A big thank you to Skullcandy for sending these out for review. The Hesh 3 Headphones are the more expensive of the two, and they have some great features such as 4 hour playback time, with just a 10 minute charge.
The Riff Wireless Headphones are cheaper and lack some of the extra features you'll find with the Hesh 3's.

My brother gave me his old riff wireless headset last Christmas, but three years of use, they’ve finally snapped in half. Now I’m upgrading to some Hesh 3s.
I had the wired version, and that broke after nearly 2 years of usage. I wasn't rough with them, I simply put them on and they finally snapped. Its a shame because they sounded pretty good considering their price. I read reviews of the Riff not even lasting 2 months or breaking right out of the box, so I was as careful as I could be with them. As much as I loved my Riff, the Hesh ANC is now my new daily driver since its way more durable, its more comfortable, and it sounds better. I also have the benefit of being able to move around freely while listening to music. I knew the Riff would break at some point due to how thin the plastic on the headband is. If you want something more durable, there are plenty of options around that same pricerange that will last you longer.
@@LightKnight2311 You just put JB Weld on the "snap line" design flaw of the RIFF and that fixes the problem.

1:30 as an asus phone and hesh 3 owner. I know that feeling. Before getting my hesh 3 on my birthday many people complained about my zenfone 5z mic quality. The hesh 3 has completely changed my mind in the case of mic quality

I were wondering riff earcups would be uncomfortable to wear but when you slightly fair your hand on that I feel it so soft outside of video. It's totally different from your other videos. Astounding review Sir Roger.

My dad got me the wrong heaphones , instead of getting me the msi he got me the skullcandy , so can you tell me , are the riffs atleast any good at gaming?

@@amrkasa Yes they have _good_ bass, but not loud or intense bass if that is what you mean. They have a punchy feeling to them, enough to make the music feel very accurate.

Hi, my ears hurt in 1-2 hours everytime I use a headset. So I'm wondering which is more comfortable for the ears? Is it the hesh 3 or the riff?
Hey Lora! I would 100% recommend the Riff headset for comfort. The Hesh 3 is more isolated and so it blocks more surrounding noise. For comfort though - the Riff is definitely better.

I have had a hard time with over ear headphones but they are the only ones that suit me my ears are shaped abnormally and I cant use earphones so Im 6feet do you think hesh 3 would be actually be over ear headphones for me?

Do these isolate, for instance, the rumble of a vehicle and is the bass too prominent for audiophiles? Thanks for the review too, great video 👍
Thanks for checking out the video, Yousif! The isolation is good but not as good as some other headsets. It will block out surrounding noise but not 100% Bass is good...but if you spend a little more, you will definitely notice the difference.
Overall, they are not bad at all. If you are looking for serious noise cancellation and powerful bass, I would suggest spending a little more and going for one of their slightly more expensive headsets.

@@thepilotnetwork I uh, I'm using my hesh3's for 2 years now and nothing happened to them so far even tho I keep dropping them every other week. But the left ear cushion did tear a little from the bottom but it still works perfectly fine :)

The honest truth is I'm very fussy with headsets for gaming. I have used the Hesh 3 though (wired) for a bit of Fortnite and Apex Legends. Got to say the audio is pretty good 👌🏻

Hey - thanks for the kind words! The honest truth is I have never used the headset for gaming. I'm sure it would work fine but I always prefer a wired headset for gaming.
Surround sound won't be as good as a proper surround sound gaming headset...but with standard stereo sound it's pretty good.

the sound is good, I really hated when mine broke in less than a month of in home usage. I bought those to use in my PC, and I'm the kind of person who is very carefull with his tech. These broke on the right hand side speaker, the plastic broke out of nowhere!

Hi Gef! For casual listening I think the Riff would be great! More expensive headsets like the Hesh 3 would give you a different soundstage, a slightly warmer sound with more bass perhaps. With that said though, the Riff headset is not bad at all. I would happily use that for TV programs 😎

Hey mate, I know I'm very late to this, but I wanted to know about the material used for the outer covering of the speakers on the Skullcandy Riff Wired headphones. Does it last long or does it tear off/wear out? It looks very delicate to be honest and looks like it may come out in pieces. I'm having a hard time choosing a headphones and I was looking at Skullcandy Riff Wired, JBL T450BT, Sony MDR-ZX110AP and Sennheiser HD 206. Please give me your thoughts.
Also, how strong is the headband on the Riff? Does it feel like it might break fastly?

Hi, thanks for watching the video! I'll be honest and say at higher volumes there is a little bit for sure. The headset is a snug fit for me though and so at low to medium volumes, there really isn't much sound leakage at all 👍🏻
