- Which one is the best investment?
Mutual funds or Index funds or ETFs?
In this video, we're diving deep into investing, focusing on two powerful tools: INDEX FUNDS and ETFs.
Whether you're a seasoned investor or just starting out, this video will arm you with the knowledge to navigate these exciting options.
Stocks vs. Funds:
First up, let's talk stocks. Owning stocks means owning a piece of a company, giving you a direct stake in its success.
Actively Managed vs. Passively Managed Funds:
Who's in the Driver's Seat?
But not all funds are created equal. We have actively managed funds, where expert fund managers handpick stocks, aiming to beat the market like chess masters.
However, history shows that most large-cap actively managed funds struggle to consistently outperform the market.
They charge higher fees, too, so your returns might take a hit.
That's where passively managed index funds shine.
These simply track a market index like the Nifty 50, mirroring its performance without stock-picking.
They boast lower fees, high liquidity (meaning you can easily buy and sell), and the SIP advantage (perfect for regular small investments).
Plus, you don't need a DEMAT account to get started.
ETFs: The Stock-Trading Twist on Index Funds
Enter exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the cool kids on the block.
They're basically index funds that trade like stocks on the exchange, meaning you can buy and sell them in real-time throughout the day.
Plus, they can be even cheaper than index funds.
This makes them ideal for short-term trading strategies, adding a bit of spice to your investment portfolio.
Ultimately, the best choice for you depends on your risk appetite, investment goals, and timeline.
So, my friends, research, analyze, and choose wisely! Remember, investing is a marathon, not a sprint. Stay informed, stay diversified, and let your money work for you.
Happy investing!

Hi Rishabh! Thank you for your detailed videos and insights. May I please ask if it's possible to track of existing MF investments in Coin or Kite? I currently invest in Motilal oswal small cap and mid cap funds so would love to track them in one place in addition to start investing in ETFs in Kite. Thank you!
I track most of my investments on Console (Zerodha)
Thanks. Last time you have talked with the balancing of English and Hindi. But today mostly in hindi. So i couldn't understand much. But thanks.
I agree. I will keep most of the future videos in English with a bit of Hindi so it can help more people.. This one has more Hindi I agree.
What about sectoral etf like cpse
I have consumer ETF but nothing else. And this one also I’m not buying more
Now we can do SIP on ETFs as well by setting mendate and creating buckets in zerodha
Yes we can!
How safe is new amc NAVI to invest for 20 years? Can they sustain for loner period of time?
Just asking this question because they are also in lending bussiness.
I feel it’s hard to say about any fund house what could happen in the worst case to them. There’s always some issue with each of the companies in finance out there. In case something crazy happens there would be an option to take the money out and switch to another fund and institutions and regulators will probably ensure the money is safe. One can say the same about banks as only a certain amount is ensured but then if we doubt the system it’ll be hard to invest in any instrument
That said you should invest where you feel most comfortable because that’s the one you’re most likely to sustain for a longer period of time
And time is what gets returns
Is it better to invest through zerodha coin to index nifty uti direct
Coin has the Direct plans so the expense ratio will be the same. I just use Coin for convenience as they also let you create AMC SIPs. But either option should be fine since your money is going to go to the same place.
Only thing to avoid is high management fee brokers.
I have invested in mutual fund in Kite Zerodha i want to ask you, how can i invest in etf along with my mutual fund please expalin Jitendra
I think you mean on Coin, Zerodha which is the mutual fund app. If you want to sell the mutual fund and use that money to invest in ETFs, just make sure first that there's no exit load or you can wait for a bit for the exit load period to be over. You can also sell units that don't have an exit load first. Once ready, you can sell those through Coin. You will then have the money to buy ETFs via Kite. You might need to wait a bit for the funds to come.
Kite has SIP option
Orders
SIP
New SIP
Create basket of all the ETFs
Can you create a video on this?
I usually avoid creating videos on how tos on tools because Kite support / etc can answer that and they have detailed docs on this. I want to bring my unique way and perspective in my videos which you can't find elsewhere.
I din get ur top 6 MF youtube link..

Hello Sir, nice videos and your way of investing.
Thank you!
Sir.. thoda confusion hai..clear answer nahi mila..kyu passively managed MF le jab kite me sip ho skti hai aur liquidity bhi achi hoti hai un ETF me jinka acha AUM hai? Pls let me know because I want to stop my passive index fund MF and rather same the SIP in index ETF..
Index fund will not have liquidity issue compared to etf which might have
What abt debt etf like GILT5yrbees and LTGILTbees?
Not sure how these work
I think one should also check the i-NAV of the etf before placing the buy or sell order. Many a times the value at which etf is being traded is higher or lower than the i-NAV.
What is the % difference in most cases?
I try not to over-optimise or over-complicate things if the differences are small. There's more to life than investing..
