    In polish I think that was orange fruit first because fruit name is pomarańcza and color is pomarańczowy and it sound like something was orangie like orange pants (not the color) I mean looking like orange or something like thus

    Why do some words have the same lexeme but completely different semantic uses? E.g. Bank meaning the land beside a river as well as the place in which we store money. Were they ever historically similar in meaning?
