I remember walking up the stairs from the down platform at Woolwich Arsenal station, must have been 1966, l was 3, and a big green monster came chuffing out of the tunnel. "Tangmere" said my Dad.
That was the air brake pump that was receiving adjustment 🔧. Inside cylinder drain cock sticking open (an issue usually with LMS locos), but a very brisk departure, although probably with the diesel assisting
I hope it wasn't a restored BR sandwich !! Seriously, I hope was well with the patient 🙏, and thanks to the services for their prompt attention. Made for a slightly different video too 👍👍👍
Wow 😮 those white smoke in front of that big black steam locomotive, a sight to behold. I just loved 🥰 it. Particularly that chugging and acceleration towards the final part after the stoppage. What a beautiful railway locomotive and line. By the way. Which country’s railway is this? As most of the countries across globe have stopped using steam engines.
What an excellent restart from Oxenholme ! No slipping, and the driver in absolute control. Wonderful !

Its good to see that despite its nut and bolt overhaul, its still the same smokey ole bucket its always been. Not ruined - Excelent!

Love the oldpullman corridor coaches
Great video Keith
The best English train ever made.
Southern loco hauling a rake of GWR. Awesome
We don’t normally see the railtour coming to a unscheduled stop they normally go through here flat out
Think medical emergency on board hence the ambulance at end of video
Ah yeah so was there someone feeling poorly onboard that tour

This is in England, steam locomotives work special trains most weekends here.
I have always thought the Southern type of Pacific deserved a more substantial whistle (a chime maybe) than the pea whistle that they had .
The train did stop
Note the ambulance arriving to offer it first aid. Maybe to wipe off the flies from the cab side windows
