23:00 - Many if not most kids want to be parents eventually, mimicking adults is one of the most common forms of play. And tweens & teens grow a little jaded against parents but they still appreciate good role models & well-rounded characters who happen to be parents.
Not to mention, almost the entire original X-Men team (except infini-twink Ice Man) have all had parent-y energy for decades now. They may as well have their own kids - just install a secret mutant daycare on the manor grounds.
24:50 I can jive with the first sentence; they spent so much ink on a convoluted "truth" of Pietro and Wanda not being mutants, that throwing another layer of "well, actually" on it would just serve to reveal all the characters involved to have been (even bigger) idiots. That said, it would be just a temporary pain, as long-term after a reretcon, people would simply ignore when the retcon was in effect. And the whole "it wasn't that important, anyway" is deeply disingenuous. Just for starters, House of M is a perennial seller for them, and it's fundamental that Magneto is Wanda's father in it.

12:10 I miss the simpler days of early Marvel, when all people mutated later in their life were mutates and all people born with a mutation were mutants, which is how and why Franklin Richards was one. But after they zeroed in on the X-gene, it makes no sense to go back. So I guess we need a new term for superpowered children of mutates.

27:50 He has a point that it has been too long for a skrull reveal, especially with Secret Invasion having happened in the meantime, but I could easily think of a classic workaround: a skrull did it, but the real Hank Pym was returned soon after and made to think that he had done it. However, what would actually be needed is an editorial that has Hank's back and doesn't let redemption be undone before it can take root. And I would never conflate Hank-616 with Hank-1610, but I have no idea about Gen Z for whom those are all a vague bunch of old stories they've never read. Given how pervasive Batfam fanon myths are among them, I sadly wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth to his claim.

I've been wanting to see Jean and Scott raise their kids. The timeline where they fixed Days of Future Past and AoA. I also like adult Peter Parker with kids. All of their kids have fans. There's enough history to pull from and craft a new take. Just have to create some new villains. A challenge for the new generation of heroes.
Magneto has to always have been born in the 1930s. Problem is that would make him at minimum 70 "15 years ago". He was always depicted as roughly the same age as Xavier.

I think people did conflate Ultimate Ant-Man with regular 616 Ant-Man, and that that’s the only reason the comic fans on forums really started making this big issue about the Hank slap in the late 2000s almost three decades after the comic came out. The Ultimates comics made that a significant aspect of Hank Pym, and the fans carried it over to the 616 line. Funnily, it was more joking at first, but now it seems like the people talking about it never got the joke and thought it was some serious problems with the character that needed addressing. Of course that’s not the main image of Hank Pym either, comics, and that type of online decision about comic characters are too niche for that to be a problem with the character. More people know Hank Pym from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Ant-Man movies from the comic. If anything, a more real problem Marvel might have with Hank Pym in the comics with a new audience is they probably expect him to be older, and for Hope van Dyne to be there.

Canon and Letter to the Editors is an area where I disagree with some. Letters destroyed Spider-man's black suit, and killed a Robin. And arguing Well Look At What We Got From It (Venom, Jason Todd's "rebirth") is not valid as we have no idea if those items may still existed from another story line. Canon is to be considered but not "biblical" for a story. If we always stood or stuck with Canon, would we have a Superman and Wonder Woman who can fly, Wonder Woman's bracelet attack, Superman's laser vision? Would we have a NIghtwing? Would we have the Gods and Monster universe? Red Sun? Any of Marvel's What If and what has become "canon" such as a Captain Peggy Carter who got the Super Solider Serum? Would we have a Harley Quinn?

Kanon is the proper Japanese rendered name for Kwannon.

I seen people debating about Betsy being new Captain Britain.
Betsy was in Kwannon body for decades, of course the non comic readers would recognize and call Kwannon Psylocke.
But then again, Betsy did go by Psylocke first before the body swap.
Since earlier in your video, you talk about Superpower parents and their mutant kids, I did have a theory that Natsu might be the daughter of Cyclops. Because all the evidence of her Name, Natsu means Summer like Scott Summers. Peach Momoko also reveal Natsu has the same powers as Cyclops.
I first believe Natsu’s mother is Kwannon/Kanon. Because in the X Men comic from the 90’s, after Betsy Braddock switched bodies with Kwannon, Betsy tries to seduce Cyclops. I think Betsy said these are feelings from Kwannon body. I don’t really remember if Betsy said that.
But since Kanon is going to be the mentor of Armor and the other Mutants, it is most likely Kanon is not Natsu’s mom.
So the only woman who is the potential is Natsu’s mother is *Colleen Wing.* Because Chris Claremont did originally intended Colleen Wing to be love interest for Cyclops after Jean Grey died. As a way to help Cyclops to move on over the grief of Jean’s death. Cyclops and Colleen went on a few dates. Colleen gave Cyclops a key to her apartment.
*And that was before Cyclops meet Madelyne Pryor.*
But Cyclops and Colleen Wing was dropped. I think because there were different writers of Power Man and Iron Fist didn’t know about consistency. Or the fact Marvel decided to created Madelyne Pryor and revive Jean.
I do believe an Earth 6160 version of Colleen Wing has a child with Cyclops would make sense. Colleen Wing is Japanese. Colleen Wing is street level hero and a normal human without any superpowers. She doesn’t posed a threat compare to the other Marvel heroes. I am curious what her Colleen’s life would be if she lives in Japan/Hi no Kuni.
I can believe The Maker would kill Jean Grey as in Ultimates’ story from FCBD reveals He murdered 6160 Logan and put his corpse in a storage house.
Jean do posed a threat to The Maker just like the other marvel heroes, as she is a powerful telekinetic, she is infamous for the Phoenix and she is mother of Nate Grey and Rachel Summer. Madelyne is Jean’s clone and mother of Cable.
So yeah that would be Cool if Peach Momoko can make what Chris Claremont originally planned Happen in Earth 6160. Cyclops would be the same age group as Peter Parker so it is assuming that Natsu is same age as Peter’s Son or a few years older.
I hope Cyclops would stay loyal to Colleen as Cyclops infamous when it comes to romance.
The question is what happens to Cyclops if he with Colleen Wing?
What Cyclops being doing if there was no X men?
Was Cyclops also murdered by The Maker before Natsu was born?
And it show that Peach Momoko put the efforts to read comics, and. she does care about Canon and consistency. Living up of peach Momoko choose a character let the character tell their story to me.
Colleen Wing should be a human ally of Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X Men. I can provide interesting stories of different perceptive of normal human and a mutant.
Also it can lead to story potential for Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X Men to be involved with The Hand. As Both Colleen Wing and Kwannon/Kanon were Members of The Hand.
There are storylines of Wolverine fighting The hand since a 6160 Version of him is dead someone has fight The Hand.
But the traditional Japanese Hand also might not exist because, The Maker has a law enforcement call the “H.A.N.D” to protect his Storage houses.
Or that could been use by name for the sake of Nostalgia/name recognition.

I the first one is that I heard Hickman having arguments with the Artist of Ultimate Spider-Man.
Only a third of a way through the steam, but I wonder if the new Ultimate Universe is seeking to progress story and time with their one month passing between monthly issues. I'm sure it's temporary, but how would it look like if this was a feature of the new Ultimate Universe?
They're all mutants! The question is if the transcription gene hides or reveals the gene direction naturally or forced later in life. Deadpool and Spider-Man both had their gene expression manipulated. That's how I feel so it must be right.
The part about me being right should be read with intense sarcasm and I'm completely open to other theories, we're talking comic books here.
I feel like separating the Ultimate X-men book into its own separate universe would be a good idea.

24:52 After Sins Past and the Kindred tangle, I have sympathy on this note. That said I'm not sure why the retcons HAVE to be complicated. Wanda is a reality warper who famously took away the X-gene's of other characters, is it a massive stretch for her to have done something similar to herself and her brother? What else would there have to be?
The significant retcons to retcons I'm skeptical of are trying to undo retcons to deaths. While I think those initial retcons should be seriously weighed to consider if it's worth it, it feels mean to then throw away resulting character stories as if they don't matter.
I say start a new take. There's so many different universes. Just call it another. Over 60 years and different takes to draw inspiration from. It is easier to categorize. Too many things overlap, and individual titles start to lose themselves.

He could also mean that the Marvel Universe (was allowed to age for decades, but) is now eternally frozen at that age (to keep the OG teen heroes just below the big, scary "don't trust anyone over 30"), which I would fundamentally oppose. In theory it could work (just look at most newspaper cartoons), but they do keep having students/sidekicks explicitly age up at a fairly steady rate (never mind the many "boring" toddlers that have suddenly jumped up several years at once through some silly means), so having everyone bunch up at the top of the age range, as the older ones stop aging, quickly gets absurd. 33:15 No, that really isn't what they were asking. A comic book time conversion rate of 1/4 (Marvel) to 1/5 (DC) provides ample room for all stories - in the olden days because there weren't that many for any given character, and nowadays thanks to decompressed storytelling. My number one problem with current DC is how they keep acting coy about almost all characters' ages (which wouldn't be that much of an issue if it weren't for the N'ew 52 deagings and the Infinite Frontier return of almost all pre-N52 history), and when something does mention an age, it more often than not is absurdly young. 43:45 Their original plan was 1 year per 100 issues, and given the release frequency of the Bendis and Bagley run, this doesn't feel that far off, but I don't remember how well they adhered to it in the end before Bendis got bored of li'l Pete.
