautiful of all the parks in the lower 48 States (imo). I'm so glad you have been able to visit so many places the likes of which most Americans will never bother to visit or they are just not able.
Wow that place is beautiful Marie. If I ever see a grizzly bear that's the way I would like to see one, with a lot of space between me and the bear.😅 Great video Marie.
Great videography of Montana and the natural beauty of the lakes and mountains in that part of the 🇺🇸. Glacier National Park is absolutely gorgeous! For anyone who hikes...oh yes, watch for bears...but my episode involved a wasp. There is a terror in something small. Glad you enjoyed this segment of your trip. We did too! Hope you come back. 😊
At 8:47 you show a side by side comparison of Grinnell glacier in 1938 and 2015. The 5 or 6 mile hike from Many Glacier Hotel to Grinnell Glacier is one of my favorites.
I’m from Illinois, north/northwest of Chicago. Whitefish Montana is one of my favorite places. We went skiing at Whitefish (Big Mountain) and stayed in Columbia Falls. Glacier National Park is truly spectacular. Unfortunately we couldn’t get very far into the park because of the snow. But what we did see was beautiful. The view of Glacier’s snow covered peaks from the top of Big Mountain at the Whitefish Mountain Resort was truly breathtaking.
Another great video showcasing more of the beautiful landscapes of the US and Canada. It is such a treat to see it through your lens Marie. I just love the wide variety of climates and landscapes that exists with our borders. From the beautiful deserts of Arizona and New Mexico to the vast forest of Montana and Alberta, you have seen it all, and then some. Your videos are exceptionally well edited and an absolute joy to watch. I'm happy to be a patreon of your channel. Its worth every cent. ♥
The border crossing always seems to be a different story every time! I guess some people just take their jobs more seriously than others. Glad everything went smoothly though and your were able proceed with your Montana experience. Looking forward to what the next video has in store. Cheers! 🍻🌲🚣♀️🐻🌞
Bonjour Marie! I hope that you and your famiy, friends, and loved ones are all doing well. It's getting cooooold here in the Detroit, Michigan area, but this warmed me up! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed Edited To Add: Yay, I finally had the first comment on one of Marie's videos! 🥳
As a Clinical Doctor of Pharmacy, I was working for a national specialty pharmacy in Tennessee & I had to call an MD office in Missoula Montana. It turned out the RN I talked to was originally from the same town where I was the Director of Music at a local Church. [I am bivocational as a Clinical Pharmacist , and Director of Church Music.] I have always found it uplifting that no matter how far apart we may be, you always find folks from home!
So glad that you finally made it to Montana! It's too bad that smoke from the forest fires obscured a lot of the views. I grew up in Michigan, but now live about one mile east of Whitefish. It really is a very beautiful area, and I am blessed to be able to live here.
So glad you got to see part of Glacier National Park. Another beautiful video. I think I ate lunch at the same place you did at 8:00. The day before was lunch at the Many Glacier hotel! We had just driven across Going To The Sun Road on a Red Bus tour but the weather wasn’t as nice. Northeast of Whitefish is the other end of it, where I stayed at Lake McDonald. PS: I never got to see a grizzly but I did see a small black bear.
When we moved from Europe we ended up in Montana and I would say it is my favorite place I have ever lived. I spent many days in and around Glacier Park camping, fishing, and hiking with friends. I lived in Cut Bank, then Whitefish but it got so expensive I ended up moving.
Marie, you are so fortunate to visit Montana. To put things into perspective, probably 95% of Americans will never get to visit Montana, and that's a shame.
I know, and some think it is cool not to even have seen the incredible beauty and vastness of the West! You just have to wonder about the thinking of some people. One guy from New York City was dismissive of Montana in his comments here on UA-cam, so I told him that the skyscrapers of New York are literally _nothing_ compared to the towering peaks of the Rockies in North America. I didn't hear anything more from him on the issue, ha, ha! 👀😉🤣😂
Marie, thank you for bringing back some of my past memories. Western Montana is still one of my all time favorite places in the United States. So happy for you to have gotten to experience it. At my age now, I just load up the 'ole Microsoft Flight Simulator and fly around that area (along with British Columbia, Canada). So beautiful! Love your vids!
Glacier National Park is a sight to behold! I'd love to able to spend a few days there just hiking and taking in all those gorgeous sights. I would definitely be nervous about running into grizzly bears up close, though.😳
Such a gorgeous part of the country. Grizzlies are definitely best seen at a distance. 😊 Beautiful animals, but they can be quite ferocious. Love following your adventures. I hope you get to Idaho Falls and Twin Falls. Two wonderful small cities with lots of natural beauty in the area.
I stayed at Many Glaciers for 8 days, June of 2021. Each day was in the low to mid 40's F, (colder nights) but the scenery from our lakeside room was spectacular ...as this video verifies.
Marie you are such a wonderful breath of fresh air! You’re smart well spoken and “easy on the eyes”😂😂I love your trips and your videography….my wife and daughter have been promising me for 2@ years to travel to Montana.. but every year something “pops” up… thsnks for bringing me their! Bon chance!
I’m currently living in Montana right now. I’ve been here about eight years, almost 8 1/2. I have lived in Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and I’m currently living in a town called hungry horse. I’ve been in whitefish more times than I can count. I’m glad you got to experience it because it’s a really wonderful place. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived in. Sadly a lot of people from out of state are transplanting here, and trying to ruin it. When I came here, I knew I had to adapt to Montana instead of expecting Montana to adapt to me. Either way I’m glad you got to come down, and I hope you had a great time.
Hi Miss Marie !!! Interesting that I warned you about the wildlife being Dangerous & you were lucky enough to see Grizzly Bears 🐻 from across the river best & safest way to see them other then A zoo !!! 🤪😂🤣🤔 As always the like button 🔘 has been Illuminated 😁👍👍😎🤗🎄⛄🇺🇲
Greetings from Kalispell Montana (12 miles south of Whitefish). I moved here about a year and a half ago and was immediately struck by how polite everyone is in Montana. People here are honest and trusting and expect the same of you. However, we have given up on civilizing the grizzly bears.
Yeah that's a lie, people are assholes here, and don't expect the school system to be good either, bullying is HUGE and drug problem is HUGE, I've been in libby my whole life
Hey Marie' that's how you Montana ' 🎒 🏞️ 🧭 "Nature unfolds her Treasure at the first rays of sunshine" The Scenic drives are so Amazing , no wonder it's becoming a contender for the most favoured part of the states. I'll be honest with you Marie, your experience with US customs is depressingly common. I work with customs as part of my job, and it seems like a lot of angry people gravitate towards working as border agents. It makes me sad, since they're the first Americans most people meet when visiting the US.
It blows my mind how they hassle folks coming in legally yet the ones who sneak in down on the other border get treated better than our veterans, our homeless and our homeless veterans. This nation is a travesty
I am a US citizen and tend to get rudeness from Canadian border agents(in the far west). Just a base level government job I suppose, and probably made worse as a department that is loaded with political biases. (In any country.) Like the being at the DMV, but given more power to exercise their poor judgment.
I live on the Canadian/US border and cross back and forth quite a lot. Yes, a lot of the people that work the border up here are outsiders that come up from the Mexican border stations and they are very angry and suspicious of locals. I’ve also come across Canadian border guards that are angry and rude also. It’s always the guys who look like body builders that are having either a roid rage moment or they have hemorrhoids. 😂
@@ffarmchicken The last problem I had was going into Canada and the agent was giving us a bunch of rude tone and comments about how Canada is a sovreign country with its own laws and we don't have a right to just bring our guns in and tour around, bla bla bla. (We didn't bring any weapons it was just an angry political rant.) The whole time I'm thinking "this gal isn't even a native Canadian" (Indian look and still had an indian accent). Probably tried for the USA first but didn't get picked in the immigration lottery so settled for Canada.(Much easier due to lingering British association of laws in both countries.) Now she just takes it out on any US natives.
Cool. I was born and raised in Montana, on the prairie side of the state. After the military, I graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman. And Bozeman is where I just got back from, after spending a week with my sister and her family over Christmas - they have lived there for over 30 years now.
Everything looks so beautiful. I went in 2020 during the pandemic and alot of stuff was closed. You could only get into the park through the west entrance and it was so busy that if you didn't arrive before 9 a.m you weren't getting in until at least 3 p.m. I stayed at the moose creek campground and one morning there were cars backed up to that campground waiting to get into the park. I'm gonna have try and go again and hopefully its not that busy. Looks like you had a great time anyway.
I hope you get to visit Oregon. So much in one state; ocean beaches, mountains, the Columbia River Gorge, Portland/Eugene areas , the forested rainy west side of the Cascade Mtns, the 'dry side' eastern desert & the awesome Central Oregon Deschutes/Bend area.
You are gorgeous! If you are ever in Las Vegas, Nevada, where I live let me know if you feel comfortable and I'd love to show you around! I love Montana. A great state, and in my opinion the most free people on earth. Beautiful place.
If you get a chance, read Norman Maclean’s A River Runs Through It book, it’s sort of a novella with other short stories included. Maclean was raised in Western Montana in the early 20th century but became a professor in Chicago, IL. He then wrote these stories as fiction but based on his youthful experiences in Montana. A very good movie was made with the same name directed by Robert Redford and starring Brad Pitt in the early 90’s.
I just had this pop up on my suggested video list. Waterton is part of my stomping grounds, and is a fantastic place. I'm sorry to hear bout the difficulty you had at the border crossing. There are some border guards who are great people, but unfortunately, there are also border guards who see their job as an opportunity to exercise power and control over other people.
One time I was going to Canada for work. A work colleague from the UK flew to Boston and from there both of us drove to Halifax. Crossing the border was 100% fine for me. The instant he presented his British passport the mood changed and the Canadian customs agent seemingly had an alternate identity.
The grizzlies you saw were at what I consider to be a perfect viewing distance. 😂 When I visited Glacier many years ago, my wife and I saw a sow grizzly with cubs walking across a talus slope -- fortunately from a distance of about 250 meters!
I have lived in Whiteifish Montana my entire life (30 years) and even after all this time I can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else. I have wanted to visit other places yes but I can't imagine a more perfect place to call home.
I wish u would have come to the four corners area. A lot Is ancient Indian dwellings in my area. If u get a chance to see Mesa Verde National Park in colo. There's only one place in the USA that u can stand in four states at the same time. There's a old volcano that looks like ship.
I once went through the border from Glacier to Canada, it may have been the same one you did. I got through no problem, just showing my drivers license. But I decided I wanted my passport stamped. I went back, asked for a stamp, they asked "have you ever been arrested?". Foolishly, I said Yes I have. Big mistake. They began treating me liked a murder suspect, keeping me in a room, asking me questions, all very serious. I thought they would not let me enter Canada. But eventually they did, with a big red stamp that said "Discretionary entry, must leave Canada in two weeks", thereby ruining that passport. So do not ask for a Canadian passport stamp if you're already in the country! I'm glad there was a nice fellow there Marie after that mean border lady. Great that you got a chance to see beautiful Glacier National Park!
What an awesome trip you had marie....this series has been very fun to watch. You got to visit what is by far my favorite part of the continent. I just wish our border agents were more representative of the people of the US and treat foreign visitors better. Cant wit till the next video....❤❤❤
The border thing happened to me entering Canada. I wrote a letter to the Canadian border agency and they put the employee on a performance plan. I encourage you to write a letter to US Customs.
Yep, It's easy to dismiss a phone call or e-mail. But write a letter, especially if you cc a few others, and that will often get results. Hard to ignore, has been my experience, in any situation.
Those rural Canadian/US crossing I think the agents just get bored cause nothing really ever happens. We used to cross just to drink back back when I was 18 cause it was legal in Canada and you didn't even need a passport. Got pulled out and interrogated almost every time.
Absolutely stunning scenery but the release date may be unfortunate. I hope more people see this later on after a 2 couple more days past Thanksgiving. The landscapes are impressive. The border crossings are always interesting and seem to follow no pattern or logic on either side of the border. The lodge and hotel were gorgeous along with the Inn in Waterton. As always you are curious and in good humor. SO Happy you saw a Grizzly! I am anticipating a Red Bus Jammer Trip inside Glacier-hope you did it? So after this was Florida? What a contrast!
Interestingly enough, when we crossed the same border, some years ago, it was the Canadian border guard woman that was nasty. I guess we all have our days. 😊
From every foreigner who crosses the northern border, I hear so many of them have nightmare situations. What are those guards smoking up there? We don't know. The average American and Canadian will be very nice to you though. It's like night and day. Those guards must be trained to be cold ? I don't get it but it annoys me as an American when I hear them mistreating people like this.
Glad you enjoyed your adventure and sorry about the customs agent. Just pray that God will give them what they deserve and forget about them. Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself!
Absolutely stunning scenery Marie, thank you. One of these years I’ll visit Montana 🙂. Sorry about your experience at the border. Sadly majority of government workers are absolutely useless. You probably would have had an easier time coming across illegally at the southern border 🤦♂️.
I can’t believe people have been I rude at border crossings! It’s not like you’re trying to enter illegally or become a permanent residence asking for handouts. You’re a tourist! Tourism brings money to local economies. She should be appreciative of you!!!
Some of the border and customs officials are morons in how they behave and should be fired. I've run into a few of them coming and going from Canada that are not public servants at all. They just enjoy being able to talk down to people and hinder them in some way. Unfit for public service. 🤨
I've had some not friendly "interrogations" from Canadian border guards. I just brace myself for the worst, and sometimes I don't get the third degree.
please tell me if you see this post because i have mentioned about three times now the fourth to let you know that even though we are allies with canada.. that is referring to our government not necessarily the people because canadians call us arrogant and we call them snooty and smarmy ( Or words that mean about the same. so when your passing the border into america and canada there are some that will think you a back biter. It has actually nothing to do with you but the circumstances... Please keep this in mind.
Sometimes Law enforcement will use a technique called and "adversarial interview." The idea is to be confrontational, create stress and see how you react.
MONTANA is very beautiful (,animals ,forest, nature,)and ALBERTA with a SUNRISE...Beautiful.THANK'S🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
Western Montana is beautiful. Eastern Montana, the bigger half of the state, is desolate.
Glacier National Park is stunning, so glad you were able to see it.
Glacier National Park and, more specifically, the Izaak Walton Inn have been my happy place for the majority of my life. So glad you got to enjoy it!!

I entered Montana with my future wife in 1976 who was French. The Customs agent asked, " Where did you pick her up?"
Wow that place is beautiful Marie. If I ever see a grizzly bear that's the way I would like to see one, with a lot of space between me and the bear.😅 Great video Marie.

I live 30 minutes away for 65 years.
At 8:47 you show a side by side comparison of Grinnell glacier in 1938 and 2015. The 5 or 6 mile hike from Many Glacier Hotel to Grinnell Glacier is one of my favorites.

Hi Marie!! This is a test run to see if anything has changed!
It's working 🤗
So weird to come across a video featuring my hometown (Whitefish). It's neat seeing where I live from an outside perspective.
Oh man, the fires cause such devastation, and smoky air. Other than that, beautiful adventure! ❤😊

I live 200 yards from the foot bridge across the river in Whitefish.
You got my luck, trying to get through custom!! 😂😂😂😂
I live right by where you visited in NW Montana. 30 min from Glacier National Park.
Wow, that sure was weird at the border! Thank God for staying peaceful!
That seagull was really far from the ocean
LOL…you’re welcome 😊 …and oh that beautiful sunrise!!!
A Sunrise in pastel (soft muted lighter shades of pink, blue, and orange).
I again comend you on your complimentary music.😊
Seagulls in Montana!
Did you take the International Ferry down to Goat Haunt?
I grew up in Montana for a 9 year old boy from Chicago it was heavan
I hope you got some Montana Huckleberry Pie...!
Those seagulls at Witefish Beach are trying to steal food or take anything shiny...
I have a friend who calls them flying rats.
Hello young lady I live in Phila PA I drove 9HR and 500 miles to North Carolina
Montana is called "Big Sky Country" that only makes sense after you have been there.
English use the same word for Chalet.
In Montana, it’s known that small high line towns near the Canadian border can be full of whackos.
Gorgeous!
And the park wasn't bad either!
The bears are very dangerous in Glacier NP. Be very careful.
👍🇺🇸
I’m sorry about your experience at the border. Both American and Canadian border guards can be very rude at times.
To put the size of Montana into perspective, the entirety of the country of France is only 46 percent larger than Montana.

Avoid "dark aura" people!
Sometimes Law enforcement will use a technique called and "adversarial interview." The idea is to be confrontational, create stress and see how you react.
