While some will strongly disagree with me, I think steam-train excursions look better in bad weather. The less-tan-perfect conditions add authenticity to the scene. Wonderful videography!!
Spot on Steve, the best laid plans and all that, great shot through the station, weather rather worse on you pm location though, but great results, cheers Steve .
Steve, With two tours passing in opposite directions it's interesting to try to predict the location of that unique passing shot but as we all know it rarely works out. However what you captured was excellent. Regards, John
Thanks John , they were actually going to pass around Crosby Garrett but with both tours running late we changed plans which in a way was good as it was hammering it down at Crosby Garrett ☔️☔️
Nice video Stephen very good camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up bye for now Philip
Some good video pictures in less than ideal weather. The Jubilees are quite handsome engines and it's good to see one in its home environment. I suppose I'm not alone in deploring the practice of steam locomotives operators of dressing their engines up as other members of the class. I've never really seen the point of this and I think it very fake. But I realise the LMS themselves did this sort of identity swap in 1939 when 6229 Duchess of Hamilton masqueraded as 6220 Coronation to visit the World's Fair in New York.
Very nice video shots of both steam rail tours Stephen. Cheers - Allan. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it Allan , a day of contrasting weather conditions that’s for sure ☹️
Great coverage at Oxenholme thanks for the footage. Brian
Glad you enjoyed it Brian , always get a decent shot at Oxenholme 👍🎥
Great footage. Thanks.
My pleasure 👍

Thanks John , to be honest I prefer wet weather as it’s certainly better to film in but rain on the lens can be annoying.
Spot on Steve, cracking charge through Oxenholme and quite the opposite at Birkett, cheers 👍
Cheers Nige , it was certainly very loud at Oxenholme and like you say totally different at Birkett 😂☔️
Great video - both engines working superbly. They met at Hellifield where I was - though the conditions were awful
Thanks for the very kind comment as it’s always appreciated. . Are you sure they met at Hellifield as I thought it was at Appleby that they passed🤔
Great shots. Thanks for braving the weather and sharing with the armchair enthusiasts who can`t get to these places.
My pleasure and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video 👍Steve

Great video Steve,
Glad you enjoyed it Alistair, glad we didn’t do Crosby Garrett as planned because it looked very wet over that way .
Spot on Steve, the best laid plans and all that, great shot through the station, weather rather worse on you pm location though, but great results, cheers Steve .
Thanks Steve, yes it was certainly a day of mixed weather conditions 😂
Super video Steve ;)

Good show at Oxenholme and what a difference in the afternoon, weather slowing her down.👍👍

Excellent video Steve.. Galatea performed superbly. Great sounds. Kind regards C&A
Glad you enjoyed it C&A, it was a great show from Galatea especially as the engine was having steaming issues.
Couple of good shots Steve. Giving it plenty through Oxenholme. With a nice steady climb past birkett in the conditions. 👍
Thanks Simon, always roar through Oxenholme to try SNG get a good run at Grayrigg 👍
Nice video Stephen very good camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up bye for now Philip

Great video Steve. Impressive performance by both steam locos. As always the best laid plans and all that.🤔🤓
Glad you enjoyed it Anthony, once one tours is late or early the plan’s always go south 😂
Couple of good shots there Steve, wonderful sound at Oxenholme and horrible conditions at Birkett.
Many thanks Austin , it was certainly great seeing her at Oxenholme but not as good at Birkett ☔️☔️
Excellent footage Steve. Really like the shot at Oxenholme, Galatea was really going for it

Thanks Simon, yes it’s a strange one chopping and changing identities 🤷
Bit of a difference between Oxenholme and Birkett common.Hipe you are drying out
Certainly was Idris and looking at the weather over towards Crosby Garrett I’m glad we didn’t go there as planned ☔️☔️☔️
The Misleading Jubilee going strongly again
Galalberta Leone…
Always gives a great display even with the steaming issue it was suffering with .
